Hi! A fresh rad tech here from another side of the world! I'm so thankful to have found your videos bcos it is so relatable. I'm keen in joining CT scan and still doing gen rad. It's so refreshing to see how the same job works overseas! Looking forward to binge watching all your videos!
Hi Mimi! currently just got laid off from my job in tech and debating if I should go back to school and go into the medical field. Been reading about radiology tech and found your video. I’m also from the bay and wanted to know what program you did and how is the job opportunities/pay as a radiological tech.
Hey Mimi, if you don’t mind sharing, where did you take your accelerated program? At which institution? How long did it take, and did you have to get a CNA certificate to apply? 😊
To be honest, not really. It really depends on who you work for. Small privately owned clinics might be more flexible. Hospital jobs- no unless you are a per diem tech. Just expect to work a required amount of days per month but you can choose which shifts that are available to pick up as needed by the hospital
Great video , I just got into the programs and will start in April , I really would like a 3day shift so I can still work on the side, people keep telling me that’s not likely , , but I know it’s best to ask someone who has experience like yourself . How can I land a 3 day , 12 hour shift
Hi! I talked about my journey getting my job out of school in the following Q&A! I can only speak to my own experience, but if you want to check it out, here’s the video! 🥰 th-cam.com/video/GEH98ZKqb4Q/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing your experience. What were the overall courses like, its challenges ? And now that you are in the workforce, did u think it is a good career choice. I'm debating between MRI and CT.
Ive heard that CT is more running around and all over the place as compared to MRI is more slower paced and in a way easier. I've spoken to a couple MRI techs but it's all preferences
It’s common for per diem techs in hospitals. Part time gets promised hours but will probably be sporadic days and times. Depends on who you work for. Best to check out your local job listings to see what’s available
Hi, I've been a registered x-ray tech in Atlanta, GA for a year now. I am still learning about the different modalities to see which one I want to pursue. Are there any 6-month MRI programs that offers online education that you know of?
hi mimi, is it true Rad techs with an MRI creds make more than a MRI only tech ? i was told that mri only techs cap out at 48$ while a rad tech with mri cert caps out at 68$
Depends where you work and what state I assume. Can’t say anything for certain- I can only speak on my experience but in California we can make more than $68. Seen some techs make way more than that who only do MRI, but again. Just depends where you work, experience and other factors.
Thank you so much for this video such helpful information. I’m currently in school and this helped out so much to make sure I get the most out of my clinicals. Which school did you attend?
Hi Mimi! Would you say being an mri tech is low stress? Did you have a bachelors prior or just had the pre reqs and went into the mri program? Also would you say it wasn’t difficult finding a job as having mri only? Would love to chat since I’m looking into this career over nursing!
Hi everyone, an updated Q&A is now up! th-cam.com/video/GEH98ZKqb4Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2iGPDkVnjbOUeL6W

What made you go from nursing to MRI tech? I am deliberating between the two and would love to get your thoughts on it! Thanks for the vid!
Did you ever choose one? I’m in the same boat right now.
I responded to this comment in the latest Q&A on my channel :) th-cam.com/video/GEH98ZKqb4Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5tqU1EwNOmbyJh1I
I’m looking to leave nursing for mri now also. Rn 3 years
I love seeing girlies in the imaging field 😊

Your video brings me hope and motivation! As an MRI tech are you able to create your own schedule weekly?

How has it been finding a job as just MRI tech versus having your radiology license and your MRI license?

Are weekends only, 12hr day shifts a common option for MRI techs? Hoping to not work 5 days a week

Sorry I’m MR only so I don’t know about cross training.
I saw that Johns Hopkins university offers a 6 month mri program. Check it out
Thanks for making me aware of that! I will look into it.
What school did you go to?
Great video
Thank you for watching
What do you suggest a student do to make sure they get scan time practice in clinical? Is that really up to the student?
Video on updated q&a is coming soon and I addressed your comment ☺️
Hi what is the best way to become a mammographer technologist. Is this the same as a radiologic technician.
Radiology tech first then can cross train into mammogram
What state do you work in? Am seriously considering this field
pretty sure she’s located in California!
