Echos ship is called the Remora and it is an Imperial advanced science devision Gozanti-class cruiser
Screen Crush's Star Wars knowledge is so bad it's embarrassing . The opening character iconography are not easter eggs.
0:32 That's R1-J5 from Star Wars Resistance which is set 34 years after the Battle of Endor.
0:57 That is NOT a Gen 1 TK Storm Trooper armour. That's an AT - DP Pilot helmet from Star Wars Rebels.
An that could also Sabine Wren's helmet as opposed to Bo Katan's.
You guys need to do a fact check and get someone else to check before you write and publish a video and stop reaching so hard for a certain number of Easter to include in your thumbnail Eggs that aren't.
This is just an unnecessary opening animatic of iconography Lucasfilm use for any animated Star Wars project which is differs from the one they use for live action which are probably just designed to extend the episode time for some unexplained reason.
We’ve seen that ship before, it’s your MOM !
the biggest return in this episode is Crosshair's toothpick
LOL, I was like yooo the toothpick is back
I felt so excited when I saw it
I said this out loud as soon as he came on screen checking the perimeter!😅😅
We usually don't work with Regs.
Bro I was thinking the same thing😂
Thank you for the Vet assistance number. That was a totally class act. I served in the Navy and I noticed Crosshair's PTSD. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Thanks again for me mentioning it. To me, it meant a lot. You're class act! Appreciate you!
Agree Vet assistance number and acknowledgement of vets well needed.
Agreed that was a great touch. Although like the Bad Batch’s reluctance to trust the Empire, all too many vets don’t trust the VA. Honestly it’s not my first choice for medical care and they are slower than molasses in January. But never being able to hold down a steady job since I got out of the National Guard, I’m glad I have some medical care available.
thank you for your service. Not only that, Ryan went one step further and welcomes them home, I knew the significance when a vietnam veteran spoke at my class and said lots of soldiers werent welcomed home, so give them a welcome!
Is it me or does the animation in this episode kinda sucks. The story is also awful. This was a bad episode imo…
I think a huge congrats goes to whoever decided to have Hunter and Crosshair just nod to each other to say "ok, we crossed that bridge, we are family."
So much emotion with no dialog at all.
I'm glad Crosshair has Badger as a support animal. He's like the dad who refused to give his kid a puppy and ends up being the dog's master.
Yes, that is a perfect scenario that I also saw when watching this episode. I also seen how if you domesticate a dangerous animal that it can be used for protection. Symbolizing how in the real world people are afraid of Pitbulls and Rottweilers but if you train them them correctly and show them lots of love, they are not dangerous. I don’t know if they meant to do that or not but that’s what I took from episode three and four.
Its Batcher
@@BuckyBarnesATL I hope they explore that aspect more in the following episodes. I noticed how Batcher(?) responded to his commands in the previous episode in that bar scene. It reminded me of Brad Pitt's character and his Pitt Bull in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But I might be reaching.
@@eviljigglypuff2254 Thank you, I've not seen it written down and Omega has a thick accent. Tech = Tick, and so on.
Correction it’s Batcher, like bad batch er
love the scene when omega called crosshair baby brother
I can hardly believe they don't bring up or joke about her being older more in the show so far🤷♀
It is pretty crazy to think it's just a show about child soldiers who've been abandoned
Crosshair lining up the clone helmets had me tearing up a lil ngl
For real!
I know right I shows he different or back to normal
Same so emotional
also hunters helmet not the current tk helmet
Oh man they butchered that segment
He also called the at at-dp pilot a tk trooper. And later he called crosshairs elite squad troopers tks
Yeah that made my blood boil lol
They are wrong with this one every single time
That's not hunters helmet either. It's one of those atdp pilots from rebels
I'm continually astonished by how mature the storytelling can be in the animated shows, whereas the live-action ones seem made mostly for children. I love this show a lot
As soon as Omega said they would have to reset the main power breaker, I said they were doing a Jurassic Park homage. Then she said it was "way out back" and I knew it. Then the "pumping the breaker" erased any doubt i had. At that point i was certain that Wrecker was going to have to deal with Raptors
Crosshair’s musical leitmotif is so good. Kevin Kiner is a genius man. So much emotion in that piece of music.
Can we just take a moment and admire how nice crosshairs clone armour is
Looking forward to see if and how he customizes it.
The helmet is iffy in my opinion but I love the skinny look
@@BigFloppalicious completely respect your opinion
I would've liked your comment but I'm not gonna mess with 111 likes.
Wrecker giving Crosshairs and Hunter a massive hug at the end. :) Priceless!
Wrecker is spending too much time with Omega; he's getting very huggy. It'll be ok as long as he is careful...
@@edwardsmith7131 ???
what u think he's goin' soft?!
he's BEEN soft!
well a softy with muscles;
I know 8 of 'em.
Don't forget he gets to wrestle an alien alligator this season! 🐊
I love the detail of the tattooed side of Hunter’s face being towards the audience and in the shadows when talking to/arguing with Crosshair through most of the episode. Then once their beef is somewhat resolved and they’re gearing up to go home, we see the light side of Hunter’s face in the light again.
Also, I think along with PTSD, Crosshair is having issues with his hand due to the torture he endured during imprisonment, as well as possible nerve damage from the toxic gas he inhaled in the episode “Tipping Point” from season 2.
Thank you for your support for us veterans!
Although I luckily do not suffer from PTSD, I think it is wonderful you made such a direct point of calling it out and sharing resources for those who do suffer from it!
When hunter dropped down into the hole in the ice ,and the light was steaming through falling snow onto his hemet ,just beautiful.
It's truly astonishing how the weekly animated series can deliver a Star Wars story so much better than the multi-million dollar studio productions could
I love the scene when Crosshair teaching Omega about being sniper
everyone else got to teach her something (defusing bombs, tracking, shooting accurately, literally flying a ship) it's the perfect time he get his turn
As a vet of the war in Iraq with the Army National Guard I appreciate the attention to the issue of PTSD. I suffer from it and know dozens of others that do as well. This episode and the previous one on this planet are a big deal for me and I hope other veterans. I think that you are right that his hand is trembling from PTSD but I don’t think it’s about not wanting to hurt anyone anymore. Crosshair’s is a soldier and he wants a purpose, kinda why he chose to stay with the empire than stay with the crew to a fate unknown. His hands probably had frostbite from brining back Mayday. Frostbite can cause nerve damage in outer extremities (fingies and tootsies). My brother feel through the ice of a lake in Minnesota, frostbite to his feet means he has to pay attention to how his feet look in winter because he can’t feel them anymore, so he can’t feel when his feet are getting too cold. Nerve damage to his hands, let alone Crosshair’s trigger finger, means he doesn’t have that sensation of squeezing the trigger, quick trigger pull can affect your accuracy. Now this frostbite and hand tremors is a constant reminder of what he did (killing a snot nosed officer) and what he lost (a clone that reminded him of his humanity). Combat injuries combined with PTSD is a terrible combination can lead to decline in mental health and can lead to suicide. Crosshair wants to be part of his old crew but the thing that made him special he can’t do because of his hands which then remind him about Mayday. In Crosshair’s mind the crew may not want him back because what good is a sniper that’s only 54% accurate.
Sorry for the long rant and the tangent on the dangers of snowmobiling on Minnesota lakes in the winter (the summer you’re much less likely to get frostbite). This episode means a lot to me and helps me with the memories of the soldiers that have lost the struggle with PTSD.
Very interesting story, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your story and welcome home!
My Grandfather landed on D-Day and fought his way across France and Germany and even helped liberate a concentration camp. He earned a bronze star and purple heart on D-Day. I know most of what I know he did from researching military records and using a site called Fold3. Most people thought he wouldn't talk about the war, but even as a kid I could tell he couldn't talk about it. He only ever would give 'highlights' when asked. You could tell the details haunted him. He and my grandmother had separate rooms because he'd wake with night terrors. I am sure he had PTSD but no one knew how to deal with it back then.
@@bookon999Amazing stories, those veterans went through hell. The difficult thing I’ve learned from talking with veterans from that era or Korea or Vietnam is that there was very little help available. You hear stories of them getting mad and yelling often pulling knives of their wife or children. I have heard this a few times and even the most decorated US solider of WW2 Audy Murphy’s wife divorced him over this. If you gave into the “shell shock” as it was called back then, you were weak or not manly. You couldn’t talk about it because no one would understand what you went through or had to do because they weren’t there. Back then even for a man to talk about his normal emotions wasn’t normal. Let alone dealing with the horrors of war. This was also a time when the Veterans Administration Hospitals were doing high pressure water “hydro” therapy or electro shock therapy on anyone they could. Then there was the VA performing lobotomies on veterans who “had difficulty adjusting to civilian life” too much emotional trauma, so let’s cut, stab, or poke a bit of the “emotional center” of the brain off. Many didn’t survive long after the procedures. Others needed significant assistance to live any kind of life worth living after the procedure. A few made it through ok. These procedures went until the late 1960s. So being the manly men they were and not wanting to look crazy crammed their feelings down. Several never talk about their war experience.
It’s kinda funny but when I see these old men with their veteran hats on, I thank them for their service. When they hear I am a veteran they do open up. Obviously much different wars between Iraq and WW2 but old soldiers can still relate to each other’s stories about bad food, being separated from family, and the crazy things that happened with guys you never knew before but would lay your life down for.
@@howitzer13b I have a close friend who still has issues from Desert Storm. Thankfully he was able to get real help eventually, but they can only do so much. There was 15 years or so of telling him to man up and everything will be fine. Marines are tough, so be tough. It's obviously not about toughness. I hope you'll continue to heal.
1:04 that’s hunter
I love how Crosshair is a lot expressive more than he's ever been. He wasn't even like this during Clone Wars
Yeah Crosshair having PTSD from the past going to be a challenge to overcome his PTSD.
The arctic bird was such a nice touch. Like Ashoka’s owl. His character development is back on track to be good and forgiven
Another reason why Crosshair is suffering PTSD is because of his inhibitor chip was removed, this is seen and in Star Wars the Clone Wars season 6 and Star Wars Rebels.
Echos ship is called the Remora and it is an Imperial advanced science devision Gozanti-class cruiser
Another great Bad Batch review @Screencrush, thank you. Echo's ship seems to be the same one he used to lead a team to rescue Howzer and other clones on the way to Tantiss in Bad Batch Season 2, episode 14. I noticed in today's episode, when they come out of hyperspace before landing on Barton IV, that the port side leech vessel that Fireball and Echo were in that breeched the Imperial transport was missing. Wonder if Rex or one of the other Clones is using it on another mission?
@@michaell7102 yeah it is that same ship
I think it was pretty cool to see Crosshair petting Batcher at the end...something small but shows he has compassion
I think you missed some importance of when cross hair told hunter off.
This was important as it showed him caring but it also knocked hunter off his high horse and made them more equal for their next conversation.
"See.. they always find a way to work it out.... and there's no blood this time, that's progress!" (Echo)
11:00 my prediction... im sure many if not all of Bad Batch will die. But Crosshair will for sure sacrifice himself. Like make peace of his bad choices
I find myself watching these videos not for the breakdown anymore, but when, where, and how the "your mom" joke gets thrown in there. Makes me laugh everytime
I watch them for all the errors
Very good episode reference to tech was needed. Omega trying to get them to talk. Hunters out of character aggressiveness towards cross hairs. But cross hair was on point that hunter felt guilty and annoyed that he didn't rescue Omega again. She rescued herself from cad bain as well. Definitely hit a nurve. Love Batcher, my MVP of the episode.
At 9:00 You mentioned ECHO's ship, it's called The Ramora : a transport utilized by Echo during his time with the Clone Underground. The ship was once a mining vessel that had been retrofitted for stealth infiltration,
@ScreenCrush ☝🖖🙏
Crosshair lining up the helemets… damn 🥺😭
Yes, thank you for your service, Vets, and welcome home.
Ryan, thanks for translating the Aurebesh.
The Kiners' music and Dee Bradley Baker differentiating between all the voices he does always impresses me. And Michelle Ang is in her 30s, but does just the cutest voice for Omega.
Echo may not have been with the team long, but he knew how Hunter and Crosshair got along and resolved their differences.
I think you’re right about Dee Bradley Baker. His vox throughout all the animations have been great but not only does he give the Batch different voices but totally different attitudes and personalities.
He needs to be nominated for some kind of award! Not sure if there is a category for that. He is amazing! I wonder if he voices one character at a time or if he just switches voices while doing the whole script?
I teared up when Crosshair was placing the Clone Helmets on the crates. I cried during the Mayday episode.
The video quality in this episode was incredible also.
It’s really breathtaking how far the animation quality has come in these sister series.
I'm surprised he didn't think about the sensors being like how they keep the spider creatures away from chopper base in rebels!
That was my first thought as well.
We before Rebels in the Star Wars Time line, remember S1 E1 they saved a young Kenan Jarris jedi padawan
Another detail that I noticed is when Crosshair is putting the helmets of the Barton-IV security force onto the memorial, he starts with the three he met: Mayday, Hexx, and Veetch
The creed song when tech fell got me 😂😂😂
I'm still going to point out that Crosshair's hand twitching is looking to be the same as Hemlock's. Strong possiblity it's a result of the gas he was exposed to last season.
And with Hemlock's constant self exposure, its possible that his hand got so bad that it required covering up with his single glove that he's always clutching like Crosshair. Both have issues with the SAME hand, so I'm not sure it's a result of PTSD. While that would be an interesting character development for Crosshair, i just don't see that as the likely option.
I also think the empire experimenting/ torturing Crosshair might have added to his arm debilitating, as well as his PTSD.
I bet my lunch money that Echo's ship is from Corellia
Same lol
I truly had no idea that one person does the voice for every clone. That's incredible!
As a veteran who supports a Luke Skywalker wrist, I was super appreciative of your nod to others with the link. Thank you.
I'm loving this season of the Bad Batch thus far, I'm so hyped for Episode 6.
We'll get episode 6 and 7 next week.
Incredible episode, this show continues to blow me away. Appreciate you providing the VA line for vets suffering from PTSD Ryan, you're one of the great ones.
This episode was not at all what I was expecting, and it was exponentially BETTER than anything I thought would happen. Never in a million years would I have thought that one of the "return"s the title referred to would be a return to Barton 4.
AT-DP driver helmet from rebels not a gen one tk
yeah
The moment i seen crosshair with his CF99 armour back on i cheered! Glad to see him back with the squad!
As much as I love the idea that Crosshair's hand shaking is a form of PTSD, Hemlock's hand has a similar shake to it
It's probably due to testing for M counts, or some other form of experimentation
I was really worried they were going to breeze past "the talk" and have it have occurred offscreen before the episode started - especially when it actually opened on Omega waking up on Pabu. I'm so glad they drew it out and actually had it happen onscreen the way it did. Ya gotta wonder, though, just how tense that flight from the moon of Ryloth to Pabu must've been, since it's obvious no one cleared any air yet. They just rode in silent recrimination and suspicion the whole way.
Damn what a fantastic show.
Love Doug pointing out how the Ice-worm creature is similar to the sandworms from Dune. Plus the beacons definitely act like the shield walls that protect the cities on Arrakis from Sandworms. Awesome reference!
Was hoping you'd call out the closing shot: The camera pulling away from the snowy scene shaped like a clone trooper helmet.
Echo's ship is called The Remora
Great break down been a fan of you for minute, this episode hit me close being a soldier and see life after my deployment thanks for letting everyone the awareness for PTSD…
14:52 Interesting fact, that is how large breakers work in real life. Breakers close with a mechanism that slams the contacts together to avoid arc damage. Smaller breakers, like in our house, can accomplish this with our strength moving a small lever (the handle). But for larger breakers, it takes more strength than we can muster to activate the mechanism, so they have a spring that needs to be charged with multiple pumps.
What did you think of the episode?
It was good
Good, but the intro helmet you call a tk helmet is actually the helmet of an AT-DP driver from rebels.
Another great episode that had me on the edge of feels. I swear, they all better make it to space Greece at the end lol. Rescued clones from Tantiss, the young clones from episode 2 of this season, etc. I know it would be a Hollywood type ending but Filoni really made us root for these misfits and I would like to believe the reason we never hear about them in the rest of Star wars and after, is that they are all living practically in space Greece. Granted, Rex and company out in the wilds during Rebels, brings up questions as to why he didn’t retire to space Greece. Whatever happens I’m sure it will be memorable.
It was great.
Best episode!
SUCH A GOOD EPISODE! The emotional growth and connection, just perfect. Great storytelling.
0:16 they do change, but the animated shows have animated helmets/droids, while the live action shows have live action ones. The “republic pilot helmet” is actually bucket from Resistance. The “TK trooper helmet” is actually an Imperial driver helmet from Rebels. The final one is Hunter’s helmet.
I thought there was a symbolic tie between the giant worm looking like a grabloid from Tremors and due to his PTSD crosshair had to deal with tremors in his hand
0:34 I think that “helmet” is actually supposed to be that Star Wars:Resistance Astromech who doesn’t have any plating.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking about the sandworms in Dune with that giant ice caterpillar :)))))
When Crosshair says to Hunter, "I've done things. I've made mistakes." I couldn't help but think about the character Roy Batty saying, "I've done questionable things," in Bladrunner.
Thank you for the vet shout-out. People know it's there but sometimes it takes simple reminders to push someone to use it.
It struck me last night when I watched it that the whole "Bad Batch" series is probably a call back to soldiers' experiences in Vietnam...which is around the time Lucas wrote the original drafts. This may already have been obvious to anyone who reads this.
One thing... I'm pretty sure that Crosshair's tremors are due to his exposure to Hemlock's nerve toxin... Not PTSD. There may be some PTSD that he exhibits, but I'm pretty sure his hand tremors are more due to that. You see Hemlock constantly rubbing his hands too and he says that he has become immune to the toxin he designed by constantly exposing himself to it.
Great catch! I was always wondering why he rubbed his hand and why he wears a black glove. I was thinking maybe he has a fake hand like most characters that wore one black glove. But this makes more sense. Maybe it is badly scarred, too. I hope they explain why.
I guess we can assume the Clone Rebellion was enough to remove Tantiss from the playing field but not Project Necromancer, as it was mentioned in the Mandalorian. Also, that Omega’s blood sample was destroyed, since the Imperial remnant, in Moff Gideon, was after Grogu’s DNA.
Omeg's blood bridges the gap between "standard" and "able to maintain a stable M-Count." But I'm pretty sure she doesn't "have the Force" in any but the most minor ways. Grogu, on the other hand, is that opposite end of the spectrum that has "standard" blood as its polar opposite. So, to me, they're saying Omega's blood was engineered to make a "standard" batch of DNA capable of holding whatever M-Count the engineers wanted to assign to it when they transition Palpatine's "essence" into a new body.
Not sure if I made sense, and again, this is just how I took it. I could be wrong.
@@StrangePhoton I hope they invalidate the whole thing, setting up that it's impossible to predict what has the Force or doesn't through science.
The open circle helmet is actually Bucket from resistance. Bad show, ashamed I caught that
I’m sorry you had to watch that show 😔
Weird how it got cancelled just when it started to be... acceptable.
That show had some great moments.... the moment it ended was great......... let me think on the rest
That show was on my list, and then the list got thrown away
You have the best insights. Thanks for sharing.
Really great episode I loved that emerie was mentioned by omega ,but I hope she escapes ,and works with the bad batch at some point also I have a bad feeling that since they hacked that data pad that the empire be able to somehow find out where everyone is hiding.
We see Pabu being invaded by the Empire in the trailer and one of the TV spots so you're not wrong. Omega will probably blame herself for exposing Pabu for the sake of her quest to free the other clones from Tantiss.
That's exactly what I was thinking, too! The network is all connected, and I am sure it alerts when anything odd pops up. Especially at an abandoned outpost!
When the data pad connected to the console, I winced a bit. Then, when they disabled the perimeter sensors, I was sure it would alert the empire. I literally muttered, "Oh noooo."
You know, I am just thankful that the producers give this show the free reins to tell the story as they see fit.
It is an animated show that is dealing with some pretty brutal subject matter. While they may simplify it, they don't hide from it. Dealing with PTSD, Guilt, regret, depression, anxiety, fear, loss, grief, the fact that they are child soldiers, trying to raise another child that is going to be another child soldier, but also trying to make sure she has what time she can have, to just be a kid.
The only complaints i really have about the Bad Batch as a whole, is that it feels like they sometimes are forced to cut or extend each episode, to fit the 27 minute run time. I wish they could just tailor it for streaming, and let each episode be the story it needs to be, regardless what the runtime ends up as.
Overall, Bad Batch continues to surprise me, it is my second favorite Star Wars show, after Andor, and just ahead of the first two seasons of Mando.
Stupidest thing in this episode is that Hunters sense was muted...
It was so stupid, that Hunters senses didn't kick in when they should have.
I always felt like the bird mirror the end of season 7 of the clone wars over vader
I always try to say thank you for the videos you make. Your review and theory videos are always great. But as a veteran who loves watching bad batch and finds it therapeutic. Thank you for recognizing the veteran and military community.
Great insight as always ryan thanks for the video.
the crosshair's theme segment of the video was so spot on, i'm glad someone else besides me realized it too!!!
0:58 That Helmet is actually the helmet of an AT-DP pilot, from Star Wars Rebels. You can see the difference in the Visor, while the TK troopers visor connects above the nose area, the AT-DP's is two separate pieces like the later Imperial Stormtrooper. And the droid that came before this one, is actually a Commando droid, not a Assassin droid. The last helmet is also Hunter's helmet, not a TK helmet either.
Didn't he also get the second helmet in the intro wrong too? I might be wrong, but I always thought that was R1-J5, from Resistance
Omega Calling Crosshair little Brother will never not be funny
I really enjoy these breakdown videos! Very well done
The giant worm creature is reminiscent of "Jeff" from MIB 2.
The intro isn't about Clone Wars' end to Empire begin, it's about all things animated in Star Wars. Yes it starts with Grievous from Clone Wars, but the second one is Bucket from Resistance, another animated series, then Chopper from Rebels, then Crosshair's helmet from Bad Batch, then it's a BX series commando droid, then Wrecker's helmet from Bad Batch, then it's not a gen 1 TK trooper helmet, it's an AT-DP pilot from Rebels, then either Sabine's or Bo Katan's helmet from Rebels and at the end it's Hunter's helmet from Bad Batch
Great vid as always. Miss the old intro tho!
Crosshair was so great in this ep. Can't wait to see him develop further!
One of the best things episodes of the series. Thanks for the video
Only thing on echos ship so far is that it's called the Remora. Very little info on wookieepedia.
I would have disabled the imperial sensors once in the air and give the planet back to the worm beast. That area could have been symbolic zone for them.
Thought it was more like a graboid from tremors.
Classy move providing resources for vets. Absolute W breakdown as usual
Love your content ! You guys should cover Shogun episodes !
I wish they had at least hinted at Crosshair and Hunter having a longer talk. I don't think we needed to see the whole thing, but it would have been great if they let is know they really talked it out.
this episode also echoes the Rebels episode with the spiders and the sensors.
Omega was separated from her brothers for almost 170 days. I couldn't see how many scratches she made in the wall, but there were either 164 or 169 scratches a day or 2 before she escaped. That's over 5 months that she was imprisoned there.
i like how the space dog could sense the ... tremors.
The helmet at 0:33 looks like it's actually Jarek Yeager's Fireball helmet being worn by his droid Bucket. It's from the Resistance show, so I'm not at all surprised that it got missed.
Of course Its not for me, but respect for saying this: 8:34
the last helmet in the intro isn't a stormtrooper, it's Hunter's helmet.
Ok I think I have heard a very secret Easter egg.... when they enter the outpost just as Omega is going to the computer the music score plays classic notes from Alien... it is a little like Aliens... nice touch.
Dee Bradley Baker also voices Appa and Momo on Avatar: The Last Airbender, which was Dave Filoni's show before The Clone Wars.
In the Disney intro, the helmet you called the open circle fleet is the astromech from Star wars resistance who wears an old rebel pilot helmet
Thanks for the VA info. I've used their services for my own issues and they were a huge help.
8:45 you guys are legends
