Compared to Valhalla and Odyssey Origins is a million times more engaging. The story was gas and you didn’t have to run around the map completing the most repetitive land battles just to continue the story.

i restarted a second playthough about 2 weeks ago, the game is very nice! especially if youre an history buff, meeting Perikles Socrates Herodotus , the Greek Mythology etc etc very nice gameplay also! a mix of assassinations and hidden attacks and also open combat + Naval combat on ships. Not really, as a game on it's own it's whatever, but as an assassins creed game it's essentially a downgrade in almost every way in a narrative and mechanical sense compared to every other entry

I'm playing odyssey right now and I was scared to play it before because I've gotten warned but currently I'm like 5hrs in and it's just an amazing game this far imo. Kinda feels like black flag with the world exploration and ship battles but as other people have stated it's more of an rpg game and not an assassin game, but for what it is I couldn't wish for more
People would have complained no matter what. I think a game that takes place centuries before the AC brotherhood would even exist was a pretty worthwhile game to be made, and AC Odyssey did it pretty well. Plus, being able to experience a depiction of Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian war was great. AC Odyssey also sets the foundation for the inevitable conflict between supreme order and freedom, so its implications on the plot are monumental. Enjoy the game
Odyssey is a fantastic game but it’s not the best assassins creed game simply because it doesn’t tie well to the creed or doesn’t rly add much to it. But as it’s own Greek mythology and rpg it’s fantastic one of my favorite games ever

Valhalla was a fucking masterpiece but it sadly reached the wrong audience. It wasn’t an assassin creed game, it was a fantastic rpg Viking game tho… the problem was the name. Should’ve just been called “Valhalla” and it would’ve been a Ubisoft masterpiece. Due to this not many people bothered trying it and just hated it because everyone else hated it… it did reach a bigger more action loving community which got more followers for Ubisoft… ac fans may hate it but, everyone else loves it.
They needed the AC name to get attention for the game or else it maybe wouldn’t of gotten as much traction, the AC team made it so they needed the credit with the game I assume as well
With my approach for clearing games out, valhalla will prolly take me like 230 hours to complete. I love this, not a fan of AC franchise though. Which is why I love valhalla.

don't agree. I really like Odyssey. I understand stealth and the real AC flavour vanished from here onwards but with this game I had my first introduction to an RPG game and I truly had a great time with it.

It gave you more perspective on them being not a totalitarian organization but instead a group looking for freedom from struggle and wanting to provide safety. I remember watching my big brother play through AC1 back when it came out. It was such a groundbreaking game at the time. From the music to the voice acting and scenery, it really blew our minds.

Every single assassins creed has been good in its own right, crazy how a company like Ubisoft is the one producing it. Valhalla was gas bro, the story works and connects other games with the Viking age, although they had to do a lot of fiddling with the real life timeline and for some reason didn’t introduce some prominent characters they they very well could have

Unity's Parkour was the best the series ever had. Felt like you actually had control over the characters movement.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is underrated
i restarted a second playthough about 2 weeks ago, the game is very nice! especially if youre an history buff, meeting Perikles Socrates Herodotus , the Greek Mythology etc etc very nice gameplay also! a mix of assassinations and hidden attacks and also open combat + Naval combat on ships. Very good game Ac Odyssey and very underrated

I'm playing odyssey right now and I was scared to play it before because I've gotten warned but currently I'm like 5hrs in and it's just an amazing game this far imo. Kinda feels like black flag with the world exploration and ship battles but as other people have stated it's more of an rpg game and not an assassin game, but for what it is I couldn't wish for more
People would have complained no matter what. I think a game that takes place centuries before the AC brotherhood would even exist was a pretty worthwhile game to be made, and AC Odyssey did it pretty well. Plus, being able to experience a depiction of Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian war was great. AC Odyssey also sets the foundation for the inevitable conflict between supreme order and freedom, so its implications on the plot are monumental. Enjoy the game

Odyssey is a fantastic game but it’s not the best assassins creed game simply because it doesn’t tie well to the creed or doesn’t rly add much to it. But as it’s own Greek mythology and rpg it’s fantastic one of my favorite games ever

Valhalla was a fucking masterpiece but it sadly reached the wrong audience. It wasn’t an assassin creed game, it was a fantastic rpg Viking game tho… the problem was the name. Should’ve just been called “Valhalla” and it would’ve been a Ubisoft masterpiece. Due to this not many people bothered trying it and just hated it because everyone else hated it… it did reach a bigger more action loving community which got more followers for Ubisoft… ac fans may hate it but, everyone else loves it.
They needed the AC name to get attention for the game or else it maybe wouldn’t of gotten as much traction, the AC team made it so they needed the credit with the game I assume as well

You can find these things in the AC 3 prologue. Rogue is just an AC game with inverted roles, where Assassins don't act as they normally do

There was no perspective in the game whatsoever, it was just the Templars being Assassins and the Assassins being Templars.

Unity is so underrated. People just didn’t like how you could kill 9 people by pressing X once and instead had to actually plan strategically on how to kill them or just to avoid them.
The rampant bugs and tech issues at launch didn't help. Granted most of them were fixed but it was still a mess.
Lot of bugs, moving from black flag to unity was like going from top Tier to garbage.
The kill streak was the one element that made the older games so much more fun in my opinion.

Every single assassins creed has been good in its own right, crazy how a company like Ubisoft is the one producing it. Valhalla was gas bro, the story works and connects other games with the Viking age, although they had to do a lot of fiddling with the real life timeline and for some reason didn’t introduce some prominent characters they they very well could have
