Will I be okay if I started massaging my scars when my scars were healed by 3 1/2 weeks? Are there consequences? I will ask my surgeon as well, looking for opinions since I heard you say 6 weeks 😰 1 month post op rn
probably just as a precaution, i would say wait the recommended 6 weeks! just bc things are all nice looking on the surface, they might still need to do some healing and strengthening underneath the surface. youll have this chest for the rest of your life so you dont need to rush healing and care for it (-:
After 6 weeks! Your incisions are still healing before that and you could harm them if you massage before they're healed/strong enough to tolerate massaging
I know this is a video from 5 yrs ago but if it's possible I would like to ask for some advice. I'm almost 7 weeks post op and the doctor told me to tape my scars to prevent them from stretching. Is that a good idea or should I massage them instead? I was thinking of using beeswax ointment bc that's what I have at home apart from regular hand- or body lotion. Is that beeswax thing something u recommend or should I use coconut oil or regular hand- , or body lotion instead? The thing is that I also watched your other video on how to take care of the nipples. My doctor never told me to keep them moist after they're healed. Can u tell me something about that?
Do you offer an opportunity for ftm top surgery for adolescents? Is there specific guidelines you have for adolescent patients, such as one year on HRT before surgery?
@@ilemraz normally in top surgery some breast tissue is still left since cis men don't have 100% flat chests either, if you get surgery before breasts are done growing you risk work being undone because there's now more breast tissue than initially accounted for
@@sargentballsthat’s not true at all. Most surgeon’s websites will tell you that’s a myth. It’s almost impossible for breasts to grow back after top surgery, regardless of the age you get top surgery-because it’s major surgery. Even though they don’t remove everything, they remove about 95%, and the remaining tissue has been subject to surgical trauma which could prevent it from growing in the future. Also, most adolescents who get top surgery are on testosterone or blockers, so nothing was growing in the first place. Even without HRT, though, top surgery is rarely performed on anyone younger than 16. By 16-18, most people’s breasts are almost fully grown, and any future growth is negligible. So: if they could grow back, it wouldn’t make a big difference.
finally! to see what a real doctor says! was just gonna storm out and buy a bunch of products but now i can save my money!
Thank you! Just had my revision and now taking my scar care seriously!
Thank you..your a life saver!

I've heard most people use Aquaphor to moisturize scars! Try not to keep them always moist but def moisturize them daily/every 2 days!

@@staramoth that makes sense. Thank you for the response
@@staramoth why would they wait? wouldnt it be easier to get rid of the tissue while its still small?
