Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Mike, do not let anyone tell you that the name "Lunch Money Comics" goes against spending a lot of money on comics. Your love for comics at least partially comes from spending lunch money on comics as a kid. I had a similar path growing up. Birthday money or lunch money went to buying comics in the 70s as a kid for me.
Those $3 bins are ridiculous I'm so jealous.
Was a set up
First 😂 love your videos
Also notice you got X-Men #4. And at the same time there was the special edition X-Men #1 you passed by in the box, which technically has omega Red's 1st appearance, and not #4.
It's hard to find the comic's you want in the UK so getting the punisher no1 here for £15 pounds was good for me as I've been looking for it all my life I'm 50 this year so I was super happy with that 😊just wow for your comic hunt absolutely loved it 🤩
I would’ve grabbed that V for Vendetta #2 from the $3 bin in a heartbeat
Probably some of that Mike Grell Green Arrow as well!
John Byrne signature is one of my top get
Amazing $3 bins....wow. I would of swoop up all that Groo. Anywho my favorite pickup of yours was Punisher #1 because I wanted issue 1 as a kid and I still don't have one....yet. I recently picked pick up God Loves, Man kills. I have to bump that up on the read list.
I owned superman vs spiderman twice the one you were handling is in way better condition than the one I have also have superman vs Muhammad Ali both I decent condition not great but decent.
Counterplay Comics had the KRAZY $3 BOX sale... glad you had fun 😊
WOW!
What an amazing day of comic finds! :)
Congrats on the finds AND the gift! ;)
I don't think that spiderman #1 was gold. I believe it was considered bronze. But to be fair even I thought it looked gold back in the day, but they label it as bronze.
Also the silver and platinum cover look very close in look.
$3.00 for some of those books! Wow! Good picks Mike!
Wow Mike some great gets. Crazy how many good books were in those $3 bins. That was amazing of Murf to gift you that Byrne sig book. He was at a con once that I went to and he shutdown a person that wanted an X-Men book signed and he told him that he will never sign another X-Men book. So that's a special one there. God loves man kills is a great read. Getting that signed will be awesome. 👊🏼
Woe Im jealous for sure Amazing deals
Wow best $3 dollar bin I’ve ever seen. Would have pulled about half a short box or more of books. Nice finds!
$59! I gotta move to the States just to get deals on comics. That looked like such a fun time in the shop with the $3 boxes. Even as a viewer, everyone's excitement carried through in your footage 🙌
Danggg those Marvel Legends action figures was my first foray into comics as a kid. Memories. Cards ended up winning my interest, but I still appreciate comic culture.
Great video Brother. Cool books. $3. All day! Thanks again for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎👍❤️📚📚📚📚📚✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️💯💯✨️
Mind blowing that you found all those awesome books for $3! Looks like you and the boys had a lot of fun on your crawl. Thanks for taking us along for the journey and sharing it with us Mike 👍
You thumbed past Marvel Tales 81 & 83 in the $3 box. 81 has bonus Spidey Romita sample newspaper strips and 83 has the back up story "Goodbye to Linda Brown". A 5 page Ditko story that has Aunt May and Uncle Ben... 2 months before AF15 was published.
Hey, it is my go-to comic spots. I do my weekly shopping at counterplay comics. I visit comically speaking often. 2 fantastic stores
Loved the pub. I will have to get a comic store crawl together. Sadly, I TH-cam as I do not have comic fan friends, but someday! 😊
Great pickups Mike and it was great to see you again!
Hey Mike just received my Shang chi I paid 90 English pounds sterling for it on ebay......it was to good to be true because it has a tear in the corner which the seller tried to hide, annoyed beyond reason i made a complaint however. It just made me throw a tantrum and actually read my collection again gee I am fifty years old this year and I am still collecting when am I going to grow up never.Oh by the way the comic book shop I worked in was called skinny melinks, and before that it was located somewhere else but was called quality comics Bruce Paley and Dez skinn worked with Alan Moore who I randomly met years later anyway still enjoying watching all your posts.
Looked like a great comic day. Smiles all around. It was great to see how truly touched you were to receive the John Byrne autographed Uncanny 281. It would be a great wall book for you, not based on value but sentimentality. I think that might make a good video at some point, the top 10 comics you have sentimental ties to, and the story behind them. Great video as always.
Thank you for the video. Don’t listen to negative comments that’s the worst part of you tube always gonna have people no matter what you do they always have something to say and the worst thing is sometimes it’s not true what they say don’t feel bad that comes with the job of being a good TH-camr do you know how many people knows about this Comic place after they see this video a lot so you are helping the LCS and don’t justify for those people who gives you negative comments love your videos
I just got a large Star Wars marvel book like that out of a dollar bin. It’s really rough I mean it’s haggard however, you’re right I felt tiny looking through it and it took me right back to being a kid all over again those large prints are really cool.!!
What did you think about Claremont's second stint on X-Men (# 281 onward)?
Wow!!! Looks like everybody had a awesome time. Definitely wish they had something like that in my area. Congratulations on all of the awesome books that you got. I truly enjoy your videos and your awesome attitude. Keep up the great job!!! 😎
hmm comic book crawl....
Definitely no books for $3 like in those long boxes in my part of town. No chance! It would have hurt to spent most of my money at the first two stops!
For 3 bucks a piece I would've taken all of those Spider-woman issues
good haul, youre building up a con stock whether you know it or not,.....
I’m peanut butter and jealous of those $3 boxes 😩
Great video!
A great concept. I would love a crawl near me. I really enjoy your videos !!
Wow brings back so many memories the super man vs spider man I got that one when I was a kid for practically nothing cuz it was so long ago.My copie was in beautiful condition 9.2 probably better awesome buys.Great video love the channel.
Damn, those deals are nuts! Always wanted a copy of God Loves Man Kills, but can never find it when I’m comic hunting but have read it digitally
Sensational She Hulk number 1 for $3 Crazy good deal. I would have bought that in a second 😄
I would love to do a comic crawl. However there are no comic book shops around here.
Passed up a $3 Klaus Janson signed DK #4! Wish that store was near me.
That reminds me of a shop my way. Boxes are unpicked!
You guys inspire me to be better. Thank You!!!!!
I hope Mike makes loads of new videos I think I have viewed them all in less than a week.
Mean while Otto is looking in the window watching u guys pilage😂
That’s why I chose the photo, LOVE that!
From Northern Ireland not happy to see an irish flag
My mouth was agape seeing how many $20-40 keys were in those $3 bins.
Probably not really worth 20-40, we collectors over pay too much, but I agree with the sentiment
@@robertt9342 yeah current prices on most comics appear crazy to me. Especially considering 80s and 90s comics were printed in massive numbers compared to the past 20 years. Many distributors and larger shops and chains warehoused lots of comics in crazy amounts. Hundreds of copies of many issues and even higher quantities of "hot" comics. The current prices make no sense.
Best Book: Superman/ Spiderman Treasury, by a mile!!
Craziest $3 comics I’ve ever seen! Well done!
Seen it going for $125.00
Killer!! X Men # 100 in the $3 box!! WOW!
What time of the video do you see X-Men 100? I don't see it
Just rewatched.. must've been distracted. It was a # 258 w/ the Star Jammers on a White cover.. Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase!!@@pauls1116
Crazy good deals my GOD 😵💫
Pretty cool Irish pub ☘️ So fun taking that trip/crawl with you, buddy!
Nice stuff, love me some X-Men!!!
Wow wow wow. What a day you guys had!
Just recently came across your channel. Needless to say I’ve been binging your videos. It’s reinvigorated my love for collecting comics after a 20 year sabbatical. Thanks for your content and influence for me to get back to finding comics in the wild. Best wishes
Oh wow, I’m very happy to hear that, it means a lot to me! Glad you are finding some enjoyment from the channel and I hope you enjoy getting back into the hobby, I think it’s a great time to be a collector!
Something tells me, Mr. Akins is about to freak out over that John Byrne book…
TOTALLY INSANE!!!
fantastic haul bro so Cool 😎 loved to have been there
It the 86 series! Buckner forever.
The luck you have continues to amaze me. I've said it once and I will say it again
...good things come to good people. You put so much positivity out that it comes back to you ten fold. Keep sharing the videos. You are one of the good ones!!!
What a killer day of comic hunting! Congrats Mike! Love that you got a 1st print of God Loves Man Kills!
Love the doohicky! Love watching people flicking through comic boxes.
Loving the show Mike.
I hope you realise when you say "awesome" an angel loses it's wings!
Best regards and sarcasm from the UK.
Awesome awesome comment!
Cannot believe those deals
Wow, that $3 box was incredible, you just kept on pulling out gold. Coincidentally just read GOD LOVES MAN KILLS yesterday for the first time. Really great alright. Defo a foundational story for the X-Men. And you can see it's influence on the films. Love the Spidey vs Superman treasury too. Brilliant picks all round this video!
Thanks! And yes that X-men story is so good, but also some pretty heavy stuff!
great times..... lots of love
I literally can’t watch videos like this. I’m screaming at the screen on all the books I need and want for $3!!! Oh man!!
Great content as always brother! Huge fan!
Haha I get that a lot! Thanks for trying to watch though!
Wow. 59 dollars for all those comics. I’m getting close to retirement even though I’m middle age, I told my wife we are moving to somewhere in New England when the final two kids graduate. I thought she would have an issue with the move because she wants to live on the beach down south. To my surprise, my wife , my wife said that would be a good idea. I’m still trying to figure out if she is serious or if she is serious. Thought, I would share the experience 😊
I love it here, it’s a beautiful place to live
It was like a feeding frenzy holy cow - never seen that many grow men giggling like school kids. Definitely some great finds.
Nice seeing everything you picked up, Mike. I was standing next to you when Murph gave you that Byrne sig…great guy in an awesome community
Agreed John, you are all such a great group of people to spend the day with!
God Loves, Man Kills was a real eye opener for me when I was 11.
That’s some serious stuff for an 11 year old!
I’m curious what movie those guys were talking about in the toy store 😂😂😂
Haha I should ask!
This has sparked an interest for me to do this with some of my local shops. I tend to solo shop but getting a community involved would be so cool.
Let me know how it goes!
Those 3 dollar boxes were crazy!!
Ok that makes no sense that the comics he got were 3$ each. Next episode the comic book store is just giving an original amazing #300 not only for free but they pay him 400$.
I mean Kudos to you but this is a little too good a bargain IMO.
Yeah we were surprised too, very generous on the store’s part, and everyone got that deal.
Maybe you have answered this before. I tried looking through a lot of your other videos I couldn’t find the answer. How did you set up the little shelf on your back wall that holds all your comics?
It used to be some vinyl panel connectors but I just replaced it with shelves I built myself from PVC “L” moulding
@@lunchmoneycomics I have seen something like that online. Once you connect the L Molding to make a shelf did you glue it to the wall or screw it in?
@@ManOfSteel77 I glued the two pieces together with PVC glue, set overnight, then screwed to wall at an angle (after pre-drilling the screw holes so the boards don’t split)
@@lunchmoneycomics Ok great that’s what I think I’m going to do. Except that I’m going to attach mine to the wall with Liquid Nails because it’s a concrete wall. Screws would be difficult.
@@ManOfSteel77 I’d definitely recommend getting a few people to help level it, the PVC, even reinforced, is very bendy. Even using a lot screws it was hard to prevent sag and liquid nails would probably be even harder
Great haul!!
Love all of them!!!!!!!!!
Dang...Awesome Selection! I def. would have grabbed one of those DONATELLO's !!
I want to Live in New England USA, Yous have some many Great Comic Shops! ❤ Great Videos Mike!
That last shop.....😮😮😮😮😮😮
Now, that is an amazing LCS. Wish I was around there. Great gets Mike!
We have a great comic community here in NE❤
Sure do!
If you go to counter play comics don’t expect to find $3 bargain comics. This was just for show. Do expect to find high prices.
Hey Mike! Loved the video but I have a question, where did you get ur bags and boards for the larger format comics? I have a few but can’t seem to find bags and boards for em anywhere
Some LCS’ carry them, but usually you have to order online. I got lucky and bought a magazine once in an oversized bag, so I have exactly ONE for that supes/spidey
@@lunchmoneycomics thanks Mike 💪🏻
Wow what a great comic picking day ! Great finds ! The fellowship alone was priceless !
Out of curiosity, when you complete the chris claremont run on X-Men do we get to see the whole collection? Or is it just gonna stay behind the scenes, in a dark corner of the room never to be seen by us again...?
Haha if I can find the time to do it, I’d LOVE to show it off. I’m just so busy all the time keeping up with events I go to. Same thing with a comic room tour, just never find the time! But I have to do it at some point, I really love that run, so keep reminding me about it until I do!!!
@@lunchmoneycomics alright don't worry I'll keep reminding you every once awhile I don't wanna get tooooooo annoying about it, but I don't want you to forget either haha
There were so Many different variante and Titles of the Lady Death Comic Series that I actually couldn't believe it,dar over 150 but I could be wrong as there were actually alot of #1 Issues and other great Cover Art as well to actually choose from-"Thanks for another great Comic Haul."😊*
Learned a lot and seen really cool books by watching these videos. Much love and appreciation from Finland.
Me and a friend and big buyer / seller in our area were going through some John Byrne FF's at a local LCS and we found a stack, probably 15 that were signed back in the day at a local con, so we split em between us( based on our fave covers) and we got em for $3 each as well. Even now every time I come across Byrne FF's I look to see if they're signed
Man, I'm from Argentina and I love watching your videos, to see what i'm missing here, the collections, the nostalgia, the hunts... Thanks for sharing all of this, and OH MAN THIS SHOP. It'S like a COMIC MALL.
You seem nice and your kindness to these people is reciprocated. Nothing wrong with being gifted books because you have a TH-cam channel too.
I LOVE the new camera doohickey thing. The whole video is smooth and really gives me a sense of the hunting vibe.
man im sooo jealous! there are a few places where i buy comics in my town, but they all charge way too much! im paying pretty much ebay prices for the same books that you guys paid 3 bucks for! i need a new town! lol! Love your channel Mike, you inspired me to re start my comic collecting, and now im hooked again! lol!
Thanks for sharing this, truly excellent content!
So happy for you and jealous of the comic community up there. My heart was racing at that $3 box and the fact that everyone was so gracious to each other did my heart good. This is how things should be in life. Great video as usual.
I love the Superman versus Spider-Man. When I was a kid I absolutely wanted that so bad and never got it. Then a few years ago I found a copy of that plus Batman versus the hulk. And getting those two is what really got me back into collecting comic books. Great fine on all your books. Keep up the good work!
Incredible video Mike! Those 3 dollar deals were INSANE!! I'd have to say my favorite pick up was the Superman vs Spiderman because I recently picked up one myself recently and also that signed Xmen by John Byrne, also my favorite artist! Love the generosity and "brotherhood" of your comicbook community! Take care!
I personally don’t mind when this TH-camr gets free stuff because he seems genuine and doesn’t have a What not page
I really hope one of my stations in the army takes me too New England I really want to be apart of one of those Crawls
