      I will try and do a video showing this for you, in a nutshell, you would deadlift the barbell off the floor and then clean and press it over your head onto your back, although for safety reasons I wouldn't recommend doing this with a heavyweight, instead as you increase your weight its best to use a smith machine or squat rack to position the barbell on your back for squats or lunges, etc, hope that helps beaut :)

Exactly we all have to start somewhere and I felt the exact same as you, I was so intimidated by all the different machines and weights but you more you keep showing up the more confidence you will build and I promise you the equipment becomes second nature. And remember you can always book a free induction at your gym or ask pts that work there to show you how to use equipment or do certain exercises that you are not sure of! This is really helpful thank you but I still don't understand how any woman can do those hip thrust in a public gym and not feel very uncomfortable if not just downright obscene. I cannot imagine doing that without thinking every man in the gym is mentally screwing me in his brain

    • @WholisticMe
      @WholisticMe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lynn, your welcome - you can join some gyms that have women only sections, however I think a lot of women feel uncomfortable to begin with working out in the gym but you have to try and shift the mindset into remembering that you are doing this for you and to improve your health and habits which is something that’s then yours for a lifetime (so who cares what other people think) you and your health is all that matters. & you’d be surprised that most people in the gym have that same mindset and are only focusing on themselves. Also maybe you could wear like a long t-shirt to help you feel more comfortable. But I totally understand how you are thinking I was the same to begin with but I promise this mindset does adjust once you start getting more comfortable in the gym x :) hope this helps a little x

      @@WholisticMe unfortunately I live in a small town where there are only two gyms and neither have a women's only section, but the one I joined is open 24 hours a day during the week do I get to go at like 11 p.m. at night when almost no one is there. @@ashleyjacoby534 Hey Ashley, Id recommend doing 20-30 minutes of cardio after weightlifting, research shows that weightlifting is more effective for wieght loss so definitely try to start doing more weights if you can. Id recommended starting with 3 sets of 8 reps and see how you get on, then when that becomes easier you can start to use the progressive overload technique and begin to up your reps or increase the weight you are using so your body is always adjusting and adapting. This is a really simplified explanation but I hope it helps, I'll try to do some more beginner video workout ideas and include the reps and sets next time x

    Does this help with arm fat

    • @WholisticMe
      @WholisticMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes! Lifting weights can definitely help you loose weight and burn fat but it's very hard to target one specific area but as your body weight decreases your arms will follow aswell, hope that helps xx

    Where can I buy smallest barbell and what size is the smallest barbell i want growth bigger glutes thank you

    • @WholisticMe
      @WholisticMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Abdi! You should be able to buy fixed barbells online, I've just checked on Amazon for you and they have a wide range, so you check them out! The smallest size is usually 10kg in the gyms.
      Also, Argos sells barbell sets for cheaper, you just have to put the weight plates on yourself but it's not hard at all! so thats another option for you if you wanted to train at home :)

      @WholisticMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@abdimohamud4604 If you want muscle growth you really need to concentrate on your nutrition and start training for hypertrophy, if you want to specifically target your glutes then i recommend using resistance bands to activate your your glutes, then focusing on Hipthursts, sumo deadlifts and some of the exercises I recommend in this video for your main workout. Also remember muscle growth takes time and consistency! Ill make some more videos soon to try and help you more :)

    Can you show us a video of what to do whenever we want to use the bigger barbell weights, I don’t know the exact name lol. But the ones on the rack and how to use them for the very first time?

    • @WholisticMe
      @WholisticMe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes of course I will, I'll show you all the steps you need to take to ensure your safe using the squat rack, I remember exactly how I felt using it the first time - so yes 100% I will work on uploading a video focused around this in the near future 😁
