  • MIZUNO MP20 MMC IRONS - 5, 7 AND 9 IRONS TESTED
    The Mizuno MP20 MMC irons are the second generation of multi material construction irons. With a titanium plate and tungsten weight this iron offers great feel and playability without giving up on forgiveness.

    I think you are really differentiating yourself from the other reviewers by testing mishit performance. That is a great idea that brings a lot of value to your tests that is not found elsewhere.

    I recently got fitted by an English pro (here in Cologne, Germany) with the Mizuno swing DNA. I played JPX 825Pro irons before, and it`s just amazing how good these new MP20 MMC irons are - I have much better numbers, the ball flies further, the ballfight is stronger and they are a pleasure to hit. Spinnumbers are good which depends on different factors.
    The fitting:
    The swing DNA suggested three shafts, and it was the shaft which was recommended as no. 2 which was great for me (Project LZ 6.0). It was interesting to see that the shaft which was no.1 (True Temper) did not really convince the pro in terms of spin numbers, so the swing DNA is a great tool to find three possibly very good shafts for your game in minutes but it is important to compare the three suggestions. It is a great and totally convincing tool because there are just so many shaft options. Shaft no.2 is a super shaft for my swing!
    Played with the set today and am just angry that I haven't changed clubs earlier.

      The DNA is a great tool to start with, enjoy the new irons.

    Tried these today, and was surprised how forgiving they are. I'm a 22 handicap but was able to hit them really consistently. Blade is very punishing, hmb lacks the thin topline and feedback.

    Ali, would love to hear about how the forgiveness of the MP20 MMC compares to the MP 18 SC in your opinion. Small increase in forgiveness or very noticeable?

    These coukd be right up my street. I use apex 16 but my bad shot is the absolute flyer so more loft but feel sounds good might even mix mb with mmc

    Mizuno have certainly done it again with the MP 20 Range all three look pretty stunning, but they seem to be almost steering golfers towards having Combo sets. The challenge seems to be for the fitter & the golfer, where do they split the set? As most fitters will only have a 7 Iron in their fitting carts, golfers will be potentially making the decision on the set split without hitting the actual club in the actual range. So that decision would seem to be open to the odd costly mistake, or am I missing something?

    25* loft 5 iron is less loft than my Tommy Armour 986 Tour blade 3-iron from the late 1980's. Interestingly enough, he's getting the same yardages from the same loft's that I was getting back in the day. In other words, when comparing the lofts of yesteryear to the lofts of today, there isn't a single yard difference between the two. In other words there is no technological difference between the irons of today and the irons of 30 years ago. Bottom line, I can get my ten year old Mizuno irons reshafted for a helluva lot less than the $1200 Mizuno wants for these clubs. Have a great day all.

    I use psi at the moment playing off 9-10, I’m good for distance 7 iron goes 160-170. Will these be a good replacement? Baring in mind strike is ok but on bad days the psi is quite forgiving

    How do you think these would stack up against the Srixon Z785's? I've got the KBS $-Taper in my Srixon's which looks to be the stock shaft for the Mizuno's? Seems like they'd be very comparable in what they offer. The 785's were miles better for me than the 919 Tour. Better dispersion and distance but turf interaction was the biggest. It sounds like Mizuno like Titleist brought some of that cambered sole into these?

      No. 919 is their JPX line. This is the MP line. They are both on bi-yearly update cycles so next year we'll see the new JPX series update.

    At 2:37, you say MB. Are you meaning MP? I would think you're comparing it to the Mizuno MP not the Titleist MB.

    • @joebird4718
      @joebird4718 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glenn Wiebe probably comparing it to the mp20 muscle back

    • @banditbaker1675
      @banditbaker1675 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glen Mizuno are also referring to the MP20 Blade as the MB, so you have MP20, MB, MMC and HMB that make up their new range.
