    thank you for showing me the new Landy capabilities , surely like you said before" you really don't need a rough and tough 4x4 to enjoy these places" my perception on air suspension has completely changed. What am witnessing is completely opposite to what ASPW said. about the new landy. Thank you am now evening considering buying VW Touareg because I now love air suspesion😄😆

    Just right, a relaxing really good drive through interesting terrain and scenery, with an equally relaxed commentary. Once again, I really enjoyed this episode, thanks very much Bruce. By the way, it's Sua Pan. Sowa is the name of the nearby town. Funny how many people get them confused.

      Thanks very much Paul. Yes those shocks are a massive disappointment especially since they knew there was a problem with them and they did nothing. One thing I can say about Conqueror is although I like their products their QC and quality of certain components needs to be improved.
      A recall should have been issued by Tough Dog and Conqueror as far as I am concerned.

      Thanks very much. What disappointed me is that when I took the van in after the trip I was told that there had been a bad batch and had been a few complaints. I cont believe that Tough Dog never issued a recall on the batch. That alone says a lot to me about the company.
      Conqueror were great at sorting them out for me.

      They are both very capable and comfortable. The Defender has some benefits over the D5 like it’s plastic/rubber flooring but in all honesty there is not much difference for trips like this especially when on 18’s.
      The D5 seems more “fancy” though.

    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I traded the caravan when I got back to Johannesburg on a Conqueror which also had the same shocks that failed on their first trip. The funny thing was that they failed before getting to the rough stuff. The no name brand VW Amarock shocks that I purchased in Harare lasted the majority of the trip without issues so I believe they shocks are either bad quality or wrongly spec'd for the application.
      On all my Hilux's I use Ironman shocks now.

    Hi Bruce! I have a question about the cutlines/vet fences. How did you manage the vet fence coming from Nata southward to the start of the cutline down to Kukonje island? And also - there seems to be a vet check point some way down the cutline. Are you allowed beef meat across these fences going south?

    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  ปีที่แล้ว

      Best is the check regulations before travelling on these cut lines even though there are no vet check points along them it’s best to follow the regulations at the time of travel.

      I have been using Conqueror’s and Jurgens before that.
      I think it’s a very personal decision based on your needs. What works for me may not work for you so rather go and look at them and even rent one for a weekend to try different setups.

      Hi Dudley. I don’t have a map but its basically the cut line north of Khama Rhino that runs from north of Francistown to the T junction at CKGR where we turned left (+_ south)
