Thank You Diane, Greetings from Finland! You nailed it! My family loves Greek food and my daughters family is vegan. I have tried so many veganized recipes, but this is the Best! The flavours are in balance , the clever combination with coconut and almond milk, also aqua fava on the sauce plus black beans with chick beans! They just ask me to cook it every week, children love it! Sometimes there are too many strong flavours and no harmony but in this recipe -everything is spot on! What about vegan pastitsio? I have tried many vegan recipes, but somehow too heavy and no balance in flavours. Thanks a lot!
Please spare us all! Moussaka is purely an Arabic dish originating from the Levant, the word itself stands for it! How on earth and when did it become an iconic Greek dish, for God's sake?! Stop this adopting any dish around to Greek cuisine, it really gets annoying! Do you prepare moussaka as well? Great! Please give the recipe and let us try it all in your style. Just don't say it is Greek!
Even if a recipe is iconic to a country or region, that does not mean that it isn’t iconic elsewhere. I read somewhere that the iconic British “dish” of fish and chips is actually of Jewish origin - brought into England in the 19th century from migrating Jews. But, whether that’s true or not, it’s still an iconic British dish. After all, potatoes weren’t even indigenous to Britain until 16th/17th centuries. You’ve got a channel. Why don’t you prepare everyone a lovely Levant Moussaka? Does it use spuds?
So looking forward to this Diana ! There are many Greeks who are vegetarians . So Thank you 🙏🏼
Hope you like it!
@@DianeKochilas Looks fabulous! For sure I will be making this ! Sweet potato’s were a surprise but why not ! Thank you 🙏🏼

Δεν έχεις ακούσει ποτέ για νηστεία και νηστίσιμα φαγητά και είσαι Έλληνας; Περίεργο.
What about all Greek Orthodox who eat Vegan during the various Fast periods!
Please spare us all!
