Thanks for sharing the experience. Im from Mmadikola village just south of Rakops. Grew up seeing lots of tourist 4x4s passing by going up north, looks like a fun experience. Looking forward to more videos, thanks for the great content

I spent a weekend camping at Khutse Game Reserve some years ago. The Toyota Fortuner D4D was a real beast on the sands. Our trailer had a tyre puncture and it was such a fun experience patching it. I was really terrified at the camp, lighting my torch into the darkness every 5 mins to see if any lions approaching. I wonder how you guys relax in an unfenced camp with hungry lions roaming about :-)

How did the engine temps go on the sandy roads?

Flippen nice video man! Nice camera & drone work. Nice music also!
See you did the Eastern cutline.
We did the western cutline of the CKGR a number of years ago & we had a weird experience! Darkness had caught up with us and because we travelled solo we pulled of right next to the road and set up camp Literally just next to the road. No other traffic except for the Botswana Defence Force truck with soldiers, presumably an anti-poaching patrol with a fearsome reputation... Aparrently they first shoot and then ask questions if they suspect anyone of poaching. 🤣
Now let me tell you that it was a very weird and uncomfortable feeling to say the least.. .
It was around dusk just after we pulled over. They were driving very very slowly past us, almost walking speed like a meter or two away, guns ready. .. Me and and my wife waved & smiled at them but all of them just looked at us, not waving back, not smiling back & with looks that could kill... It was one of those surreal moments in life! Anyways it is these unexpected moments that makes overlanding awesome!
    Keep up the good work!

I see the little girl and I think ... yes, we like to see and experience the bush and the wild outdoors, but with a young child, watching their reaction to the surroundings is double the experience. EDIT: Okay it may be double the effort as well, but it compensates with seeing how much young children can also enjoy the wild outdoors.

I carry 150L of diesel on board and we had to refuel in Rakops after the cutline. Burned a lot more than I excepted. Hope it helps. Thanks again for the kind words!
