Love this channel! So glad he’s friends with Matt’s Off-road Recovery or I’d never of found this channel.
I got notifications for both channels this morning and I watched the one first.

This rig is gonna be SICK!
Suggestion - use a steel yardstick (or thin flat steel stock) as a guide for accurate and smooth curves when you're getting ready to mark the original sheet metal fenders for cutting.
It bends in a consistent curve each time.
We've used this technique for years.

3/4 or 1" wide steel banding works well for that.

Paul, just make sure the A/C works and the gas filler/sending unit all works reliably. You can give Matt some grief just to mess with him a little bit. If friends don't mess with each other, they're probably mad about something. That MORRVair is quite a project. This Yoda will make a good match when you guys get out in the boonies with your friends.

    Hi Michelle,
Love the build. Everyone in my circle of friends knows what FJ Friday is!
Lots of good choices are being made here. And I'm glad you are considering adding skid plates to the rock sliders... just no dimple die holes to hang up on. The bottom ought to be smooth as a baby's butt!
I can't wait to see the front fenders being made.

Love how you do more than most youtubers do in a single day, and instead of just 1 day showing multiple in 1 video and proceed to say did not do enough the other day 😂. What a machine.

I replaced 36, 48" fluorescent tubes with 27, 48" ballast bypass led tubes (6000K) in my 24x36 garage. Daylight temps, brighter, less watts and longer lifetime for about $150. Had to rewire the fixtures. Awesome results. Never looked back. Oh Yeah. No Hum!! Love your videos. Can't wait for the next one

Ain't nothin an old country boy can't do once he puts his mind to it. Some with little or no formal training. Give em a tool and they will figure it out. Paul fits this description. Love seeing this build progress.

People may talk trash about you cutting up a classic Toyota but once it's done there won't be a single one that didn't wish it was theirs.
I wish I had a shop and tools like yours so I could build my own projects, : ) Building is a huge part of the enjoyment.

I know you are receiving quite a few suggestions but figured I would add one. Maybe don't weld the box and cab together via the rock sliders. During heavy articulation or high impact, the twisting in the frame may cause buckling and warping of the body panels. Thanks for the wonderful videos! Cheers from Canada!

I just wish we had more reproduction chassis around for stuff other than 60's American cars. I definitely think these days there is enough of a market for it. I also cry when I see rare chassis cut up.
There are just so many old cars that are just gonna disappear but we could legitimately be reproducing these things again. I can't wait to see what this looks like when it's done, it really is sweet.

    I love your shop!
I have fluorescent lights like that in my shop and I got so tired of replacing bulbs and ballasts. So I bought drop in LED tubes for the fixtures. They run off of 110 volt so you just have to bypass the ballast. It's been 2 years and I've never had to do any maintenance on my shop lights and do not expect to do any soon. And the new LED bulbs draw only 15% the fluorescence energy used.
    Hope this helps. 💡🌞

In a work environment with lots of flourescents eg large retail, they are ongoing work starters, ballasts and tubes. The worst I had was a ballast that char started a small fire.... not fun.
Halogens had their own problems, transformers, push in or screwed in fittings burning out...
LEDs are relatively simple, now cheap, great light, cheap to run and generally reliable, no brainer...

Paul, something I've found that makes marking steel for fab work easier is a Markal Silver-Streak pencil. Fits in your pocket and marks like soap stone, but is always sharp and doesn't break. I love mine. Awesome job on this build. Thanks for all of the awesome ideas, I'm currently gathering parts and trying to come up with a plan for my build. This thing looks awesome 👍

Do you mean the wooden or the mechanical version? I am using the wooden ones but thinking about upgrading to the mechanical pencils so I don't have to sharpen it. It also sounds like it marks better on less than idea metal surfaces.

      @theforgotten081 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ToddKing I have the blue mechanical version. The insert is around 3/32" thick but can be sharpened with the cap on the pencil. It marks most metal as long as it isn't greasy
