Three years ago, after 50 years of high sugar, high vegetable oil, and high processed food diet I had the following conditions: fatty liver, sleep apnea, hypertension, pre-diabetic, allergies, frequent headaches and stomach aches, gas, frequent and tough/long-lasting flus and colds. mood swings, joint aches. I was thin, however (except gut), so I and others assumed I was healthy, especially as I worked out most days. I then had a hemorrhagic stroke and was in intensive care for a week. Never once was diet mentioned. Knobb, Robert Lustig, Tim Noakes, Jason Fung, and low carb down under convinced me to drop the unsaturated fat, most sugars, and the up saturated fat. Every condition above is now gone completely and have not been sick in any way for three years which was amazing in my past for even 1 month. I wish people would listen. No medication at all and just lived with a friend with covid for one month and I have yet to be vaccinated.

Amazing to hear such wisdom from a mainstream medical expert. Maybe there is hope for us. Also really appreciated the well deserved respect he showed Dr. Berg. We need more of the medical community to awaken to these obvious truths. Well done, Dr. Knobbe.

I think Dr Berg gives mostly good advice but I will never understand how people kowtow to him. Does he cite scientific studies a lot ? I don't hear it. Of course I would question anyone with any advice. I think Dr Berg's advice is mostly good imo. But Wikipedia really takes a whip and and then a hatchet to him. They go overboard imo but I can't know for sure how much? Don't be a sheep, do research though you can't trust all studies. Olive oil I think is good as it is low in Omega 6 but I do get so little omega 6 that I take 2 softgels a day along with Omega 3 and get 9 from olive oil .. all I know is no more acne for me. Could i damage eyes .. wow there is no much we can't be sure of. One has to know everything one eat, they say everyone gets too much omega 6 but maybe I am not one of them.

@@oppothumbs1 Quoting scientific studies, is one quick way to lose most of ones' audience. Too technical! Coincidentally, ones' family practitioner will never pontificate scientifically, in the Doctor/patient interaction. The patient would need to go to medical school in order to communicate on the same linguistic level as the Dr, and that might end any Dr./patient relatiinship.

Really good to see two of my favourite and knowledgeable people together. I have been keto for about 2 years BECAUSE I was diagnosed with macular degeneration and an acoustic neuroma. I found the good Dr Knobbe several years before that and was already a convert to removing sugar and and using more natural oils and fats (avocado, grass fed butter, olive) and then later found the keto and IF woe. After subscribing to Dr Berg and learning even more, I’m 47 kilo’s down, my lifetime issues of brittle asthma and chronic eczema are no longer resulting in hospital visits, I’m no longer pre-diabetic and my liver counts are now normal.

My dear father devevloped wet MD at around 80 years of age. It was so sad to see a very active loved one become somewhat enfeebled from it. It also caused some depression in him for awhile, when he was normally a very positive person. He learned to snow ski when he was 65 years old and did quite well at it. He drove long distances, and in crazy southern California traffic, without a problem. Then he got MD. After his girlfriend died, I moved in with him as his caregiver. We had 8 1/2 wonderful years together until he passed away at 91 years of age. He often told me I added years to his life being his caregiver. I am so grateful for that opportunity. Though it was sad he became legally blind, it led to us having that precious time together.
As it can be genetic, I get checked for it yearly. Especially a concern now that I am 66 years old. So glad I switched my eating to a healthy Keto Diet last year. Thank you for all of your videos, Dr Berg!

Wow! I stopped using vegetable oil back in 2004, thank God!! Although I use olive oil sparingly, I purchase it from Israel. I also use coconut oil and avocado oil infrequently. My "go to" is grass-fed butter. Yay!!! This info is so comforting! Thank you Dr Berg for posting this!

Is olive oil from Israel better?

    • @vicbuch5230
      @vicbuch5230 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@kathyinigarida578 - I think so! Olive oil from Israel is pure, high-quality and not mixed with lower grade oils. Israel's olives are cold-pressed the same day they are harvested so they do not have time to ferment. Plus they harvest the olives before they get too big so they are not over ripe and therefore have less acidity. While quality is important to me, so is taste, and I prefer the taste of olive oil from Israel! It seems "fresh" to me compared to olive oils I used to purchase at the grocery store.

My grandmother had MD. Started in her 60 probably. I'm 53 and at my last eye exam the doctor told me I have the very beginning stages of it. I can tell mostly when I try to put on eye makeup and have to close one eye. Then there are days that it feels like I'm wearing an old pair of eyeglasses with outdated prescription. And a few days later I'll be fine. I've wondered if it has something to do with what I had eaten that day or the day before.
So many maladies all come back to the same answers, diet, rest, water, exercise. It's almost as if there were some intelligent designer who wrote blueprints of health and wove them into our DNA. Highlighting the deleterious affects of seed oils is probably the next significant frontier in our effort to debunk many of the health destroying myths that have been propounded by the mainstream medical establishment and the food industry. Many physicians and researchers have decimated the establishment's other groundless claims against things like dietary saturated fat, dietary cholesterol, etc, and these same physicians and researchers have done an excellent job in refuting the notion that low fat whole grains are manna from heaven. Its high time that the last pillar of antiquated science is vanquished, and that false pillar is the health benefits of seed oils. Dr. Knobbe, along with Dr. Cate Shanahan and Dr. Paul Saladino have presented compelling cases against PUFA rich seed oils. Thank you Dr. Berg for giving Dr. Knobbe a platform to further articulate his views to a wider audience.

Hired a trainer. Cardio. Learned mixed martial arts. Only grass fed beef. 50 years old. 30 days later, down 20 lbs & felt amazing. Oh and my eye dr asked me if I took vitamins because my eyes looked like it

Dr. Chris Knobbe's hypothesis, if true, explains the seemingly dichotomous findings, where you find traditional communities who eat a high carb diet, but don't suffer insulin resistance and its associated maladies. So as long as these different communities don't have their traditional diets adulterated with industrial seed oils, they tend to remain relatively healthy. Does that mean that the high carb diet is a perfectly fine - as many low fat advocates and vegans love to claim - if you just eschew these PUFA rich oils? No. Since most of us in the developed and developing world have been consuming these PUFA oils for decades, we have developed the mitochondrial dysfunction that Dr. Knobbe speaks of here, which has led to most of our population becoming insulin resistant, and thus intolerant to high levels of carbohydrates. Hence, a low carb intervention is still the most effective means of ameliorating insulin resistance. Now, after a low carb/intermittent fasting protocol as been adhered to long enough, to where the mitochondrial dysfunction has been rectified, and insulin resistance has been reversed, then there maybe some justification to reintroduce carbs back into the diet.

I hope you're right. I've eliminated the seed oils and practically all the sugars and carbs. Would love to be able to do a few carbs again someday.

It's wonderful to see Doctors from different medical practices truly practicing what has always been here for us, natural medicine.
I have been following Joseph Mercola since before social media and Doctor Berg, you saved my love a year ago by offering a symptom quiz. Knowing my body, having been holistic for years I was able to pin point my conditions and figure out the best course of nutritional and holistic action to take.
I love to add other Doctors to my go to file so thank you for sharing ❤

I DO NOT buy salad dressing because they all have these bad oils, I MAKE MY OWN from scratch in a few minutes. I do my best not to buy anything processed. Coconut Oil, Butter, Avocado and a good Olive Oil! Yup, these Doctors are awesome for doing these TH-cam videos and informing people, right, read your labels. Thank You!
