Rapid Repeat of MacLeod Mega Project for Will Bosi

  • Recently, Dave MacLeod made the first ascent of Bultitude (Font 8B+), NEAR Inverness, Scotland. He first started working the boulder in 2019, where he had two sessions on the boulder before dismissing it as 'too hard'. Even though MacLeod identified the boulder as one he may never climb, he continued to work it as a means of confronting his 'absolute limits'.
    Whilst the first ascent of Bultitude was a story of persistence across a number of years, the second ascent - that of Will Bosi - was a completely different story.
    Recently back from his ascent of Return of the Sleepwalker (f9A) - his third boulder at 9A - Bosi made quick work of Bultitude, in what was just his second session on the boulder.

    Incredible that Macleod is sending V14 at age 45!

    He's hands down the best boulderer in the world right now. No-one is repeating hard stuff as quickly as he is!

      @@MrJarastamon Not sure I agree with that. Woods, Guiliano, Aidan, Shawn R., Lorenzi, Ruana, Shawn Bailey, Flo Wientjas are all crushing and have been for some time. And I know I'm leaving out a bunch of others. Graham and Webb as well.

      @gregspauldini3139 That's not at all what I said. They are crushing, I wasn't taking that away from them. But will seems different in that seems the most psyched about repeating all these climbs like Excalibur, Terranova, ROTS,BOD. Prior to him the others didn't really seem interested. As a fan of climbing its great to see because we get to find out more about these mythical climbs. He is like the boulder version of Stefano in that sense with Silence, Bibliographie e.t.c.

      @@MrJarastamon Yeah but the point is they've been repeating stuff as well. Flo just did the 16 in Japan. Sean Bailey the 16 in the Buttermilks. I think Will is just getting written about more. Which he deserves, he's a beast.

    • @MrJarastamon
      @MrJarastamon 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gregspauldini3139 Yeah of course but they're not the big problems. Also no one else is putting things down at his rate which makes him more impressive. He has arguably set the path for others to follow in this respect. On top of that he does an amazing job on bringing us fan on the journey. It gets us involved, which is probably Also why he gets the media attention.
      And I'm definitely not putting the others down they're great. But to me Will Bosi is probably the best at the moment, ill add Simon in 2nd place in that list. It's fine if you don't agree of course.
