WOW!!! 92 EASTER EGGS!!!!! OMG!!!!!!
👍🙂❤️
Honestly loved these eps... The sequel trilogy is never going to be retconned... so I'll take any good morsels of Star Wars I can get.
Can't wait for the rest of the season
It's Batcher, like the name of the show: Beed Beech - Omeega
I don't recall if it was mentioned...
But in Episode 2 - Paths Unknown, the young clone Mox was voiced by Daniel Logan, who was young Boba Fett in the Episode II - The Clone Wars.
I don't like Magic Spoon, it taste like cardboard. They sell that stuff for like $4 dollars a box at Costco lol.
I like wrecker becoming more cautious after losing tech , it's a natural way to take his character when he used to be more brash.
More cautious? Did you see the part where he ignored the kids advice and touched the vines!?
@@anymarujust because he's generally a huge guy
@@anymaru he might've forgotten, or didn't think they'd be literal f**king plant monsters.
The animation wing of Star Wars is smashing it.
It's easier when you have a budget. What Filoni did in Rebels is a marvel considering the scraps he got.
I was just thinking this. Way more enjoyable than the movies.
Faster and cheaper than live action. They should make more animated
Fr those scenes when emperor palpatine shows up those guards looked phenomenal
For me Bad Batch just gets stronger and stronger every season. I love the way all the Star Wars shows and movies are being slowly drawn together into a smoother narrative.
Star Wars was kinda the MCU before the MCU.
Getting to see the full transition from clones to the stormtroopers has been sooo cool and such a gift of this show. It’s been slow and so clear!
17:20 that scene made me feel so much 🥺 Hunter’s character throughout the seasons growing into being a paternal figure and realizing that is one of the sweetest things I’ve seen from Star Wars
Just love this character so much. I need him and Omega to reunite soon so bad
JJ: somehow Palpatine has returned.
Filoni: (sighs) I'm going to have to fix the sequels too, aren't I...
🤣🤣🤣
Facts
Then the one other dude: “Dark science. Cloning. Secrets only the Sith knew.”
Honestly, that one stung more than “Somehow Palpatine returned.” Cloning was not a Sith secret. And “Dark science?” What? What is that supposed to mean? Even Palpatine averted the question of how he returned by recycling one of his lines from RotS. They may as well have just paused the film, had the producer step onto the scene, and just say “no time to explain, just watch the movie.”
@@GGBlaster To be fair, at that point in the timeline, the Kaminoans were likely all dead or had so few numbers that many would assume only the Sith knew the secrets to cloning. Plus, it is still considered a dark science. The Kaminoans are never really shown to be the "good guys". Sure, they're not evil, like the Sith, but their cold approach to cloning shows that the clones are nothing more than tools, or assets to be used and discarded. They care for the clones in the same way a farmer cares for their tractors. They're proud of what they can accomplish, but ultimately, are disposable if they need replacing.
Just look at real world history. If a government is in control of education and flow of information, they can make sure people forget important things. The American revolutionary war, for example, wasn't really won by the Patriots. It was won more by the French, and the British Empire's lack of interest on the colonies there. However, US education would make you believe that a small militia was able to defeat the forces of the largest empire on Earth. Or Tiananmen Square in China. We know it happened, but people in China wouldn't commonly know about it outside of those that were there. Even then, memories corrupt over time so details would be lost.
My point is, it's not unrealistic that someone would assume that only the Sith knew the secrets to cloning, when it's very possible that's the truth by that point. With Kamino destroyed, and the Jedi gone, really only the Sith would know the secrets.
@@luckygrunt don’t people know about the clone wars? Luke knew about it before a new hope. Wouldn’t it be reasonable to assume the clone wars had clones.
Anyone else get the feeling that the Emperor is kind of evil? Asking for a friend.
Nah not really
He’s really one of those villains whose motivations are very understandable.
He’s definitely evil that’s for sure I mean just look at what he’s doing to the clones now after serving there purpose
To your friend: No duh Sherlock!!
The fact that you put Rey skywalker in the thumbnail made me unsubscribe
I love the constant ticking clock of the blood tests from ep 1... then a literal count down in 3
This series IS Star Wars for me ! Great writing, Jennifer Corbett knows her Star Wars! Star Wars Animation is my absolute favorite!
15:40
The whole clones in the jungle stranded thing is also a lovely thematic parallel to the Clonewars arc Padawan lost, where Ahsoka gets captured by trandoshen hunters.
Also the beginning of Andor, where it’s just kids left on the planet. I’m still hoping we find out what happened there.
@@KforFreedom It would be nice to see Andor's past like that
One thing I loved about this premiere that I was surprised you didn’t touch on was the time in the Tantiss facility, and not just for how well-paced and engaging it all was. The entire first episode, the cinematography was giving heavy Wes Anderson vibes with how symmetrical and repetitive the scenes were shot. Just excellent direction that made me feel the dread of this droning machine of an Empire
Wes Anderson? You need to watch Tarkovsky. The centered lingering shots were perfected by him.
Was really impressed by this in ep 1 as well! Good call out
You missed the young clones in ep 2 referencing "Base Delta Zero", the imperial naval codephrase for a total orbital bombardment.
I was way more engaged in these 3 episodes than i ever was in any Ahsoka or Obi Wan episode. Such a strong start to the season
Facts!!
What a great start to this season of the Bad Batch, I'm so hyped for what the show has installed for us moving forward.
15:42 "don't touch the vines" is also a callback go the Clone Wars episode when Anakin and Obi-Wan go to Iego to get medicine for Padme
Midichlorians are the powerhouse of the Cell
Force Mitochondria.
Oh... so Vader was the back up plan but when his body was damaged cloning was needed.
I like how this season is more serious, I loved the changing of crosshairs personality
I can't believe you did not notice Daniel Logon voiced one of the Clone kids.
The other two was from fireball Deadpool 2 actor
I missed it too.
Also, I wonder if those 3 kids were the same kids that boba betrayed in the escape pod back in clone wars
Premiere was like a Mish mash of andor prison stuff ,and siege of Mangalore arc love it.
I like it when they use music from the movies, they credit John Williams along with the Kiners. I'm glad Bad Batch is back on.
The boys need to figure out a better way to lock their ship. They had it stolen last year and in one of these. I got a good laugh out of Omega kicking that mouse droid.
I noticed 2 things in the second episode that you didn’t put in this video that I thought were really cool. First, Daniel Logan (Lil Boba) came back to voice Mox (one of the young clones) in episode 2. Also the slither vines, the small runnin one and the big Sarlacc pit reminded me a lot of the Flood in Halo 3 where Dee Bradley Baker voiced The Gravemind who was the Flood god.
Ok, so I wasn’t the only one who was screaming Flood the whole episode?
Maaaan I was thinking "damn this star wars episode is doing halo better than the halo show"
Also, it was The Gravemind.
@@TheValdesX I knew i was close!
Speaking of Halo, I'm pretty sure there was a musical reference to Halo in one of the final scene of Episode 1 when you see the outside of Mt Tantiss again.
Edit: its the music that plays on the Ark mission once you get the Scorpion tank.
"Tank Beats Everything"
I also noticed that traces of the Emperor's or the Sith theme in Tales of the Jedi (when Dooku travels to his HQ and deletes Yaddle from the timeline) was present when Palpatine arrived and during his tour.
I was going to watch the three episodes over three days to saver them. The fact I had to binge all three is a testament for how good the episodes were for me.
The one thing I don't want if Omega and Hunter have to search for each other at the same time is a ridiculously close to being reunited thing where they're basically right next to each other and don't know it, like they're in different corridors next to each other, DONT DO THAT PLEASE, I beg you if that happens I am gonna literally lose it!
While I “Like” the idea of the Batch slowly having their DNA degrade (as in “I like the concept, but if you do that to my precious babs I will gut you with a spoon”), I personally think it’s a different tool of the Empire: Fear. Crosshair’s always been sure of what’s around him, and sure of his place and role. But being a prisoner like this? Omega constantly breaking the rules to see him? Escaping after he already tried? He’s got no idea about what’s going to happen next, and he’s terrified of not only what he’s already experienced when he’s been cooperating, but what might happen if/when they find them. And Crosshair’s never been good on telling what his emotions are. That tremor could be all that fear, finally bubbling to the surface before it explodes, though hopefully not in a firefight. I think we’ll get an episode where Crosshair’s going to have to open up, otherwise he and Omega might not survive, or worse
Okay so I have to point out that Crosshair's little hand twitch may not be a result of his clone DNA degrading.
Doctor Hemlock has the SAME issue with his own hand that he keeps gloved, and it just so happens to be the SAME hand (right) as Crosshair's. I think it has something to do with the gas Hemlock used on Crosshair last season. Hemlock has exposed himself to his own gas countless times, to the point of gaining immunity to it. So if the issues with the hand is a side effect of the gas, it would make sense for it to have gotten so bad for Hemlock he needs to wear a glove to hide it.
Crosshair even held it the same way as Hemlock does, and he only got dosed ONCE.
This is why I love Star Wars
so in the original lore the Kaminoans considered midchlorians to be an abberation and considered it like imperfect in the process. Did they retcon that somehwere?
@@LoganArredondo-l5p they probably hung up their morals somewhere down the line when creating Omega as they were working with the Sith and then later the Empire which is controlled by the Sith, and if you disappoint The Sith you might die. So even if they retconned it makes logical sense for them to give up on that moral to fulfill the Sith's wishes
@@Starkiller3870 I was just confused if I had missed something somewhere since the lore for star wars has always been rather "fluid"
absolutely beautiful start to the third season, especially the first episode...music, pacing, tone, all brilliant!
No we don't all hate midicorlians. Its cool lore that add to the metaphor of life George was going for... from the micro to the macro.
I didn't do a recap of the season so just seeing only two of 99 hit me like a rock
When omega said that they could contact wrecker and hunter, crosshair didn't asked about tech, hopefully he will find out
If she has visited his cell several times, I’m sure she told him at some point while they were still imprisoned.
Likely already knows it's been months
Unrelated, but I want to thank you for the “Madam Web” video. My wife and I were off the grid for her father’s funeral and we were going to go see it. You saved her from the worst heartbreak of her life.
I saw it yesterday, and it still hurts. 😢
(seriously though, condolences)
Cold blooded 😂😂😂
The evolution of art style graphics from the movie to the bad batch is just breathtaking. Well done team.
I don't think Crosshair's ordering the trooper was a nod to Rey, I think it was a signal to Omega to open the cell so he could escape with her.
I think you’re off on the crosshair hand breakdown theory. There is something going on between crosshairs hand and hemlock’s hand.
all it takes is a caged animal to make me upset and worry about it's escape....seriously though, these episodes were great. They were so dark and tense. So happy to see Crosshair again and a lot less filler stuff. And for some reason the SOUND is amazing in these. It's so crisp. By far Bad Batch is my fave disney shows other than Andor. Great to see my boys again!
Really nice episodes ngl
I always thought Snoke looked like a cross between a Kaminoan and a human.
Tech's not dead until we see a body. You know how Star Wars is
It would be a cruel twist of fate if somehow he was recovered by the Empire and turned into one of those assassin clones like the one we saw enter the elevator
With how cruel and inhumane the Imperial scientists are with their experiments, it's a mercy for Tech to be dead.
Its crazy how the snimated stuff is what I'm looking for in star wars .
Episode 2 had my jaw open the whole time!! I was thinking about the trash compactor scene before the vines even rose out of the water, I can’t remember the last time TV got me that excited lol
So who was the mysterious figure in episode 3 who looked cool, said nothing and then got in the lift?!
If they kill the dog or any of the kids - it's tiki torches.
seriously me too. Was so worried about it 😥
They’ve gotta actually show how Snoke went from normal to damaged instead of just thinking that Palpatine would clone a bunch of handicapped clones to lead a galactic army.
The slither vines may be a modified version of the plant from the umbara arc in clone wars. It killed some clones and they used it to capture Krell.
There are plenty of things I don’t like about Star Wars, but I loved that Rey was a Palpatine. The original saga (9 episodes) was really always the story of Skywalker vs Palpatine, so I love that included a little twist and turn before Rey announced she was a Skywalker in the end, culminating the victory.
The sequel trilogy on its own was interesting in that it told us first she was a Skywalker (connection to Luke’s lightsaber), she was nothing (from Kylo), then the reveal she was a Palpatine, before she identified herself as Skywalker. I think it’s cool and works.
These first three episodes were worth the wait. Thanks for the video.
I love the idea of midi-chlorians. It makes so much sense and explains why some people can use the force and others can’t.
What did you think of the premiere?
Two thumbs up. But got to ask if Palpatine is a Sith and Anakin had the highest m-count ever, why are they looking for blood from others? You touched on it a bit yourself. Great breakdown by the way.
I thought these episodes were quite good
Great Episodes!
@ScreenCrush , hi was wondering if you had any idea who the trooper thats seen at the beginning of episode 3. The music was very ominous and they stayed on him for some time. Was thinking it could be a mind controlled Teck if he survived the fall?
Maybe they need blood from a force user that's been untainted by the dark side.@@annat2927
Really great episodes I really enjoyed them and can’t wait for next week’s episode
"We" have never had a problem with Midichlorians.. never have, it makes sense and changes very little.
I don’t think “the specimens” were clones of Palpatine. I think they were Jedi, and being used as the source of the Midichlorians.
I’d bet a dollar Mace Windu was in one of those pods.
Don't you mean: "Meece Werndew"? - Omeega
Great episode, no real complaints.
I like how everything is being reinforced so if everything starts crashing down…we’ll all understand how and why this machine called the empire operates as it does.
I am guessing we can just forget about Ian Abercrombie portrayal of Palpatine for 29 episodes over Tim Curry's 10 episodes.
Loved the slower, deliberate pace that created great suspense and wow is the score amazing.
strong start to this season imo, love how the bad batch is deepening the lore about cloning and palpatine's eventual resurrection
Can we just appreciate how pristine the visuals are
It’s like they’ve peeked, that Palpatine cape was photorealistic (close to) the reflexions
They really mastered they’re craft, I’m really hoping for an animation renaissance after this serie ends
16:07 Love that scene 😂😂. Also curious about the origins of Palpatine's personal Guards?
With that guy's missing horn reminds me of a rebels character can't remember his name
Vizago
you forgot about comando scortch (the one with the yellow stripe) and how the show paid close attention to the comandos equipment when the serch party was being attacked. The commandos have night vision and the commando is the onley one wihout a flashlight. Pay close attention how he keeps visual on the target as evreyone is freaking out.
The soundtrack of ep 1 was majestic, especially when it emphasized the routine life of Omega and her becoming more and more a prisoner.
Bad batch never fails to deliver great content
I'm betting that the Omega sample is all that they get, and you know how all of the dominoes fall.
This season has me feeling like Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods: excited AND scared. FWIW I think Crosshair's hand tremors are a side effect of all the drugs, and possibly even the knockout gas, that have been used on him.
Omega is Ray’s Grandmother!!!!!!!!
Emperor Palpatine uses his DNA plus omega, DNA to create the failed clone of himself that goes on to be Ray’s father and rise of Skywalker
Two easter eggs I noticed: In episode one of this season, when the troopers crash the shuttle, they're standing together listening to the screams in the forest - like Arnie and the boys in Predator. In episode 3, when the Lurkas all attack the big creature allowing Omega and Crosshair to escape is an homage to Jurassic Park, when the velociraptors attack the T-Rex, allowing the heroes to escape.
those white jumpsuits are so different lol wth
Your forgot one: The elevator scanning noises in the facility are the same that the Bacta Healers make in Republic Commandos
I don't recall if it was mentioned...
But in Episode 2 - Paths Unknown, the young clone Mox was voiced by Daniel Logan, who was young Boba Fett in the Episode II - The Clone Wars.
The vines in the lab and the little ones crawling around and the massive one at the end gave me Flood and Gravemind vibes from Halo
Starting to feel like Scorch is just a tease and they have no interest plugging the rest of Delta in. Like Filoni is just going teehee to the fans that want to see other members of that squad. I just finished reading the Commando books and now I wish we had gotten a version of Omega Squad. They’d probably have to a dumbed down version though
I agree
With captions on it also just refers to him as “Clone Commando” instead of Scorch so I feel that’s the case too
You know, Palpatine had access the Anakin's DNA for YEARS...
Yeah, but it's burnt and smells like bacon
Is it me or does the room where Palpatine looks into a pod (Possibly Snoke), Look like sith temple ground and walls from the sith teple of Malachor, and Asha Ree (Which was visited in star wars resistence S2 episode 7, "The relic raiders"
it could be one of his clones that was in the pod a clone like the one in dark empire issue 1
7:37 Personally i never understood the hate that some fans have for the Midi-chlorians, it's like fans wanting a fictional world where magic is real but getting mad at said world for having rules or a magic sistem instead of the classic "It's Magic I Ain't Gotta Explain Shit", the Midi-chlorians dont contradict anything established in the Prequels.
"Paths Unknown" made me think of a 1968 Hammer horror film called "The Lost Continent" which also had killer vines and toothy-filled maws. I know Filoni has an appreciation for old films gone by.
I think that crosshair's twitchy hand has something to do with Hemlock's own hand, the one that's gloved.
Can THESE writers please take over creative control of STAR WARS live action?? PLEASE.. there’s still some hope 🫡
Nothing about the vine monster also in A new hope in the trash compactor????❤
One thing I thought was odd is in the sequences where you see all the troops lined up during Palpatine entrance and exit, the commandos that are lined up with the TK troopers have black visors instead of the glowing blue ones
Me: just found out the bad batch season 3 releases today
Screencrush: Had a recap of all 3 episodes with every Easter egg posted 12 hours ago
Loved it. Can't wait to get Bad Batch minis for Star Wars Legion and paint them up!
lol you had me laughing so damn hard at "retire to space Greece" i am glad i am not only person who thought it looked like Greece
You missed Crosshair saying "And leave your blaster" which was also something Rey said and always gives a great chuckle.
16:20 and a creepy accuracy to the flood from halo minus the viral infection mostly
I saw THX1135, I believe George Lucas was still in film school when he created this film. Anyway I thought it was interesting movie and it definitely deserves a reboot 😊
At the 8:02 mark, clones are living beings where the force surrounds them, and binds the galaxy together. So in my interpretation, a clone could be force sensitive.
9:03 no need to die on that hill when you’re absolutely and indisputably correct.
The theory about Crosshair's tremors being a sign of the short lifespan of clones doesn't hold up when you consider that Rex and his clone crew seemed pretty much tremor-free in Rebels (and if you believe the rumors/urban legends, in Return of the Jedi).
All the way throughout 3 episodes it feels like daek something growing over all the characters
I’ve always thought palpatine returning was never THAT bad. Even Rey having a connection to palpatine wasn’t THAT bad.
Disney just did a god awful job at explaining and setting it up.
Seeing Palpatine obsess over immortality and using sith magic and cloning is awesome if I’m being honest.
Any time new SW content comes out i think “i can’t wait for ryan to talk to me about it”
You didn't notice the room with the holding tanks looked like the inside of a Sith temple.
You mentioned Anjelica Huston in episode 2, but didn't call out Daniel Logan returning to voice a young clone. That's a huge cameo.
This was a fantastic start for the 3rd season. The animation shows have been outstanding.
I think Crosshairs hand started shaking because they tried to add Midichlorians to his and the other clones DNA and it their DNA doesnt like that
Thank you Ryan for making the videos of the BB since episode one! It was stellar show then is the GOAT now!
I didn’t have a lot of hope for this show after the first season but it really picked up since mid-season 2. I’m getting season 7!Clone Wars excited for each episode now.
It would be interesting if they plan to adapt the Republic Commando books plotline about reversing the accelerated ageing of the clones.
We do know that Rex lives all the way until Return Of The Jedi.
@@mattp1337 well, maybe, maybe, there is a future plotline in the works. When we see him in Rebels, he’s, what, around sixty? Physically at least.
@@hamishsewell5990 AotC is 22 BBY and RotJ is 4 ABY, so Rex would have to be at least 42 physiologically by the end of the classic trilogy even if clones aged normally once they reached maturity. Add a little bit of accelerated decrepitude and you get "Nik Sant" looking late 50s-ish. Anyway, I thought his RotJ appearance was canon now but I may be wrong.
@@mattp1337yeah, just doing the maths, AotC, he’s ten chronologically and in his early twenties physically, so plus the 20 or so years between AoTC and RotJ, I always thought he’d be around 60-70 physically, and 30 or so Chronologically
@@hamishsewell5990 I certainly hope it turns out. He's a character that deserves a full arc.
