  • Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Conrad Thompson to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

I think a good example of that is Rey Fenix. He tries to emulate Rey Mysterio's style, but he pushes it too far and ends up on the injured list more often than he does actually wrestling. Rey knew just how far to push it, and that has given him the longevity to keep going even today, while I'll be surprised if Fenix is still around in 10 years. Not knocking him, when he is healthy he really is incredible to watch, but thats like a dozen matches per year, while he spends the rest of the year recovering from some insane injury.

Rey Mysterio doesn't get enough credit for still be at the top of his game at his age.
He should've had the recognition that Taker has right now but unfortunately, Rey Rey doesn't have the character that the fans can connected to.
At least Eddie Guerrero finally connects because of his "lie, cheat & steal" character.

  • @knightshousegames

A lot of people talk about how no one has anything bad to say about The Undertaker or Sting in interviews, but Rey is another guy that anyone I've heard talk about him not just says good things, but absolutely gushes about him.
No matter what era of Rey you look at, he was always good. Again, you hear a lot about Undertaker and Sting when you talk about guys who knew when to reinvent themselves with the times, and Rey checks that box too. The style he was wrestling in the early 2000s would STILL be ahead of it's time today if he were still capable of it. He has just adapted over time to his own physical limitations, but he's never stopped being a top tier performer. His mind for wrestling is just on another level.
I think he will go down in history as the greatest Luchador of all time. Like there are a lot of big name Luchadors in Mexico, but once you pull them out of Mexico, you find out how limited they are in the ring, like Sincara. You could put Rey in the ring with anybody in the world, working any style, and it will be good, if not great. he can work any style, any time period, any opponent, big, small, doesn't matter.

Vince would trade 10 guys the size of Cena for one the size of the Big Show no matter how the crowd would react to that person. Every time WWE had forced a superstar it has always been a 'small' wrestler that Vince hated all along. They had to force the John Cena (rapper) they had to force Eddie Guerrero (Eddie admits this). an interview was done with a Cena is which he stated he was given to green light to win his first WWF Championship off JBL and while in the meeting Vince 100% would be the worst idea ever and the crowd would like buy it and so many of other 'smaller' wrestler who have become crowd favorites basically had to force Vince threw other channels to get championships or pushes.

Edge is right about Rey. He is the one who inspired me. At first he just inspired me to try and do things I didn't think I was able to do. I figured if a guy at that size can wrestle with guys nearly twice his size, than I can do anything I set my mind to. It seemed like once I got to be a fan, everything fell into place. My boss saw something in me, that I can't explain to this day. But after a few months of getting in shape and putting on some muscle, I decided to take up lucha libre and wrestling training. I thought of what he would have done in my shoes. Like him, I never gave up and never let my size be my crutch or hold me back. Now I look back at myself and it's hard to believe I've been doing this for 12 years. My life has turned around so drastically and it's really thanks to finding out who he really was, a strange dream, and just the inspiration he gave to me.

One of my favorite wwe stories was Kurt angle vs Rey Mysterio and another was edge vs Rey Mysterio, I would have liked to see a triple hhh vs Rey Mysterio story, that would have been a KABOOM!

Rey the best high flying wrestler ever. The GOAT ❤ it’s never easy to do this for 30-35 years. I really hope wwe gives Rey mysterio a better story than the one with his son and Ripley

Rey is a proper GOAT! He is a big personality, big talent, big charisma all wrapped up in a little package. Some of the toughest, greatest men arent always the biggest one in the playground and Rey is living proof of that.
I love how much respect Edge/Adam has for his friend Rey. When i was in my late teens early 20s when Edge started working in the WWE im ashamed to say i didnt appreciate him as a wrestler. But now he is one of my favourite current performers and one of my favourite GOATS. Im glad hes had the opportunity to come back, especially because i got to see him for the amazing star he is. So i agree with him when he says that when Rey retires people who are like how i was back then will be like 'but whos gonna fill that hole he's left now?'

Rey is a hell of a wrestling entertainer but to be brutally honest he's not much of mic guy. When he gets the mic he's cheesy. Rey can't sell with his words he's more of a wrestling showman and that's fine
