I marked out when they formed the team and it gave Orton that boost he needed as well to get back in the main event. Edge really was the best person for him to help get his attitude in check and get his career on track

Randy admitted himself that during his early years in the biz, he was immature and not ready. Vince was trying so hard to cover up Brock Lesnar from the WWE universe by giving Randy the world heavyweight title at 24 years old that he didn't realise what he was creating, a cocky, arrogant, hated, self-centred teenager. Keep in mind Randy was only in the industry for 2 years when he won the championship, he had too much thrown on his plate, most likely due to his high reputation being a 3rd generation superstar. It's like Triple H said 'You have the potential to be one of the top stars in this industry, the only one who can stop that is you.' .
During rated RKO we got to see Randy develop, Randy knew he had to change if he didn't want to be a jobber and having Edge to back him up really jumpstarted his career back to the top of WWE Officials' lists.

Edge is underrated. Has he ever had a bad match aswell? Whether is a big guy like big show or small like Mysterio he fucking nailed it. His injury probably takes him out the top ten and that’s just bad luck. If he worked from 2011-2019 or whenever he came back he could’ve pushed top 5. Edge is fucking sick !!!

Adam has spoken since about that oversight in interviews, saying that he feels guilty and sorry about it, and that the pressure of the induction moment made him forget a few names to shout out. FWIW, I think that secretly Adam did not mention Randy deliberately, because Adam knew he'd get too emotional saying goodbye to his friend and partner.
