This is true with The Gender Confirmation Center and should be checked on when you are setting up an appointment with any surgeon. Apologies that our reply to this was so late, and hope this can be an answer for folks in the future!
This is the price break down for surgery procedures available on our website. A revision procedure within the first 12 months after top surgery with Dr. Mosser is included in the original surgery, but of course this should be check upon with each patient as all cases may vary.
This is a great question and relies mostly on one's comfort with the folding and elasticity of the skin near the incisions. Your question inspires a new opportunity for our team to investigate this further. Thank you!
I am 3 months, almost 4, post op double incision top surgery. I have dog ears on both sides but left side is not very noticeable, if at all, but the right side is bit more noticeable. Not super bad, but I’m not sure if it will get worse. I’ve contacted my surgeons office and they said a revision can be discussed at one year mark. Is there anything that I can do to prevent the dog ears from getting worse? They seem to have stayed the same so far.
Thanks for a great concise explanation. I had double incision top surgery by a "Trans Specialist" South African cosmetic surgeon. Oh boy..!! Beautiful scars and suturing (really minimal and delicate), but truly awful result in terms of contours and assymetry. Post op I have lopsided A cup "boobs" wth great lateral hollows of tissue, mefial fattiness around the nipples & large painful bilateral "corndog" dogears about 5-6" long. At intial and marking consults when I asked about the possibilty of revision, I was told it wouldn't be necessary. Post op I kept hoping it was an awful part of the inflammation and haematomas. Needless to say I am loathe to go back to the same surgeon and attempt round 2. Would it be possible to have the "re-countouring/sculpting" done under local simultanouesly wth the dog ears? Can large dogears
Always wondered what those were and was afraid it would happen to me. Thank you for the good explanation!
Thanks for your feedback!
Good to know! My chest folds extend under my arms, so it's good to be aware that my incisions will need to be further back to avoid extra surgery.
I am glad to read this was helpful for you! :)
I want top surgery
This is super helpful! Great way to illustrate why it happens with the paper cone!
Thank you very much!
Dog ear/tag revisions are usually fairly easy to remove and are counted under “first year-free revisions” right?

Does the dog ear need to be paid for in a seperate surgery or is it included in the original surgery?

Then if a revision is needed, do you provide a free one?
For most of our patients that require a revision within 12-months it will not be an additional cost to them.
can dog ears be painful? like when your arm is resting down?

so is it wiser to get a longer incision right at the start?
