The sly warlord titan dig at squidmar was great 😂
Is he still milking it? Because I couldn't keep watching squidmar because the warlord titan videos.
@@baronvonfancy9341I think it's over
@@baronvonfancy9341 Same. I subbed to his channel for the painting. Not for the juvenile editing and over the top yelling of the same 2 dumb catchphrases (the other one being "grand reveal". Yes. We get it. It's a grand reveal. You don't need to say it like that in every single video.) over and over again. Couldn't finish that series because after the 10th time it just got annoying. Haven't really followed the channel much since, which I think is kind of a shame.
@@rogthepirate4593yep, the grand reveal did it for me too. I’m sorry but a when you are doing a big project in multiple videos, the grand reveal is what comes when the whole thing is finished, not after you just built and primed half of it.
I stopped watching Squidmar when they were pulling these exact same stunts when they did the Manta build. Editing got so obnoxious
I love the dig at Squidmar, "Warlord Titan!".
Homage, not dig.
It seemed lighthearted, I wouldn't describe it as a "dig" per se.
@@jphanks Fair. I definitely thought it in good humor.
I was laughing at that as well
Either way, its true, it was around that time when squidmar started those videos that i un subbed and blocked him. Trash techniques work once. Regards to master ninjon
The Squidmar impression was spot on 🤣🤣😂😂
It was INSANE!!!!!111
I missed it. When did he do that? Lol
Im a Blood Bowl painter. Each “army” is only 16-20 models and bright colors are a plus. And they are often amusing subjects
You and Scott sometimes talk about painters' styles. Your style is popalicious. You pick the most poppy colors and know where to put them and how much of them to put. The freaking pop king!
I appreciate you being a consistent painting channel. So many of my favorite painting channels almost never paint or just don’t do TH-cam anymore.. I really enjoy having something like this to put on in the background while I’m hobbying
s q u i d m a r
@@jarydanderson1400 I mean I didn’t say there weren’t others..
That's why i really appreciate Jon's channel - as well as Vince's.
agree vince is another super star fs!@@rogthepirate4593
It’s ok you can say miniac
Re: varnishes and oil washes - DO varnish if you're using contrast paints rather than inks. I scuffed a bunch of harpies by not doing that, turns out contrast paints do behave differently to normal acrylics with a cotton bud dampened with mineral spirits and it eats in to the contrast paints pretty easily.
Ninjon vids are the only ones that ever get me as pumped as a 10 year old snorting Pixie Sticks.
10:00...love the pale cream colour there.
Worried about your intro? Hell, first Ninjon video I ever watched I was hooked when you spun around in the chair wearing that goofy smile. Been looking forward to it ever since. Lets me know what I'm about to see will be relaxing and fun. And I need that, thank you.
Love the vibrancy of inks for these types of models. Also, in my experience I find that organic models (like bugs/creatures) lend themselves very well to beginner airbrushing too, because not everything has to be perfectly uniform from model to model. Damn nature, you scary.
I've been getting more and more into painting busts and larger figures. Especially the resin printed figures.
These are such a nice blend of nids & zerg, 10/10 buggy goodness
Warlord Titan! Also I really love the flying bug
You dog at 1:03 is soo cute, you should find a dog model and paint it as him. You could even make a video on how to paint fur
I love the Starcraft II overlord. The creep acting as flight stand is genius.
And today, Ninjon will be looking at shade. specifically, throwing it. INSANE
Backpacks...and belt pouches... and buttons... oh my!
I would snort pixie sticks with NinJon! Then we would share insulin syringes and cuddle! 🥰😉🍻❤️
I could see some pink in the recesses between scales/carapace panels on this scheme to give those parts a fleshy tone to them!
Those are GREAT critter models! They have an aesthetic that reminds me a bit of the Zerg from Starcraft, and bit of the Bugs from the first Starship Troopers movie . You did an excellent job with painting them too!
You've made me laugh quite a bit, but that Warlord Titan line got the hardest laugh yet lmao
"More excited than a 10 year old snortin pixie stix" 🤣🤣🤣 I died a little bit mang, i was mid drink when that dropped and wound up "snorting" beer i laughed so hard lol
Intro was hilarious. Warlord titan !!!!!
"The teeth and claws just need one thick coat" - camera cuts to Two Thin Coats Skeleton Legion 😂
Yea, these turned out fantastic. Love the quick OSL effects too. Kickass sir!
Just always lead with Daryl!! Best first 30 seconds on the internet!!
Warlord.... Titan! lololol😂👍🏻
You had me at snorting Pixie Stix!!!! ANd having GrEeN anD BlUe aNd rEd buggers!!
Thy sponsor was pretty optimistic about how many of their minis you be able to paint :joy:
Congratulations, Lukas will now pay for this insult by being put back under the stairs.
I hope you’re proud of yourself
I don't even do miniatures or game whatever you do but i absolutely love your videos so keep doing it.
I'm a crappy scale aircraft modeller and i wish someone like you would do something similar in the scale model space!
I really enjoy Nightshifts videos, although he is tank modeller not aircraft. Also Plasmo has some good aircraft videos.
Come on. Just one space marine. Just try one. It'll be ok. Just one and then you can go back to aircraft. 🤔 maybe a couple orks too. They have lots of flying planes and they are kinda ramshackle so your planes will fit in well. Just paint them red those go fasta.
I am also a scale modeler. I come here for tips and inspiration for painting my monsters, dinosaurs, and kaiju kits.
Dear Ninjon, you are my favourite miniature painting youtuber and your videos always inspire me to paint. The way you breakdown things makes getting excellent results that much more accessible! Thank you!
Honestly, the one bug I painted was an already built Trygon, and I lost count of the number of times I stabbed myself on all the spikes. Yours look fantastic! And you've got me looking into getting better with my airbrush, now too!
These are all techniques I've seen you use before and still think it's so valuable to revisit them and reinforce them when so many people immediately get their Warhammer minis and learn to paint them from official games workshop resources. Air brush, inks, oil washes, vibrant edge highlights. Its so much faster than GWs alternative of "layer 3 colors over every single detail by hand" and looks so nice for the time invested.
Definitely your GREATEST INTRO EVAAAAAR!!! ❤
Loving that yellow/orange/black on the carapace of the bugs - looks really natural without a crazy amount of effort
Came for the cheek and sarcasm, and stayed for the painting. 😂
The paint job is unreal! Love how punchy they are and the red eyes look immense great work!!
Your inspiration for intros should come from RC car commercials from the 90's :D
Those models turned out amazing. Can't wait for you and Scott to talk about it on TUP
Ninjons´energy is what i aspire to give of
Probably one of the best videos I have seen, really enjoyed the colours and how easy the steps are
This is spooky! I was literally just thinking to myself that I really want a refresher on oil washes for a nurgle army I’m planning, and was trying to find a video from a creator I enjoy. Then this popped up! Excellent as always, Jon.
Love the models and what you did with them. Lots of inspiration and motivation. Thanks for the tremendous effort you put into your vids!! Its appreciated!
Love this channel and love the bugs. I know every time I watch a video of yours I'm going to get just a bit better as a painter. I love that you show a big variety of minis too. This is my favourite painting channel by far!
Great video Jon! This really ties some of your older (but extremely helpful/inspirational) technique highlight videos together in a very cohesive and fresh way. You do a great job of breaking down what appear to be complex & foreign techniques into simple & most importantly - actionable - steps. I watched this and thought, "Ya I can give that a try and it might actually be cool on one of my projects." Thanks for sticking to your core competencies, making us laugh (pixie sticks had me rolling hah) and then continuing to provide great content!
The amount of work accomplished with the airbrush is amazing as are the really nice blends and transitions on the armor plates! Apparently I need to bust out my airbrush and start learning how to use it for more than just priming. Thanks for the inspiration as always, and for the tips about how to use inks well.
You are a fantastic presenter. This was a really good video and you showed a lot of different techniques and teicks in a short and engaging amount of time.
This a great video for army painting efficiently. Thanks!
I love painting them orks, monsters, trucks n troops but all different
Love the sculpts and the paintjob, so cool!
This is an amazing video! A great tutorial that can be applied to a project and show cases different products.
Great combination of techniques! The results are really fun too!
I absolutely love painting organics, living creatures, but there is also a pleasantness in doing inorganic models like Marine armor and tanks. I feel Organics are much more forgiving, while inorganic is a test of skill and patience more. If that makes sense.
There's a couple of cool tricks in there. Thanks!
Great video! I can't say I keep up with everything on the channel, but this has been my favorite Ninjon video to date.
Even after the first few layers those bugs were starting to look disturbingly realistic; if you hid the little infantry guy on my porch I'd assume it was a real junebug. Your technique was helpful to watch but your explanations were even better, and I'll be testing out laying down my brightest inks first. And finally, I loved the candid intro: in the current era of TH-cam it's nice to see humility and transparency in the creators I follow. Thanks for the great advice!
Hey Jon, I just want to say thank you because I learn so muchfrom your videos and it is really helping me not being afraid of trying new things. Thanks.
Lovely vid, Jon. Thank you for your efforts in making it.
"Tyranids look too human to me"
Jon, I'm now worried about the company you are keeping!!!!
The glow on that large bug really looks great. I am still dabbling in airbrushing, don't quite have the control for much more than zenithal or army painter triad coats. I enjoy painting superheroes and zombicide minis.
I normally listen to your videos and my head shot up from the model I was painting when you said “Warlord Titan” ya got me
Thumbs up for the googly eyes on the paint mixer.
This really helped me. After trying out couple of those things i feel like i can up my game a lot with only a little bit more effort
Thank you, you have been so inspirational to me and I’m sure to so many other people.
So inspiring! Thank you so much for this! Absolutely amazing!
I have several thousand points of painted hedonites/daemons and just started some Gitz. It's so much easier and faster and more fun to paint them because they're not overloaded with details. Sometimes a simple mini really is better
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! I subscribed to you years ago, but in the past couple of months, you have become one of my favorites! Keep up the fantastic work.
By the way, I'd love to see more examples of your "smash chop"method. It was quite intriguing, but it'd be interested to see what it would look like on some different models.
You really made those bugs pop! The colour scheme looked great and this I feel is an overlooked part in any miniature, but especially in large armies. Your colour scheme helps define the main details for maximum effect.
I think your speedpainting has improved from the already very high level in your previous armypainting videos. I don't paint armies but admire people that can.
Beautiful paint jobs, Ninjon.
Those models are gorgeous. Paint job is beautiful too.
Holy crap, that WAS awesome!
What a fantastic, accessible video! Some awesome tips in here! Thanks for making this!
Ohhh first time hearing about the liquid pigments - they came out great.
Great video I love painting monsters so much more than PC’s, or NPC’s
The first 30 seconds were so good, I watched them twice
Me: oh cool! Some new painting tricks that can make painting easier!
Ninjon: and now, time to bust out the oil paints...
Me: well, time to find something else to watch
You forgot to somehow put Warhammer in the video title.
I recently thought about making a white oil wash, good to see it's going to work great.
Always great stuff, always make it easy enough to ingest and practice but with awesome results
Kids snorting pixie sticks, im invested!
They look awesome! I really need to start using my oil paints more!
Cool vid lots of great techniques, thanks!
I love your video I just move and I been getting my crafting and painting more for miniature and terrain.
I honestly, and truly, do not wish being a content creator on anyone... so with that said, I truly appreciate all the hard work that goes into these and deciding on something to do that doesn't come off as a gimmick.
I really, really, really appreciate how you show an experimental approach to mini painting. I got into 3D printing last year and finally got around to painting. As I learn, I try to look at what I'm doing as an experiment rather than pressure myself to do it "right." That's one reason I often print several copies of the same mini so I can play with different color schemes and approaches. Obviously I work on learning good basics, but taking the experimental approach really keeps the fun in it even if I mess up. Cuz then I just ask myself how do I work with what's happened rather than get hung up on the blunder.
As for minis, I'm furry trash so I love the anthro characters like dragonborn, werewolves, tabaxi, and such. :D
Wow, these bugs are gorgeous
Wow! This was a great video. I learned a lot in the past 7 minutes.
As a wise man once said, "Bugs, Mr. Rico! Zillions of 'em!"
Also, you have a very large dog. I approve.
Awesome work man!
Really great video. Look forward to more like this.
30 seconds of Darryl at the start of every video. Boom, money in your pocket!
That intro was a crack up well done 🎉🎉
those units looks amazing
Seeing that finished bug makes me wish the plastic models were available and that you still did commission painting. I'm going to have to look at getting some of the fluor and AK paints to try!
You make this look soooo simple. I just need to practice!
9:33 BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!! SKULLS 💀💀 FOR THE SKULL THRONE!! >]
I couldn’t agree more! Haha
These came out great!
I absolutely love your videos Ninjon! They're thoroughly engaging and you're a inspiration to artists everywhere. I would personally like to see you paint some models that are completely different (non-gaming models). I dunno, a model of Sauron, Voldemort, Judge Dredd or Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. It doesn't doesn't need to be a miniature for gaming. You are a legend, please keep making videos.
darel the fist 30 seconds always keeps me hypnotised! no way of escpaing
So, no kidding, I started this without sound, and said to myself, I better reset it, Ninjon always has something cool in his intro.
