I hope you do not mind that I shared this even though I felt it was fake. I even asked the OP more questions for the story to try make sense of it but even that imo had loop holes. I get stories like this sometimes and I feel like I just wanted to show an example. In the end there is no rules for any story submission but we will all be the judges in the end. I just wanted to see what you all thought also cause I was definitely confused 😅

Maybe it can be a new gimmick if you think its fake. That way you can steer into the absurdity of the dumb stuff instead of trying to make sense of it. Something like Drama FFrauds or something.

OP made one massive mistake early on in this fake ass story: They said that their Dark Knight character had their RL name. Are you telling me "Zack" never noticed that and thought "Wow, that's the EXACT name of one of my students?"

While it sounds far fetched, back in the day when I went to pre-order FFXIV (yeah that long ago) I found out the manager at my local GameStop played FFXI on the same server as myself, and we shared an LS. We never really developed much of a friendship though, so no other awesome story or plot twists worthy of a story here though. I've met a few other people IRL that played FFXI/FFXIV but on different servers. So, it is possible
The very first FC I joined in XIV the leader ended up being the state next to me (being in the Northern Virginia/ DC & MD area), that's actually pretty close. One of the person I became friends with in the FC was an ex of one of my friends irl, he saw my friends list on facebook once and was like, "how do you know 'xyz'? that's my ex" LOL the world is a small place frfr.
Some things are very off in this story, for example being a raid LEADER with an account that was supposedly somebody else and nobody noticed? then praising self being in few weeks only VERY GOOD while never even having touched glams, and we are talking about HEAVENSWARD endgame, not shadowbringers or so where it'd be more believable, HW raid was the most toxic from what is told and most difficult, then coincidentally, while the character name is the RL name, the teacher Zack never knew it was the OP this whole time? I know such coincidence as somebody of RL can be somebody online I have been through it myself, but the story setup and sudden jumps and odd ......... skips of story. Going back to he green miqo'te with RL name, further about it was not being addressed and I don't know any sane person who would just see their RL name used as usernames and be "OK" with it, or have a dialogue inwardly but never say anything about it outloud. This person was very good at explaining their feeling/detailed expression what is going on, so there is no way the OP has some sort of issue being unable to speak up if they are able to speak so comfortably to a random teacher in detail (Which is a great thing by the way, being able to open up). So OP being suddenly not stand up for self and take it is odd. Shu telling to get on raid now because "WE" must raid suggests me the OP doesn't realize they cannot login on the SAME account at the SAME time- this already has me convinced the story is fake. This is the first time I am very doubtful about the story, and it wasn't even from the teacher being Zack, but before that I wrote already this comment. So the teacher-thing threw me off and I knew then this is a bit of too much creativity put together. OP seems more paranoid about in-game stalking while it is RL is another red flag, anyone who went through such abuse of RL relationships would not even be worried about games, just make new account, and normally all is good. But in RL you cannot just "change address". Not to mention Shu's ACCOUNT+password was with the EX, not otherway around, in that case, I'd understand more of the paranoia....? If I misunderstood anything, please correct me!!!

This one has me for a loop, I am a teacher and my students know I game and even if they have the same game, I have to tell them that I can not play a game with them because that is something that could get me in trouble as a teacher. I never give out my names in game so even if I did somehow play them in game I dont think I would tell them. lol
This sounds fake as anything. Other stories at least seem believable, but the this one doesn't sound right with the weird choices and coincidences

So I'm listening to this story a second time, because it just sounds weird to me and sadly pretty fake. Here are some things I noticed, that were confusing to me.
OP told us at the very beginning, that they knew their way around MMOs and that their boyfriend saw them playing MMOs when they weren't busy with other stuff. But OP didn't know that they couldn't play together on the same account? You cannot tell me that OP was really that naive, unless they were like 12 or something. Because OP really believed their boyfriend, when he told them to log in and that they would do a raid. How? I played some MMOs and I do not know a single MMO where it's possible that two people log into the same account at the same time. OP should have known this and yet they didn't find it odd that their boyfriend said stuff like that?
The next thing is. I played FF14 since A Realm Reborn already had some Patches so I'm not too sure about this but... at least in A Realm Reborn you HAD to play another job or you couldn't finish your main job. This was a thing! I still remember this so vividly, because if I remember correctly I had to level a Thaumaturge to at least level 15 (or 30, not sure anymore) to be able to become a WHM. And I don't think tthat they changed that until Stormblood but I'm not sure. If someone remembers this, please corrct me if I'm wrong. But my point is. If this is true, then OP should have known about other jobs, because their boyfriend must have had at least one more class to choose as an option. Even if the boyfriend did all this beforehand, OP must have seen the option to change the class, when they put on knew armor. Especially if he played before Heavensward. It was a thing in A Realm Reborn. And sorry for my bad english, I'm still learning. And before I have an even larger comment, I just say... the story doesn't add up at all. There are so many things that don't make sense. So either OP is lying about some stuff or the whole story is fake. Especially because I think I read about the wedding online and it was a whole other story. It almost seems like OP found some stories on Google or something like that and created their own story.
Maybe they found an online article about weird things that happened in FF14 and that someones teacher was also a player of FF14. I even know people who wanted to become teachers and are really good players in FF14. This can happen. But all together in this story, it sounds wrong. Too many weird concidences and too many things that don't add up. So yeah... I'm pretty sure it's fake. Still an interesting story.
P.S. I'm normally someone who believes every single story and even I'm sceptical.
I feel you... Its not the teacher thing that threw me off (I have several colleges that play WoW, the game I played for 14 years), its all the little filler things that me doubletake. I'm not going so far as to call OP a lier, but I do believe that some things were left out and/or embellished.

Story sounds fake, not because the situation itself seems fake, but because there's a lot of inconsistencies like that.
I wondered about that, too... though I was more surprised how anyone could be okay with someone changing their name to their real name... I can believe the teacher part (there are so many weird coincidents in the world that this is perfectly possible), but there are just too many holes for it to make sense.
I don't think they played the Miqo. It sounded like they were still playing on the Paladin during the raid part, or at least when talking to Zack.
I was in the hospital recently, and my night nurse was talking to one of the other staff about FFXIV. meeting people at random like this is certainly possible. Turned out they were even on the same server as me, and we play together now lol
Now, that's soo cool seeing a nurse play FF14. I'm a nursing major too lol so it just makes me sonhappy to see people in healthcare playing this game!
How is it a big reveal when the teacher "said my character's name" when the OP said earlier the character was named after them? "Zack" would have noticed his student was the person he was playing with a long time ago. And theyre getting married the same year they meet someone in game? This has to be a fake story.

While I agree with most of the others that this sounds pretty fishy, the teacher part isn't too crazy. I had a math teacher in high school who was a huge gamer and would game with students if they told him their online ids and if he had the game. And if he didn't, he would check out whatever they were playing to see how he liked it first before doing any coop stuff.
The rest though definitely sounds like some weird fanfic or, if true, really heavily exaggerated at parts to keep it entertaining.

0% chance this is real, HOWEVER, suspending my disbelief... I do think that this was a straight couple. The reason I think Shu got mad at OP wanting to play AST and also doing glams was because it was Shu's account/character? (ngl, got kind of lost listening as the story really didnt make much cohesive sense). I think Shu was going to just use OP to play for him when he was busy/willing to let her play and just do things for him for his account, and that is why he was so controlling. I could not see any reason why he would get mad at OP for doing anything of the sort, unless he had ulterior motives for allowing OP to play on his account and his character? I am rather confused on where this lvl 60 Dark Knight Miqo'te came from tho, and if he had OP playing that instead of his main character???
The funny part of all this is FF14 has offered the unlimited free trial since like... 2017 (according to a casual google search). Now, this supposedly happened in Heavensward, but even then there was a free trial period, so why didn't OP just make a free account to mess around with? Why didn't OP try to fight to play with Shu as their healer? How did Shu not notice the new healer in his job list? How does an OP who 'knows their way around MMOs' not read quest names and tooltips? And, perhaps most damningly, why didn't OP just make her own toon in the first place? I can believe being worried about messing up your bf's character and being passive that way, but a new character should be perfect for messing around on!
None of it makes sense, but it was a fun read. 10/10 story, the teacher being Zach was the icing on the cake, love how he never realized the miqo with his student's name was his student.

(maybe cause it was back in HW times when you still needed cross-class skills and paladin was the laughing stock of the tank world, not to mention throwing somebody into SAVAGE on a NEW JOB on a NEW CHARACTER with YOUR IRL NAME as the GROUP LEADER during the expansion that almost killed raiding seems off... maybe OP forgott stuff or left out things but 2 plus 2 ain't making 7 any way you dice it)

Recent stories make me feel old. You can just tell by the way the OPs write that they are YOUNG. Like yoouuuung. And most of these dramas make me wonder "are these like teenage kids?" And most of the times they are. Makes me wonder if ffxiv has any people that are older than 30... or all the drama is with teens cause they are in that age?
If I had a sibling who was interested in playing a MMO with me, I'd be ecstatic as opposed to angry. This story comes off as intentionally harmful to me, as if the OP wants to discourage people from playing this game with friends/relatives or has an ulterior motive to push a "don't share your account" narrative. I always wanted my siblings and real world friends to show interest in the game, none of them have, except one, who is a friend, but he doesn't play much. :(
Firstly, if you share the same IP address, SE wouldn't notice; Second, if the IPs used by the account are always the same set of IPs within a localised area, that is also not suspicious. SE only gets suspicious if the IP is constantly bumping around the globe, that is the only time they take action themselves outside of an outright report from the account owner.

It doesn't sound legit to me but one thing is very clear. Don't EVER share account info people. Not only is it against TOS but security is important for mostly all MMORPG's. I trust people about as far as I can throw them, reason why I use an authenticator. Yeah the subscription is a little more expensive but its better than one day discovering your account has been hacked and you finally login to an alt that's missing all their gear and standing naked in Orgrimmar. That alt even had a complete set of Tier 3 from original Naxx 40 man. Oof that still hurts to remember but lesson learned.😖😖😖😖

If a teacher was playing with a student and they didn't know, that would be wildly inappropriate. It would still be even if they do know. People will assume the worst of the teacher and it would likely lead to a firing. Even talking about relationships would be crossing the line for a mentor.

@@Wastingsometimehere I dont think so. Maybe its a country-thing, but when I went to school, teachers (or rather some of them) were adults you could confide in if there were problems with your peers. Asking them for advice in personal matters is perfectly fine in my books and I dont see any issues with power dynamics and the like. Sure, you can always assume the worst, but give teachers some credit here: some of them are legit concerned about their students and some legit worry if they seem off. And there is no crime in asking. Here in Germany we have a concept called something like "trust teachers", teachers, students can go to when they have either trouble with peers or even at home. Dont know if the US has something similar (I suppose so...), so maybe this Zach was some sort of "trust teacher"... just an elder with a good reputation among students.

Thankfully, my big gaming drama story didn't happen in XIV, but in WoW. It was almost 16 years ago, but I'm also not going to talk about it here in the comments as it's long dead. The aftermath of said drama though, was me starting to play XIV instead!
So...I had my own XIV account years ago, played from ARR to StB, moved in with my BF (whom I also met in XIV, believe it or not!) shortly after and stopped playing for a while. Came back for ShB, still on my account, then when we finally got our own place (we had been living with his parents as it's expensive out here!) and I took another break. A few weeks before Endwalker came out, I wanted to start playing again, though at this point BF hadn't played since the start of ShB, he's just got different interests now. The problem was, I'd need to re-buy all the expacs for pc instead of ps4, which would be a bit of an inconvenience at the time for us financially...So! BF in all his wisdom simply bought EW for PC, for his legacy account, which is what I now play on! Yes, that means I had to re-level from scratch (I don't want to use his character, but I do collect all the timed event stuff for him ♥)
Much more believable and happier story than whatever this wattpad drama sounding story is.

Gods fakest story. Even if you buy the conceit of the teacher (which you'd be a fool to) they don't get back into ff14 until they're 24, yet give an update on their teacher at the end. The only way they'd still stay in touch with them post HS was if they played, which they weren't. Not to mention the million other problems obv.

I have a character along with my mum and brother on the PS5 and we cant raid together, I had to make an account on my laptop to help my mum with her story and raids. As you said you cant raid together on a shared account XD

okay I did the math... so the OP started to play the game on their boyfriends account around heavenward since cap was level 60, OP was 16 years old at the and in high school.. making the start of the story was 8 years ago. Their teacher playing doesn't come off as fake because gaming is a lot more common now as is playing MMO. I dated a guy who had a teacher in high school that was a gamer and would play WoW with their students, even making a guild.
Would like to point out, not once did the OP said "shu" and her played at the same time. It sounds more like "shu" was making the OP play for them so they could reap the rewards w/o having to do the work. And most likely hated that the OP did what they felt was "stupid stuff" instead of just being a good slave and do content for them on the jobs they wanted.
As much as it can sound fake... it's not an impossible story, the OP is young and was young through out the story, and recalling stuff from 8 years ago. Also if they are in fact autistic that can account for the more ramble nature of the retelling, and the "plot holes" in the story.. as well as the wording used.
personally speaking stuff like this can and does happen, i used to account share ff11 with my younger brother when i was 19. And to get "more time" id have to level up jobs he didn't like. Id also get on my (at the time) Irl boyfriends account (we lived together) just to do the island sanctuary stuff and got paid in gil. (he hated gathering).

the gender/bio-sex of the OP doesn't matter... a controlling boyfriend will make them do stuff.. at the time on heavensward, healers were not that great, and astro was seen as a bad healer. so Shu not wanting the OP to play healer, more so astro... isn't impossible.. and kinda believable...
I want to believe this isn't real, but I hate to break it to some people that people like Shu do actually exist... and I have met the rare one or two that have said girls shouldn't be playing FFXIV. It was bizarre.

Okay, this story sounds like bullshit, but it's not impossible. HOWVER I am curious about something. Hell once it turned out that one of the people I got to know through competitive Pokémon lived like, 10 minutes away from me.
Is it all that weird for a student to talk about if they're not feeling well with a teacher in the US? Where I live that'd be considered normal if you've got a teacher you like to ask for advice and teachers are kind of expected to do general well-being checks, or at least refer you to the nurse if they pick up on something and step in if there's say, abuse at home and stuff or to refer you to mental health care if needed.
Totally this, yeah. When I went to school, it was perfectly normal to refer to a teacher you trust to confide in. I guess its a US-thing that teachers are forbidden (?) to associate with their students on a personal level?

I find these "fake" quite entertaining. There are some points that can be easily proven false, but the teacher situation is not unheard of.
Also, i think it is important to remember that most children in schools struggle with talking to their teachers and telling them about their struggles shouldn't be seen as a negative. Some kids and adult students talk to their teachers/tutors about what is going on in real life.
Hell, I wish i had. I kept quiet about mine, and my teachers were very concerned about my schoolwork. I think it is important for a teacher to reach out just in case because it could potentially save a students life or help them understand the situations they are currently in.
Of course, if the teacher breaks boundaries and asks or says inappropriate things, then they should be dealt with accordingly.
