- George Kollias presents the first lesson in a series of what will be a journey into the Double Bass Drumming world... Well known as one of the leaders of Extreme Metal Drumming, George Kollias remains at the top of today's Metal scene and goes way beyond that with the book series "The Odyssey of Double Bass Drumming".
In this lesson, George demonstrates several fundamental exercises aimed at linking the right hand and the right foot.

Another good tip regardless of skill level: Always practice with a metronome.
Same here. My "drum teacher" aka middle school band director never mentioned that and had very little patience.
Does he use a trigger on his bass? It sounds too good to be real. Or are his tuning skills and mics amazing
Six months late, but yeah, he uses triggers.
@@Chromadrummerno he doesn’t use triggers. Only live
Did anybody else notice the new cymbals???????
Thank you for your help. I'll do my best!😀

If George bought out a nylon tip version of his stick I'd use it.
Hate wood tip.

Would you be able to do a tutorial on foot/ankle movement? as in which parts of the foot move at particular times during the rhythm :) thanks
ONDE ADQUIRO ESSE LIVRO?
What drum pedal beater is used in this video? is wood or felt?
Odyssey is spelled incorrectly in the title.
One of my favourite drummers of all time.
this was helpful, thank you!
how should I have my pedal tightness?? apparently I need to have the left pedal looser the right
probably not a good idea. you wouldnt want a thin stick in your left hand and a thicker stick in your right. it wont be even. as far as how tight you want your pedals to be is personal preference. i personally like them loose to about medium in tension. you'll have to fool around with them and it might take some time.
Tip: to find out if your pedals are at equal tension, pull both beaters back at the same distance and let them go. if they rebound in sync with one another for a few strokes they are equal. for me it helps if i find a tension i like with my right(dominant) foot first then match the left accordingly.
