+DirkVerbeurenDrummer As do you Dirk! Would love to you hear you do more work with Devin Townsend in the future. You guys create heavy fucking musical insanity together! \m/
Till now , I am very thankful to George Kollias .I have got to learn things , like how he plays the snare and toms and his blast beats . The only thing I would like to learn is the way he plays the bass so fast , and that by meeting him . I have full respect for him and his drumming , and will continue to .
+Diego Lafuente I'm sure you think you can play it easily, but playing it correctly and as precise as George does is another thing entirely. This song is no walk in the park man...
GRAZIE
I went to a drum camp this summer and took a class with Mike Mangini, and he told the class about how he went to George's place and tried playing his pedals, and he noticed that no matter how hard he tried to play them, he always got a tiny, soft hit for how close they were to the head and how tight they were and Mike was all, "GEORGE!!! GET OVER HERE! LET ME SEE YOUR FEET!!!"😨😨😨
I like hearing the tone and mix evolve through different Nile albums. I loved the snare tone on Detest, Ithyiphallic and Annihilation. I REALLY loved the toms on Detest. Sethu had a great raw sound that you don't hear much nowadays in metal. In general though I do prefer the higher-tuned snare.
holy hell that was awesome o.O i need nile. in finland. right now. or ok, well not right now, in a week or so, so that i have enough time to get a ticket :D this video is a great example of george being as amazing as always
George, you've been my inspiration since ive started to play the drums. This album was fuckin killer, the whole band really put forth some amazing songs. Who gives a shit what others say, you do what you do and kick ass doing it \m/
George! Big inspiration! I wanted to ask you what Iron Cobra beaters did you use before? Wood or Felt? Never stop playing because you are definitely the best at what you do!! :)
I wonder who was the bastard who did not like the video! George Kollias is the master of monsters on the subject and think impossible someone not like the techniques that he presents.
i would literaly pay money if george started doing Drum Covers of songs like Fleshgod apocalypse-The violation, Infant anhilator-decapitation Fornication, ingested-Skinned and fucked,Morbid Angel-opening of the gates,Messhugah-Bleed & Dream theater-Dance of eternity what do you guys think?
HabAnagarek Unfortunately the snare in the album isn't much different (at least in the songs they released), the blast beats sound drowned and muffled which is a real shame...
+adamagedone I tune my snare lower than i did in the past cause it sounds great on recordings, i prefer it like that much more although it makes your life harder to play fast on the kit. It's not muffled at all, there is a single piece of moon-gel there and thats all, so i would say it's pretty open, just tuned lower.
Hey man I'd really appreciate it if you could answer this question for me? At the minute I'm using chain pedals, in this video it looks like you're using direct drive. I've heard great things about direct drive and debating on getting them myself, so what are the benefits from using direct drives?
Hey George what is that technique you are doing for the blast beat? Dave Haley said it was Moeller but looks like push-pull. Sorry if this has already been asked, thanks.
Dammit George, you RULE!!!
So do you Dirk!
+DirkVerbeurenDrummer As do you Dirk! Would love to you hear you do more work with Devin Townsend in the future. You guys create heavy fucking musical insanity together! \m/
This guy could record a drums only album and I would love it. The fineness is uncanny.
Imagine George in the kitchen, whisking eggs

This is soooooo satisfying to watch haha
you rule, man!
excellent drumming, it is the best performance I've ever seen! Thank you!
This goes right into the heart.
Lower tuning on the snare sounds killer. Reminds me of the pre-Kollias Nile snare sound.
Can't wait to see Nile live a second time, gonna be fucking epic.
+KreatorRage I saw them a week ago for my seond time too! :D it was fucking amazing!
Always a learning experience with Mr. Kollias.

I started to play last month an by hearing this I can play the first part easily, next week i do it entirely.
+Diego Lafuente I'm sure you think you can play it easily, but playing it correctly and as precise as George does is another thing entirely. This song is no walk in the park man...

Damn you are a beast! Super fast and those drums just.. Really enjoy your insane blast beat 👍😆
I am always amazied at his druming
it's been 9 months.
It feels so empty around here.
great performance as always
I guess the first one is the track that you said before is the most difficult you ever play.! Really amazing jam. You're the best
This velocity in only one foot! OMG!
Damn it, we like it. Post more!
Looking forward to the future uploads! \m/

I think George will get even more credit if his snare was tuned higher. It always sounds flat
Hey right foot need any help? Nah I got this lol 😆😂🤣
once i'll have seen George play drums with a Sonic the Hedgehog or The Flash costume, my life will be completed
holy hell that was awesome o.O i need nile. in finland. right now. or ok, well not right now, in a week or so, so that i have enough time to get a ticket :D this video is a great example of george being as amazing as always

Will you be doing clinics in America, anytime soon?
George! Big inspiration! I wanted to ask you what Iron Cobra beaters did you use before? Wood or Felt? Never stop playing because you are definitely the best at what you do!! :)
The fat snare tone is cool but I miss the sharp crack of the snare on Those Whome the Gods Detest.
Awesome \m/
Best drummer ever
Monster!!!

Dope! If by any chance, do you remember how you set up you drum practicing routine like 5-10 years ago?
This is not George Kollias, this is God

What a GOD
that new album is fuckin sick
I think i broke my airdrums..
Still the best in the business.
fucking BEAST!
I wonder who was the bastard who did not like the video!
George Kollias is the master of monsters on the subject and think impossible someone not like the techniques that he presents.
Fucking awesome as always George! And i prefer this natural sound than the triggered ones.
jajajajaja jajajaaj the bestttttt!!!!!!!!
i would literaly pay money if george started doing Drum Covers of songs like Fleshgod apocalypse-The violation, Infant anhilator-decapitation Fornication, ingested-Skinned and fucked,Morbid Angel-opening of the gates,Messhugah-Bleed & Dream theater-Dance of eternity what do you guys think?
fucking beast!
can anyone know which headphones George use on this video?
Unf he keeps his snare tuned pretty low for DM, which constantly results in it sounding muffled and being lost in the mix.
What is the song being played at 3:00?
🤘🏻❤️🤘🏻
Jesus i'm playing drums for a year now but i cant even imagine to get that fast especially with double bass. How the fuck are you doing that? xD
Amazing drumming as usual but this snare sounds weak
adamagedone Sounds oddly muffled - I wonder if mixed to sound like that?
HabAnagarek Unfortunately the snare in the album isn't much different (at least in the songs they released), the blast beats sound drowned and muffled which is a real shame...
+adamagedone I listened to the song Call to Destruction just now, and the snare is barely there at all. As you said, a real shame :(
+adamagedone
I tune my snare lower than i did in the past cause it sounds great on recordings, i prefer it like that much more although it makes your life harder to play fast on the kit. It's not muffled at all, there is a single piece of moon-gel there and thats all, so i would say it's pretty open, just tuned lower.
deal with it
Gaaaahhhhh, are you human or a machine???
Hey man I'd really appreciate it if you could answer this question for me? At the minute I'm using chain pedals, in this video it looks like you're using direct drive. I've heard great things about direct drive and debating on getting them myself, so what are the benefits from using direct drives?
you have a drum vid of you paying the whole song "call to destruction" like you played here. just the whole song though?
Hey George what is that technique you are doing for the blast beat? Dave Haley said it was Moeller but looks like push-pull. Sorry if this has already been asked, thanks.
DEATH METAL GOD!!!!!
George that first tom has no hit marks. When are you gonna use it? We need the 6 tom drum roll
CALL TO DESTRUCTION
