- You can buy an exhaust for your Ferrari on my website - normalguysuper...
Use the code NGS10 and it'll take off 10% any exhaust!
Let's talk about how to get the most out of your Ferrari ownership experience - by modifying your exhaust! Unfortunately most of the modern Ferraris no longer sound like a proper Ferrari, the way we think Ferraris are supposed to sound. But the good news is by putting in the right aftermarket exhaust, you can bring back that glorious F1 scream that we all love.

I had a dream about mufflers last night. I woke up exhausted.
Nice dad joke
thats great
You must know Adam.
Dammit Dan, I just bought the headers and cat deletes. Now I have to buy an x-pipe and valves! Watching your channel is expensive!
Lol sorry... But not sorry? 😂
Kris hanging out with us, you get extreme x10 peer pressure and I swear I've bought THE STORE when it comes to exhaust AND Ferrari parts. For now, I refuse to sell and get a 458. I'm happy with my 360 Spider.
@@studog05 ORDERED!! @Normal Guy Supercar
It's an exhausting subject.
Well done
@@normalguysupercar Thank you sir.
The 355 with a capristo is probably the closest thing I’ve ever heard close to an F1 sound.
LFA?
355 with capristo is epic
The problem is, the wear on the valve-guides is tremendous at that RPM, and the heat pumping through the headers is extreme - you pay a steep price for that sound.....
@@Kidsinamerica this is the main reason why your headers must be protected i.e. wrapped, ceramic coating, blankets, Inconel heat shielding, etc.
@@studog05 Wrapping a sub-standard metal just causes the metal to fail faster by trapping even MORE heat inside the tube. 355 headers didn't fail prematurely due to heat-sources 'nearby', but from the superheated exhaust gases inside of it - gas temps were higher than the metal tubing was rated-for.
Great overview Dan! I still feel that IPE on the 458 takes the cake! Let's hope my new IPE Titanium F1 exhaust lasts a long time without any issues! 🙏🔥
I think it'll be fine
You should just let your dog in on a video. He always barking at you lol
He's in lots of them
He's in lots of them
I still have the factory exhaust system on my 08 F430 spider. Even THAT one my wife finds too loud for her to enjoy a drive. It saddens me that I can’t have her beside me because while I’m enjoying that awesome car, it is equally important that I find out how expensive tomatoes and oranges were the other day.
Lol yup
Great video dan. You are looking and sounding like a pro: watch out Ferrari may have you do a few test runs for there new cars in the future .
Haha thanks
My Ferrari is currently at my mechanic getting a new Kline exhaust with the inconel button. The Kline was a no brainer since it has a muffler/silencer and an x-pipe. I am replacing an superlight Fabspeed raceline x-pipe setup. The Fabspeed is super loud and F1 like, I think even better than the S-line. I would have kept it, but my wife won’t ride in the car, so happy wife, happy life.
That fabspeed is pretty loud.
Dan, this video in addition to your answering my questions earlier is exactly what I needed for my decision for the F430. Thanks for this!
Awesome! Glad to help
Is it because you're full of hot air? 🤣🤣🤣🤪
Kidding!
Love you stuff!
I mean that's also true
When I first got-into Ferraris, there were two choices - a Tubi ($$$$) and the Ansa Euro-Spec ($) versus the US spec cannister. Today, there are probably 4-6 vendors to choose-from, and most of the sound-clips on TH-cam aren't particularly helpful. My advice? Hear each one IN-PERSON through Ferrari meet-ups and track events to decide how much noise you want, and what 'tone'.
True. As much as I've tried very very hard to get accurate sound in my videos, it still will never do justice to how it is in person.
Great info Dan !!! Lots of value.. thank you !!!
You're welcome
Thanks for getting my pipe Dan great video
You're welcome
Hey Dan. Love all your videos. Jeep me motivated to buy 1 of those italian Masterpiece one day🔥. BTW for me the best exhaust for me is NOVITEC 🔥
They have good systems as well
Very interesting . Nice content.
Thanks
Why have you never discussed novitec exhaust for the 458?
If you don’t have this reaction at 5:50 after driving your car hard... you either have the wrong car or wrong exhaust
Awesome video as usual brother
Thank you
Wow Dan! What a monumental amount of knowledge you’re pouring out in this video compared to just a couple videos ago! You’re definitely a gear head lol! Impressive!
Thanks
As an owner of an F12 I had to disagree with the V12 part. The most improvement you can get in terms of exhaust pitch is fitting 6 to 1 equal length headers to 550, 575, 599. X pipe makes some difference but definitely not as much.
Yeah they are super expensive though
Great video, do you sell the Novitec exhaust system?
Not yet. I've been trying to get established as a dealer for them but they keep ghosting me.
First time I heard a R'arri made an impression on me. The Testaronni sounded like nothing else.
Yeah the Testarossa is pretty incredible sounding
I like the new lights. Great work.
Thank you
Great video Dan!
Thank you
What about cabin drone? Is that an issue for aftermarket exhausts?
There is some but it's not bad
I know this video is a year old already but I have heard that the X pipe really does not make that much of a difference for the FF and F12 due to their equal length headers. I swapped the sport cats only on my FF and the sound improvement was mental. I received so many complements for the car sounding “F1”. I am in the process of doing the same for the F12. So questions is for the modern V12’s do you really hear a difference from the X pipe? Thanks
I think so
@@normalguysupercar does it just change the pitch? Any sound clips you can direct me to with and without X-pipe but the rest of the exhaust set-up consistent? Thanks and great videos 👍
Yeah man that 355 capristo is insane. My favorite Ferrari exhaust (aside from that) is an FF with novitec
That's a solid sounding system too
Need a shoot out for us California guys that can only do cat backs. Should be picking up my 458 on Feb 16th.
True.
Its worth mentioning on the 355 (and 360?) you ideally want CAT ECU emulator. There is a company that sells these in Australia. He is on Ferrarchat for those who need one (well two).
Yes, some of the cars line the emulators, some like the O2 extenders, and some you must tune
the sound is soo brutal angry i don't know what i call it Maybe angry force sound but it's make you smile Energize or i think super
Haha
@@normalguysupercar i think the dislike from tesla fans
Buying a 458 built 2013 with 35000 miles on it, should i be worried concerning the high mileage/engine issues?
No
@@normalguysupercar thank you for the quick reply
One should also mention, if you own a stock Ferrari. Odds are you will be replacing the exhaust at some point. Ferrari hasn't had the best luck with Stock exhausts.
Correct
Have a tubi on my 430 currently taking it off for IPE sound much better on my friends decided to hopefully replicate.
S-Line. Hands down
You won't be disappointed
I auditioned every F430 after market exhaust on the market. Most of them sit way up too high like the factory exhaust and don’t help with the header issues. Many others are way too heavy unless you go for Ti. I ended up after years at the factory sports exhaust that is a homologated tubi system. It’s brilliant sounding, saves a ton of weight and has a Ferrari part number on it.
Equal length headers.
Expensive but it there
Kinda surprised there isn't a valve-actuated "test pipe" bypass method to combine an emissions-passing cat section, and valves to route-around the cats bypassing them on demand. A system like that would retain all the emissions-passing capability while allowing the cats to be bypassed / awesome-mode. I know they make valve-actuated mufflers, but so far as I know there isn't a solution to just bypass or run-through the cats (would require a valve in front of and behind each cat).
You'd still need a tune. Plus it would take up a lot of space and probably not fit very easily
Any headers with equal length primaries and a real merge collector?
Not very many
What about the flat 12 of the 512TR? Capristo or other?
great video Dan
Thanks
Enjoyed the video Dan, even though I'm a Porsche owning Rennlist member! ;-)
Haha I take it you saw the thread there? It's kinda hilarious
Last year I installed the Kline Inconel 200cell cats and Inconel Kline exhaust with valve control button to my 458 Speciale.
The car sounds great at higher revs although it could be a bit louder. But for the low and mid revs, it’s lacking the sound I want around town. I feel like I need to drive it hard in the higher revs to get the sound I want. Also, when I open the valves with the button is just barely louder than with the button off.
My question is what can I add to make the sound better in the low to mid revs? Would headers make it better? Are the 200cell cats too restrictive? Any help would be appreciated. Your car sounds great. Better than mine.
Going 100 cell or catless would make the biggest difference. Headers will certainly help as well, they really change the tone quite a bit.
355 > 430 > 458 > F12
Perhaps
@@normalguysupercar Bring on the SoundOFF!!!
S-Line 🐐
I'm a fan. 😁
Hi Dan which type or stages of capristro exhaust did you recommend for F1 sound in F355 thanks
Any. Lol
Yes!
😁
Hi Dan. Will you ever get into lamborghinis?
Probably
@@normalguysupercar buy a huracan!
Does Mo get royalties for barking?
Lol yes. He gets many human treats
F1 Sound comes from the Lamborghini Murcielago

What brand cabinets do you have, can you share a link?
They are New Age Pro Series
@@normalguysupercar Thanks!
What happen to Tubi ?
I didn't know anyone with a Tubi on the 458.
Lol. Listen to the guy trying to sell you an exhaust
Yup
What about older #ferraris The #V12s testarosa etc.
It gets more individualized so it's complicated. Plus finding owners that modify those is difficult
@@normalguysupercar Yeah other than #capristo and #tubi i really dont know any other oldschool systems people use. Still be cool to hear on a #flat12 etc. some of the new systems
Thanks for the lesson Dan, there is more cience that we think in that department. Moe wanted to be seen hhah
Haha Mo wants constant attention
I watched the whole video and hit the like button even though I'm fucked bc I live in California
Ah yeah that is not the best state for exhaust mods
@@normalguysupercar with that being said, do you have any recommendations for a driver in California. I have a 2010 California
@@johnbaca641 for a driver?
@@normalguysupercar sorry. Meant exhaust
@@johnbaca641 hmm. Well I sell the fabspeed x-pipe which would help with the sound. www.normalguysupercar.com/product/ferrari-california-resonator-bypass-x-pipe/
I remember that episode of LivePD😂🤣😂 I was watching it live that night too. Damn I miss that Show, damn shame A&E caved to the Cancel Culture and pulled it from Air.
To be honest i saw that episode somet days ago here in the UK hahaha. That video is even in Russian video sites hahah
That was a strange experience
The problem with all these exhausts is that they sounds ok/good on high revs but the sound terrible on low to mid revs. Sounds like a cheap American V8.
You're crazy. First you have to realize hearing in person and a recording is different, and even though he's using a decent mic to record, every person's sound system is different. Maybe you just have cheap speakers. All of these exhausts sound insane in person, american v8s don't even come close.
Flat planes and Cross plane crank V8's never sound the same to me at any rpm. But that's just me I guess🤷♂️
@@romanteni facts
They sound good in person I think. They are very baritone so it's hard to pick up on mic
@@normalguysupercar please record without mic next time! The mic may sound “studio good” but for someone who wants to hear what it naturally sounds like it would be great. For example look at the 458 exhaust clips from the Argentinian videos on youtube, sounds so good. While professional mic doesn’t deliver that.
