    Long-time watcher, first-time commenter. Your work and attention to detail have inspired me so much that I now am a weekend woodworker. Your videos bring such serenity to my life that I watch them for meditation. Please don’t change your exceptional format. Love your dry sense of humor and your focus on the work (no drama, no bs, no fluff). Thank you!

    Genius idea to ditch the handles and go with the press latches. The top of this piece turned out absolutely beautiful. You never cease to amaze me, Dashner. I watch dozens of these kinds of videos, but I save yours for those times when I am completely undisturbed and can watch without distractions. Kind of like a guilty treat. Love your work.

    The cabinet looks stunning, agree with bringing tones a tad closer to unify. What floors me is how you can work in such cold! My basement shop rarely goes under 60 F, I will lug stuff outside if it's over 32 F - but subzero - man, you're motivated!

    Considering the start state of this piece, you worked miracles on this. The finish is unified, love just nixing the knobs and going with hidden hardware to let the door pattern show, and love getting rid of the painted parts to stain. I was afraid that the top was too far gone. It looks like a solid cabinet. Great job! Thanks for all the content. Happy New Year! 👍

    As a former Minneapolitan for many decades, recall when -3/-6 could feel downright balmy! Above 32? If sunny, ditch the jacket and break out the lawn chairs. :) Perhaps grab a hose, rinse the snow and salt off the cars. The Lane piece turned out better than I anticipated but, no surprise, you worked your usual Dashner magic. Looking forward to what you have in store for 2023. Happy New Year!

  • @caroltanzi29
    @caroltanzi29 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I believe that Lane piece was worth $11.00. Yes, it was a lot of work, but it turned out very nice. You did a excellent job. As an interior designer, I am interested in what the original handles looked like. However, with the pattern on the front doors, I can understand you wanting to put the “just touch” the doors and allowing them to spring open hardware on.
    Still a handsome piece of furniture. Carol from California

    Can't believe how well the top came out! I thought for sure the dark stain on the veneer was there to stay but you managed to pull off another coup by getting rid of 99% of it. About the only thing I'd have done differently myself is going with pulls that used both holes rather than filling them, although the fills did blend in really well.
