+PlanetDestiny ok. But how about that first curse buff?? I love the idea of the weapon as a whole and now I think I'm going to have to do the quest. Do you think they did enough to the gun because I do.
+PlanetDestiny I actually laughed out loud when I read in the description "Hopefully this auto rifle will be buffed in December", and then scrolling down a bit "Is getting buffed!" Hahaha
Raidiar It only becomes a bullethose at close range, when the front lines perk procs. Bullethoses actually has a faster time to kill in PVP, but that is only noticeable if you are close enough not to miss many shots, This should make Fabian Strategy a very interesting hybrid weapon, being able to pump out damage at point blank, yet still being effective at medium ranges. I personally think that giving it this functionality, instead of giving it a perk that has effects so slight that it's not even noticeable is definitely a buff.
I feel that this gun still needs something to be viable. A larger magazine would help since it switches to a bullet hose half the time you're using it.
To fix this weapon I would buff its exotic perk a lot so that there's a clear difference in how the weapon performs when perk is active and when it isn't active, and I would double the weapons base stability and range
I very much agree with Tefty that the Fabian Strategy's base range, stability, and reload speed should be improved. Also, I agree that when the Front Lines perk is activated it should increase the rate of fire to the next class. That being from 88 to 100. All of this would make the Fabian Strategy a true exotic. It would also be cool if Bungie changed the looks and sound of the Fabian Strategy as well. I agree with Tefty that the sound of the weapon should be different. A much heavier and deeper sound would be awesome for this weapon and should be even deeper and heavier sounding when the Front Lines perk is activated. As for looks, first, I believe the weapon would look much better with a drum magazine instead of a typical auto rifle magazine. Second, the Fabian Strategy needs to look bulkier and more heavily armored in some way. Third, I personally think the Fabian Strategy would look much better in a dark red instead of orange and black instead of the gray. Now Bungie has two weapons to fix. First being the Fabian Strategy and second being The First Curse.
great review. some of your wishes will be turned into this gun in the next weapon balancing in december. When I've gotten my Fabian Strategy, I didn't expect too much from a class specific weapon, It would be otherwise quite unfair to give one class a very good weapon that is unaccessable for others. unfortunatly. the titans are the only ones that ended up with the scrap gun. :/ But I can't wait to get the updated version. it sounds like it can become a beast.
they need to completely change front lines as i, a titan main, too thought this gun was bugged, it is so underwhelming when compared to the hunter and warlock equivalents (although i would argue immobious being the better of the ledgendaries). how about: Front lines - increased Range, Stability and Rate of fire while shielded by a defender ability (force barrier, blessing, armour) or Front lines - Slower movement speed but increased Range, Stability, magazine size and Armour while aiming down sights (to reflect the barriers on the front)
+Tropius Yep, pretty awesome :D - Front Lines perk on Fabian Strategy no longer buffs Rate of Fire as a bonus modifier. -- Front Lines now increases the base Rate of Fire stat to highest speed. Damage per bullet is offset to match the High RoF archetype. - Removed Extended Mag perk and replaced with Flared Magwell. Removed Small Bore perk and replaced with Rifled Barrel. - Increased base Reload and Stability on the weapon to help offset the removed stat upgrades.
+PlanetDestiny Yeah, they made some interesting changes, a lot more...in depth than I would expect them too, hopefully this, with the new Auto Rifle buff can make this a contender for a spot in our loadouts :D!
This was posted just as Bungie released the details of how it's going to be buffed in December! some nice changes across the board, hopefully it will become a bit more viable!
This gun suits my play style so well. I like to get right into the faces of the enemy. It pairs well with shotguns. It may not be like the Ace of Spades or Tlaloc, but then again, Year 1 Titans had no chance of even competing with the other classes. That is what this gun represents in my opinion: The simple fact that Titans could never seem to beat out Hunters and Warlocks. All in all, this gun is meant to remind us that Titans were once the worst class in the game. And, in some cases, still are. But, if it gets buffed, it would represent where Titans are now, and even tell the story of the Titan class from Vanilla to TTK. This gun is always in my load out, just because it is meant to be a brute force, in-your-face type of weapon. And I think we can all agree, its better than The First Curse!
+Thom Beacock UPDATE! Just read the Bugnie Weekly Update, and they have A LOT of great news, including A BUFF TO FABIAN STRATEGY! Bungie.net has the details.
Haha, just needed to wait a few hours before uploading this video (not that you would have known). Bungie just released their patch notes for this weapon. Promising changes inbound... hopefully.
This is the only auto rifle in The Taken King which gives an increased magazine. Things like the Monte Carlo gives only increased ammo capacity. I love my magazine count so when I learnt that only the year 1 Monte Carlo had increased magazine, I was saddened, and then I saw this gun had increased magazine in TTK; But luckily I learnt it's crap... or well, under average.
In my opinion, its exotic perk should be to be able to shoot out of bubbles, but keep its horrible stats so that its only function is to keep people away from the bubble. If they still try to challenge you anyway and step into your bubble, then just switch to the Immobius and kill 'em
Frontlines is active whenever there's red on your radar according to one of the guys from Bungie that was on Crucible radio a while ago. Never really noticed anything tho, glad it's getting a buff because I would never use it over any of the other exotics or even legendaries in the same archetype. Dead Orbit AR was better than it...
+TBLMrBrightSide Nope I love it But it needs to be better, I never use for anything Important with it (Nightfalls, Skrikes, and Raids) and its spent half of its existance in my vault :( I'll have to apologize to it when I take it out again.
I got my first 5 unbroken with this gun. My favorite primary in the game, which is paired with the most useful character there is. (Not Opinionated. An entire team of titans can complete a raid faster than an entire team of hunters and warlocks. They have the strongest damage buff which is melting point, best defence buffs with blessings and armor, And a super that people are begging to be nerfed. Like somebody else stated, Statistically, this super can is harder to kill than any other regardless of how fast you can head shot them with a sniper, and can dish out the most damage one's super can. The only supers that can kill them with a single super blast is The nova bomb, the fist of havoc which indeed is another TITAN super, and possibly a direct shadow shot hit. Just those, while a golden gun is kills with a single shot gut hit, seeming to have practically no buff, a bladedancer is murdered with a snipe precision shot and/or a shot gun and a melee, sunsingers are insta rekt, And storm callers I admit are hard to kill up close. Considering sunbreakers get a 55% defence buff, can heal all wounds when getting kills, and can actually withstand a rocket, STATISTICALLY they are the, and I quote, "Master Race". Anyone who speaks other wise is false.
I feel that pulse rifles need a nerf, the last time a weapon performed so well it got horribly nerfed (auto rifles, most players remember that letdown) the weapon archetype wouldnt need a massive break, but enough to let other weapons have a chance. also maybe completely getting rid of max range high impact low rate of fire shotguns would be a good thing. Remember when found verdict was the biggest threat on board? very few do.
thats such a good call, why arent any of the class specific weapons specifically tailored to that class lol make all them shits synergize with a subclass, like more than just holding onto a super because sunsinger
i kinda like the way the gun shoot but i hate when i just kill a tier one enemy and a major is hitting me and i need life support to take it out, just to unrelible to be juice full
I really like this weapon but sadly I put it in my vaul and never took it out, and I honestly wanted to take it back out The Titans really should have gotten a better class exclusive
I have a gunsmith fusion rifle from like week one of Ttk that has max stability impact and stability as well as having hot swap and rangefinder, new felwinters?
So what I'm getting out of this is... The Warlocks are just laughing at the Titans and Hunters. The Titans' sucks, the Hunters' isn't bad, but it's not all that great either (about mid tier for exotic weapons), and the Warlocks' get a really good weapon, especially with how easy it is to get. Warlocks FTW :3
Hay PD you forgot to mention that it's impact barrel bonus only gives it 2 more impact unlike all other exotic auto which gives 4. aka it does less damage
yeah I want it but I'm still on the shotgun quest since I dismantled my other legendary shotties and I never get a single shotgun from a rare engram I got one today but only one
Great review ! As much as I love Destiny, I find it somewhat incredible that this weapon came out as it is today. With such an unoticeable and actually so "useless" perk for a class exclusive exotic.... It's like they did not play withe the resulting weapon after creating it. It's a bit sad that players often come up with better ideas for weapon perks than the dev themselves :(
I was slightly disappointed by how the other class-exclusives felt more fun and unique. Also, for a more competitive AR of this archetypein PvP, try getting hands on a high-stability roll on the Zarinea gunsmith AR. Short to mid-range laser beam.
No it is not too good. It is the only hand cannon worth using after the patch. Before the last patch it was too good I agree. But where it is now it's perfect. It's still an exotic so it has to be a little bit better than most HC.
+Jacco Stoete - With the Nerf coming in December, it will also be Buffed by the General Hand Cannon Buff, so it is to keep the Hawkmoon where it is now. It will still be one of the Best Hand Cannons in the game, but it will be a bit lower on Range, is all. Increasing ADS Accuracy in December would make this thing a Cross-Map Scout, like in 1.0, so it would completely dominate PvP again, like The Last Word and Thorn did before it... ( I'm an Xbox guy, so I never saw it in Y1 )
Jacco Stoete thats what I'm saying its too good in comparison to any other hand cannon which is why its getting nerfed, so people use other hand cannons
+Jose Antonio Ferrer I think it was the only hand cannon used not because it was better than most hand cannons, but mostly because most hand cannons were absolutely useless. I'm glad they are buffing all the hand cannons though, they used to be my baby in the crucible.
I found this to be one of the most underwhelming weapons in TTK. Like all weapons it has potential, but it's going to need a hefty amount of reworking to be viable. I don't understand how the Exotic and otherwise endgame weapons often end up being inferior to your run of the mill legendaries.
It's getting buffed! planetdestiny.com/december-weapon-balance/
Lol and you just posted a review😂😂😭. Are you going do do another review after the buff???
Noice
+Proluvius Man... probably not. Not sure.
Wow. As soon as this video released Bungie released an article about the buff of Fabian Strategy
+Tommy Kolocouris IKR!
When TH-cam notified me about this video, I was so confused why my name was in the title for a sec.
XD
lol
So your strategy is to die a lot?
Agreed
+Adam Szasz ?
Increase the stability and add increased armor while aiming down sights and this weapon wouldve been god-like.
that would be genius since it has these things that is attached to it idk what it is called
They seriously need to buff / fix this weapon's unique perk
The perk isnt broken. The RoF is only faster by a couple frames, so it doesn't seem like much.
They are!
+DarkHero - Destiny & BO3 Content look at the bungie weekly update, THEY DID!! :D :D :D
+King0fSparta6 how is it a buff by making it a bullethose
Raidiar It only becomes a bullethose at close range, when the front lines perk procs. Bullethoses actually has a faster time to kill in PVP, but that is only noticeable if you are close enough not to miss many shots, This should make Fabian Strategy a very interesting hybrid weapon, being able to pump out damage at point blank, yet still being effective at medium ranges. I personally think that giving it this functionality, instead of giving it a perk that has effects so slight that it's not even noticeable is definitely a buff.
New weapon tuning looks like it will do First Curse, Sleeper Stimulant, and Fabien some justice. Good to see that
it's buffed and the front lines works AMAZING they totally changed the weapon completely
it's still not good
I feel that this gun still needs something to be viable. A larger magazine would help since it switches to a bullet hose half the time you're using it.
To fix this weapon I would buff its exotic perk a lot so that there's a clear difference in how the weapon performs when perk is active and when it isn't active, and I would double the weapons base stability and range
If the exotic perk is powerful enough, I don't think we need extra range and stability, since the gun is meant to be all up close and personal.
First being the Fabian Strategy and second being The First Curse.
i love the recoile pattern, very easy to control, reminds me of monte carlo just heavier hitting
It has same impact
Does that front-mounted shield do anything, like block shots or reduce damage?
I wonder if it increased armor (like the shield in the front) then it would be a better weapon.
Will you guys be doing an updated review for this weapon, as it has been updated and not all for the best.
It is so unbelievably outclassed by Tlaloc.
I would keep it and see how it performs in the future remember at 1 time bad juju was bad dudu
great review. some of your wishes will be turned into this gun in the next weapon balancing in december.
When I've gotten my Fabian Strategy, I didn't expect too much from a class specific weapon, It would be otherwise quite unfair to give one class a very good weapon that is unaccessable for others. unfortunatly. the titans are the only ones that ended up with the scrap gun. :/

*THEY'RE BUFFING THIS WEAPON, CHECK DECEMBER UPDATE NOTES*
+Tropius Yep, pretty awesome :D
- Front Lines perk on Fabian Strategy no longer buffs Rate of Fire as a bonus modifier. -- Front Lines now increases the base Rate of Fire stat to highest speed. Damage per bullet is offset to match the High RoF archetype.
- Removed Extended Mag perk and replaced with Flared Magwell. Removed Small Bore perk and replaced with Rifled Barrel.

+Mega Bakufun I agree. #TitanMasterRace
+Thom Beacock UPDATE! Just read the Bugnie Weekly Update, and they have A LOT of great news, including A BUFF TO FABIAN STRATEGY! Bungie.net has the details.
but us titans were so very helpful in raids soooooo yea
iplaywaframonpsn You do have a point. Raids would be near-impossible without us. No one knows support like Titans. We were made for teamwork.
Does anyone know what the "go on strike" buff does and what it's from cos i've seen it a few times
Or they could make it where depending on how many orbs you generate with your super the stronger front line bumps up the weapons stats
Warlocks and Hunters got amazing class specific exotics and we Titans basically got shit. This goes for the shotgun as well
Nice! Thanks for getting this review out right away!
+Matthew Brown Shoulda waited. It's being buffed: planetdestiny.com/december-weapon-balance/
+PlanetDestiny I think he is being sarcastic
Why does planet destiny have the sexiest voices? Seriously, between tefty and Patrick Casey, they're just some manly ass voices
this was synthoceps, the gun
I'm confused by the buff they are going to give it. when the perk procs does the weapon do less damage but fire faster?
can some one please explain to me what the red crosshairs are? how do i get them?
Haha, just needed to wait a few hours before uploading this video (not that you would have known). Bungie just released their patch notes for this weapon. Promising changes inbound... hopefully.

What about the built-in persistence?
I personally love the fabian strategy!
Well it is good, no doubt. But the fact that it takes your exotic slot without an exotic perk is highly undesirable
+nerfmodder27 Agreed. It's very fun to use but not worth the exotic spot.
Can we have an updated review please?
In my opinion, its exotic perk should be to be able to shoot out of bubbles, but keep its horrible stats so that its only function is to keep people away from the bubble. If they still try to challenge you anyway and step into your bubble, then just switch to the Immobius and kill 'em
awh yeh finally, an actual frontlines perk would work great with my playstyle
What mic do you use, Tefty? Jesus man, that quality.
sometimes I wonder why bungie even bothered to make other classes seeing how Warlock are the only ones that hets real love from them.
Tefty, bungie listened to your wishlist!😂
TONY THE TIGER IS REAL
I am the only one who actually likes and enjoys using this gun?
+TBLMrBrightSide Nope I love it
But it needs to be better, I never use for anything Important with it (Nightfalls, Skrikes, and Raids) and its spent half of its existance in my vault :(
I'll have to apologize to it when I take it out again.
its a good gun but the exotic perk was useless in my opinion
It needs to be Buffed so badly
I got my first 5 unbroken with this gun. My favorite primary in the game, which is paired with the most useful character there is. (Not Opinionated. An entire team of titans can complete a raid faster than an entire team of hunters and warlocks. They have the strongest damage buff which is melting point, best defence buffs with blessings and armor, And a super that people are begging to be nerfed. Anyone who speaks other wise is false.
+The Man-And-Jerry I lost the topic there, but I feel people should stop judging guns for their perks
Will you guys make another video when the changes are made to the gun?
You should review it again, the archetype buff is really good on this AF!!
so what are the new perks to choose especially PvP wise?
Well mr fruit accidentally got unbroken with this weapon
Riiiiight before they announce the buff lol
+Alec Whalen Right....
Ha! That's awesome! They just announced that they're buffing this!! XD
What if it had a perk that kills helped charge abilities?
It's getting buffed it's fun to use its my favourite gun I love it highly recommended except in boss battles. I have it at 318
I feel that pulse rifles need a nerf, the last time a weapon performed so well it got horribly nerfed (auto rifles, most players remember that letdown) the weapon archetype wouldnt need a massive break, but enough to let other weapons have a chance. also maybe completely getting rid of max range high impact low rate of fire shotguns would be a good thing. I cant tell you guys how many times the shield on this rifle has saved my skin...
Don't you unlock the quest at rank 5 Gunsmith, not rank 3?
+Jack Morris I know the legendary one is at rank 3, just want to make sure people aren't being accidentally mislead.
You dont know anything!!! But seriously though legendary special is on rank 2 while class exotics on rank 3 while first curse is on rank 5
+Jack Morris Rank 2 is legendary, Rank 3 is primary, Rank 5 is First Curse
Nope, you get the legendary at rank 2, the exotic at rank 3
Oh yeah I totally mixed them up with the First Curse, my bad.
Can't wait for the first curse buff!
thats such a good call, why arent any of the class specific weapons specifically tailored to that class lol
make all them shits synergize with a subclass, like more than just holding onto a super because sunsinger
I would also like it to buff the life support perk.
can you to v.3 reviews of the older exotics brought into year 2 that would be sweet
I like it honestly, it's not the best thing to use that's for sure, but it feels right to me, in the end that's what we look for in guns isn't it?
Still haven't gotten the Necrochasm after 25 hard runs :(
u know it's not a drop right?
+THEGLOO 282 he probably just means he never got the crux. I feel his pain cause I never did either lol
Oh, so thats what tefty was doing in the control game!
is it just me or does all the rank 3 exotics missing there original perks? I was expecting this gun to give increased def when aiming down the sights
Any chance of re-reviewing this Auto Rifle? My one behaves differently compared to what I just saw on this video
i kinda like the way the gun shoot but i hate when i just kill a tier one enemy and a major is hitting me and i need life support to take it out, just to unrelible to be juice full
I really like this weapon but sadly I put it in my vaul and never took it out, and I honestly wanted to take it back out
The Titans really should have gotten a better class exclusive
I have a gunsmith fusion rifle from like week one of Ttk that has max stability impact and stability as well as having hot swap and rangefinder, new felwinters?
what do i do i dont get the quest i'm lvl 5 now i havent got it :-/
Cya shotguns, you won't be missed!
Annnnnd then it gets buffed. You'll have to DO IT AGAIN!!!!
Wow he tore this weapon to pieces. I love it though. It's fun to use. Yea maybe not the best auto rifle in the game but it's pretty cool.
If u think this was torn apart u should see the first curse review
Wish we could have waited on the review until the buff.
Hay PD you forgot to mention that it's impact barrel bonus only gives it 2 more impact unlike all other exotic auto which gives 4.
aka it does less damage
I'm bumping this cause it needs to be pointed out.
does it come 310?
GREAT JOB TEFT~
I don't get people who dislike weapon review videos.
Oh how I love me some Tefty Teft
Fashion over Function.
fixing the exotic perk woyld make it godly for me
This gun would have been worth it if it had a solar elemental type
+Tony Stark Solar... yep.
yeah I want it but I'm still on the shotgun quest since I dismantled my other legendary shotties and I never get a single shotgun from a rare engram I got one today but only one
for how didn't know, you need to complete the rank 2 quest first
It should soundlike the MG-42 or PPSH, that would be awsome.
Also, I saw a update for this weapon, and, nothing really special for the Exotic perk.
the shotgun they give you feels more like an exotic than this shit lol
I have that weapon and the perk are no the same, what's going on here???
Looks like it has the bacon camo from BOII
calloduddy calloduddy.... murricans... (call of duty)
Can You please Make a video on what guns will be good come December update like autos and some pulse rigles
i think this weapon is good after the december update
Great review ! As much as I love Destiny, I find it somewhat incredible that this weapon came out as it is today. With such an unoticeable and actually so "useless" perk for a class exclusive exotic.... It's like they did not play withe the resulting weapon after creating it. It's a bit sad that players often come up with better ideas for weapon perks than the dev themselves :(
+Chibitox Thankfully they're changing it
it's stupid that they toy with the perks... small-bore would have been so good on the updated version...
I was slightly disappointed by how the other class-exclusives felt more fun and unique. Also, for a more competitive AR of this archetypein PvP, try getting hands on a high-stability roll on the Zarinea gunsmith AR. Short to mid-range laser beam.
Am i the only one who likes this gun?
+Nick Savely It's much better now after the buff :)
I like
I spent 68 strange coins and all I got was to dregs promises
is this video titled planet destiny or something else cuz it's showing me planet destiny :/
Hey tefty, how was chipotle?
Zarinaea d is the same except it is legendary so just use that
ok I'm rank 3 with the gunsmith and I haven't got the quest yet
They are going to buff the First Curse! I'm actually really excited about the buffs. WHY DO THEY NERF HAWKMOON THOUGH :(
its too good, so good that makes any other handcannon look bad in comparison
No it is not too good. It is the only hand cannon worth using after the patch. Before the last patch it was too good I agree. But where it is now it's perfect. It's still an exotic so it has to be a little bit better than most HC.

+Jose Antonio Ferrer I think it was the only hand cannon used not because it was better than most hand cannons, but mostly because most hand cannons were absolutely useless. I'm glad they are buffing all the hand cannons though, they used to be my baby in the crucible.
What's better this or Suros Regime Wich is better at PvE and Wich is better at PvP?
I found this to be one of the most underwhelming weapons in TTK. Like all weapons it has potential, but it's going to need a hefty amount of reworking to be viable. I don't understand how the Exotic and otherwise endgame weapons often end up being inferior to your run of the mill legendaries.
