Been there, done that. It does rain in the Kalahari, ... sometimes. Every 7 years it rains a lot. When it's dry, like in summer dry, temperature from minus 4 on the winter nights, to 50 plus degrees in the summer is common. There is a saying, never go solo. You have to be at least 2. If the sun catches you alone, you are dead. That sounds like something to laugh about. I experienced that first hand. By some miracle, I survived. Never say it won't happen to me, or that extra tire or water can or fuel or battery won't be needed. Always have companions and more than one vehicle. Be prepared for the worst. Crisscrossing Africa is a fantastic magical adventure that cannot be explained, only experienced.

Philippe, this was in May. If you watch our video terrified, you will see what it was like in December 2022. Good luck, but it is still worth going. I will do it again, even in the wet season

We always advice people not visit the Kalahari without any team, alone you won't make it to the entrance especially during rain season
