- Hey comic book fans and flea market hunters! I head back to the massive Brimfield Flea Market to hunt for comics, and honestly don't have much luck... until I come across an old friend with amazing books! Check out the video to see the sights of the flea and the two AWESOME comics I picked up at a great price!

I been a mainline H addict since I was 18yo after 20 years of active addiction I'm now 7 months sober and still moving forward! Thank u for ur videos and the fact ur a truly honest and real human being, ur content keeps my fight for sobriety alive and after 20 years I'm back to collecting comics the one thing I always loved to do and I've invested 7 months of sobriety time, 7 months finances, 7 months dedication and I can proudly say I own over 100 comics 25% are 50$-$200 keys/first app/1st issues and I continue to collect, please keep the videos coming it gives me something to look forward to staying sober for!!!
@@donaldstudoriii6477 what an inspiring comment! I first congratulate you on your life changes for the best, that is the real prize, the comics are just a bonus. I’m happy you enjoy the videos and I’m honored that you get so much from them, it humbles me! Thanks for making my day and again, congratulations!
The historical value of comics tends to be forgotten. These are 2 great pick-ups for that reason alone. The important thing is you had fun finding them and learning about then. The art is great on them as well. So many golden age artists don't get a light shine on them anymore, too. Nor the fact that what they did, pioneered every single book we do give the spotlight to. Good job, Mike! Keep them coming sir!
That cover, sir, is mindblowing! I can't believe that it's from '43! WOW... the color just pops! It's such a cool cover... I'm jealous. :)
Great story too... so happy you were able to, finally, add it to your collection.
Again... you're just making me want to go rummage through yard sales and flea markets. lol :)
Thanks for yet another fun episode, Mike.
Any day, is a good day hunting comics.
It’s so funny to me seeing you flip through all those great ASM and FF books and say “I’m having no luck, I haven’t got anything! There’s nothing good here!” Meanwhile I’m watching this thinking “I need lots of those for my runs!!” Great video as always, awesome pickups! Those Master Comics are so underrated. And that’s an absolutely beautiful WW2 cover! I’ve been wanting to start getting more WW2 era books myself, especially the 1 staple books. I love the history behind it.
I love Mac Raboy, always trying to find more of his. Great pickup, thank you for sharing!
While both comics have amazing cover art, the use of color on the Master Comics is stunning! The hunt for these two comics clearly made your day worthwhile. Thanks for sharing the history of the comics and the video!
Great score, Mike. The covers on those two issues are awesome.
Love those old books. You got a great deal.that
Nice pickups! It was very unusual this video to see Brimfield so dead, and the comics you got! They are definitely very cool, great video👍
2 great comics and you're correct. A "key" is in the eye of the beholder. Today we're too focused on Marvel and DC huge keys or what dealers call a key. Those books are 80 years old! Think about that. Fantastic!
The Masters Comic you picked up is FANTASTIC!!!!! I have always loved GA books, mostly for the covers and the war propaganda adds. Such a great story to get criminals to pay their fair share in the war effort! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!
Awesome episode considering i’m the guy who purchased the TMNT set from Doug. So look forward to connecting with you in the future and i would love to get that last signed copy and The Captain Marvel Book also the Green Lantern 1st appearance of John
That Master Comics looks great especially considering how old it is. 81 years? Thats my mother’s age. Ancient. That’s one for the wall display imo. The other one is great to display too.
Captain Marvel and his family had a unique vibe. You can’t read one of their stories and not leave with a smile. Also, Bulletman was a very strange character. Great pickup. Now I have to go and reread the Superman/Flash races.
Hi Mike, once again entertaining and informative. Regarding size and pickups no worries, remember you are taking some of us to places we will never get to and the sights and commentary are awesome 😊
I've never seen Brimfield so quiet. I think the weather may play a big factor considering the size, if it's hot or humid it is pretty rough. When it rains, it's tough too. That day, along with being day 1, looked like a 'perfect storm' of bad weather that led to low turn out. In any case, great video.
Man! Solid comics! Great pick ups! There were definitely a few I would have bought for my pc! Doug's tent was obviously the best! Thanks for sharing!
That Master comics Captain Marvel Jr. cover and X-Men #50 Polaris cover compliments each other to display, next to Starange Adventures Deadman cover #207.
Nice review.
Mac Raboy's cover is stunning, he was an artist way ahead of his time. And the soldier directly behind Capt. Marvel Jnr. on the left bears a certain resemblance to Telly Savalas as he appeared in one of my favourite war movies, "Kelly's Heroes" - eerie.
I for sure think that the Master Comics is way cool, love the cover and the fact that it's still around after so long..... nice get!!!!
Love the Master Comics. Pretty good price!
That master comics cover is so sweet. The colors look awesome!!
The Captain Marvel Jr. art is beautiful.
jungle comics are too cool! nice score.
Love it! Glad you finally got the book. And I love that we are able to call each other while hunting. Thanks for the shoutout brother.
@@AlextheComicHoarder anytime Alex!
Wow, nice finds! Usually when I'm out at the flea market I never find books like those! Most of the time I just end up going home empty handed. 😂
fantastic haul mike
I love that Kaluta cover for The Shadow #1! I love the idea of raising money by offering yourself for potshots.
It's cool, Mike. It's very cool.
Love that Master Comics Book!
Man. Those Archie's and Richie Rich et al comics look 'loved' but there is a big market for those books.
When you love a comic you just gotta get it 😂 love the story mike keep up the good work 🤩
i just want to say i really love your vids pls upload more 🙏🏽
@@nateg1209 thank you!
Anything Capt Marvel related is cool, and the key factor is an absolute discovery. Great story about how you’ve had your eye on that book for so long and how it ended in your collection. Congrats!
As always, great video Mike!
Oh man. I would love to have the Batman #1 Famous First Edition.
Key Collector is very useful but they have very few older books that are not superheros!
Love those master comics and Capt marvel jr books nice pickup mike!
It was fated to be yours, Mike. Glad that you finally got it! Thanks for showing all the extra stuff at the Brimfield flea market too. So neat!
Not quantity that matters, it's quality. I love seeing golden age comics associated with WW2. Very cool!
I disagree
@@Comiccomplter55 I care
@@Comiccomplter55. Please elaborate, quantity vs quality, or that the OP like seeing golden age comics associated with ww2?
@robertt9342 quantity is sometimes better than quality because you could have 100's of keys or potential keys vs 1 big key. I could have thousands of dimes and nickels vs one dollar
I always liked Captain Marvel, Jr. more than Captain Marvel himself. He wasn't corny like the Big Red Cheese was. That's a great cover and looks nice.
Both winner! You should show what wall comics come down when you replace them!
@@michaelbarrett7664 I ended up getting a bigger shelf so I didn’t take any books down!
1:38 minor key issue it’s first moon knight and punisher meet up, I’ve been looking for that one
Mac Raboy was way ahead of the game at the time. That cover is stunning, I'm not surprised it captured your comic art heart.
He died ridiculously young, mid forties if memory serves. He's up there now discussing technique with Joe Maneely...
Loved the Jungle Comic also, lovely cover. Gorillas on covers have always sold comics, strange really since they are the most placid of the primates. You never see attack of the killer chimpanzees !
Low turnout at flea market, that will down to climate change. Unless you are in the UK then it will be climate change and/or Brexit. You takes yer pick!
Missed commenting on your comic restoration vid, it was fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.
Do you have knowledge of sixties kids toys? Sorry off topic but when I was a kid in the early seventies I had a Jonny Astro
rig. I have no memory of where it came from and as far as I can ascertain it was never sold in the UK.
Sorry for the long comment.
Love your show Mike keep 'em coming. No X-Men this time, yay! ;-D
Wishing you and your yours good health and best wishes from 'tother side of pond. Two countries joined by their love of comics.
J
I remember having that spider-man adventure set.
I love Fiction House Comics and WWII Master Comics are amazing. I’ve got a Master Comics with Mac Raboy cover. Captain Marvel Jr. is spanking Hitler and Hirohito. Nice books!
Kinda shocked to see Brimfield so empty! Hopefully just the rain for the day? May of this year, and July last year were both really busy.
Edit: the monetary explanation makes total sense, too. Definitely cut back on some spending myself.
good stuff. you went right past a Mister Miracle #1, that looked nice
dude love the shirt
I always wondered how thosr jungle girls found the time and tools to shave their legs and pits.
I mean but you completely missed out on the Incredible Hulk annual 6, 1st appearance of Groot, as he appears in the movie 😮! But I mean great video nonetheless!
@@danielhigh1195 I was very close to getting it but it was pretty poor condition. Still for $12 I was kinda kicking myself when I was editing the video.
And the first appearance of bi-beast
Jungle all the way. No contest.
Sometimes a book just speaks to you. The Master Comics book was meant to be in your possession.
Great video as usual Mike. Out of curiosity, what was he asking for the Master Comics issue 41?
@@bigglesworth8846 I think it started at like $275?
master comic #41 is a cool cover.
How do you guys find all these events like garage sales or flea markets? I live in Boston, but I never heard or seen something like this.
How's the parking at Brimfield? I live nearby-ish, but I've honestly never been because I feel like the traffic and parking is going to be a nightmare
@@TimWright12 there’s plenty of parking, you just have to pay. The more central you are the more expensive it is. I park on the fringe as cheap as possible and walk
@@lunchmoneycomics great to know, thank you!
He BAITED YOU ?
Yep, here comes Mike…… where did I put those 2- Comics, Ahhh here they are .
Hey, Mike ? Remember these ?
I think I would have purchased the star wars. 😮
Great video and some very cool finds. Don't know really anything about either of them but they seem awesome. I did have a question since I know you're a really big x-men fan. Have you seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet and if so what did you think? I really enjoyed it as a fan of both Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman ad Wolverine. It was great to finally see both of them onscreen together (not counting origins) since it's been teased for so long. I personally had a lot of fun with it and I wanted to know what you thought since you love anything x-men and mutant related.
@@LandonWodash I enjoyed it. I mean I don’t think I liked it as much as others because I found the jokes, cameos, and Deadpool in general kinda tiresome by the 3rd act, but Hugh was amazing and it was really fun watching in a packed theatre
@@lunchmoneycomics glad you enjoyed it.
All Comics are awesome I'm almost at 51 thousand
Master comics
Were the keys in that box 50% off? If so I would have taken that whole box lol
@@CollectingLlama some were, not all
Cool pickups! I’m interested in getting in touch with Doug - do you have contact info you could pass along?
@@michaelsharkey4255 yes, but I can’t post it to TH-cam, if you hit me up on Instagram or via email at lunchmoneycomics@gmail.com I can send it to you
@@lunchmoneycomics sounds great thank you!
With the Broomfield flea market being so large, I was wondering, have you ever had the opportunity to walk the entire flea market on the same day?
@@collectplayandenjoy2800 I definitely walk the whole length of it pretty much every time, it’s good exercise, but I certainly don’t see everything. I’ll often skip whole fields and I certainly don’t check every vendor
Speculating ruined this market. It will crash again like it did in the 90’s
what are your thoughts in Younblood and Wildcast comics? I love them but you never heard about ppl collect them.
@@Tony-rz4ks I’m not a big fan, I bought a lot in the 90s but could never really get into them
