A couple of years ago, I sent one of your videos to a friend with just the link and described it as very calming. She said when she clicked on the link, it took her by surprise. She was expecting music, I guess. But she said , wow, that really is extra! You teach us, and calm us, and in general just make me feel better. Thanks for sharing, I know it's hard work setting up your camera, and editing, but I APPRECIATE YOUR WORK, in every aspect.
I particularly like how long you hold the shot of the finished piece. So many DIY videos have a bunch of shouting music with a quick pan of the final product. That's part of why your videos feel so calming. I like Slow food, slow mending and slow woodworking. So satisfying to watch.
That's a lovely table - beautiful wood grain, nice lines and nifty little trays inside. It's the kind of piece that grandchildren will remember for decades to come.
It is so refreshing and encouraging to see a beautiful piece of vintage furniture restored, and not insulted and assaulted by flat paint and appliquéd napkins, decals, or contact paper!!! I know many older pieces of furniture, especially from the Depression era, were lower quality from the start and did not handle the passage of time well enough to avoid a quick fix with paint, and some of those do turn out lovely with a paint and appliques, etc.; but far too many other fine quality pieces are being assaulted with "chalk" paint and "flipped" into what looks Iike a lower quality piece of furniture. Some of them make me cringe, and a couple have darn near made me cry. Thank you for truly RESTORING this lovely piece, and not turning it into a cartoon of its former self!!!
I feel like you would be a really great teacher for like a class or a summer program about furniture restoration, you're very patient and thorough with your work
Your calm voice is like Xanax to me.I also like that there is no music. Thank you. You gave me courage to refinish an old oak table my husband found in the trash. It required taking EVERY piece of wood apart and it turned bout absolutely perfect!.
Widdicomb Furniture Company produced very fine quality pieces. I’m so glad you found that piece and brought it back to life. Bring an interior designer, I always enjoy restoration of older pieces that need a bit of help. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you, Carol from California
Bravo! I had never seen anyone fix a warp before and am amazed at how well that worked. You are a master craftsman with a lovely attitude about your abilities. Thank you for sharing this.
I love that you took something so broken and turned it into a beautiful, functional piece. You definitely saved it from the landfill. You’ve given me the courage to try bigger repairs myself.
Beautiful restoration. I love that you restored this piece so carefully. I also appreciate the lack of electronica or upbeat music and that you talked us through what you were doing. The straightforward recording without the slow-mo effects or sped up staining/waxing was also great. Well done, start to finish!
I am fan of Thomas Johnson restoration . I kept looking for another restorer that was calm and soothing in their video presentation. You are it ! . Very relatable . I see myself doing the same kind of projects. So between you and Thomas I’m set . Thank you and please keep making videos. ✌️
I could watch you work, and listen to you talk, all day. And thank you for rescuing all these wooden objects for which we sacrificed trees. Everything about what you do is healing. Thank you!
It’s lovely to have no background music and I also love hearing the neighbourhood noises, especially at the old place. Your multi-clamping is almost as epic as the Antique Restoration Meister, Thomas Johnson. Afraid he still takes the clamping prize! Thanks, from England
It's refreshing to see someone keep the integrity of a piece when so many "flippers" are painting them to re-sell. Oh, well, one day when chalk painted furniture is no longer popular, you'll still be in business scraping off that paint and restoring them to their former glories!
I appreciate the attention you give to the smallest detail to whatever piece you are refinishing. You bring the piece back to its original beauty. Beautiful.
It's GEORGEOUS! I wanna be you when I grow up... I learn something new everything I watch your videos. I never would have thought that veneer could have been saved. Once again you brought back to life a made beautiful a sad and homeless piece.
I came a crossed your video while looking to learn about staining. I quickly became addicted. Not only are they informative but interesting and relaxing. I find myself checking every night to see if a new one has come out. Thanks for making them!
I love that console table! Having grown up with the cheap version of mid-century furniture, i.e. blond formica, I love brown furniture. Awesome job fixing that warped drop-leaf.
This is just a note because I’ve been missing your videos. I hope that the virus hasn’t affected you too much. You seem to be a very private person. So I won’t say much, other than, I have always loved wood. But, when I was growing up, girls didn’t do this kind of work - and it never occurred to me to say “to hell with that.” So, I just popped in here to tell you that others do this, but I don’t see the love of the journey. I do not see others getting out model paint to more closely match the color of your piece on repairs. I appreciate your hard work, both in HOW you work AND the quality of your videos. I look forward to your next one. Thank you, Leslie
So well done! You show all the steps so clearly and explain what you are doing so patiently. You do great work and I so appreciate you sharing with us! Thank you!
I was falling asleep watching this video and not because it was boring it’s just so relaxing I love redoing furniture and you’re really good at it I love your videos I learn a lot from you I like mid century modern furniture I’m not as good as you but I’m Learning LOL
Another great job. Careful now, we almost got a look at your face there!! What a serious amount of glue had to be used. Hats off to you for your patience and dedication to each piece you restore so lovingly. Joy to watch as always
I don't know why but I tend to rush when I'm repairing any furniture or DIY's. Watching your videos, opens up my eyes of how important it is to take it slow. The after is amazing btw. Your work are so delicate.
You sometimes portray yourself as an amateur. But to me your a perfectionist and professional. I'm the same way that's why I at your videos. I love restoration.
So many furniture flip channels stage their furniture for photographs with an attractive background and decor pieces. I love how you just stick it out there on the driveway and let the piece stand on its own. Another beautiful job done. thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for going through the steps of regluing the veneer so carefully. I have a beat up radio console table with thick walnut veneer. I feel confident that I can repair it successfully now.
Just beautiful!

The furniture whisperer! Taking damaged discarded furniture and giving it a new life. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful job!!!!!
One of the (many) things I like about Dashner is the economy of language; there’s almost never an unnecessary syllable. Thank you.
I particularly like how long you hold the shot of the finished piece. So many DIY videos have a bunch of shouting music with a quick pan of the final product. That's part of why your videos feel so calming. I like Slow food, slow mending and slow woodworking. So satisfying to watch.
I have to say the calming voice without the background screeching music is great!
Ikr?! Makes me say where ya going? Why you in a rush? What's the hurry?
Very high quality presentation and work.
That's a lovely table - beautiful wood grain, nice lines and nifty little trays inside. It's the kind of piece that grandchildren will remember for decades to come.
Looks good. That table is thanking you right now!
Great video - thank you so much. No redundant music or chatter - just useful information. Much appreciated.

Wow!! I would have seen that warped drop leaf and thought it was too fargone to save. Nice work!!
Thank you!
Those drop leafs make the table so classy. Beautiful.
A perfect start to a Sunday morning.
Thanks for watching.
Great work!
A lovely piece.
When I saw those leaves I thought the table was history. Once again, a miracle.
I feel like you would be a really great teacher for like a class or a summer program about furniture restoration, you're very patient and thorough with your work

Really beautiful!!!
Turned out better than expected. Good job.
Your calm voice is like Xanax to me.I also like that there is no music. Thank you. You gave me courage to refinish an old oak table my husband found in the trash. It required taking EVERY piece of wood apart and it turned bout absolutely perfect!.
You are so talented. It is a pleasure to watch you return a damaged, discarded piece back to its original beauty. We need more of you.

I CANNOT believe you brought that back from the dead. Incredible work!

Very good. Thank you.
The detail on that one little corner of the veneer repair was amazing. You are an artist
Do you ever use stainable wood putty for chipped veneer edge repair? If not, what are your thoughts about stainable wood putty?
I love that you took something so broken and turned it into a beautiful, functional piece. You definitely saved it from the landfill. You’ve given me the courage to try bigger repairs myself.
Excellent!!!
I got vaccinated yesterday and it kicked my ass and these new videos have utterly saved my soul today. Thanks man
Just binged the entire "Thrift Store Rescue" playlist... am sad there is no more. Such a simple and interesting series.
Beautiful restoration. I love that you restored this piece so carefully. I also appreciate the lack of electronica or upbeat music and that you talked us through what you were doing. I’m super pumped to watch a new Dashner video. Everyone I’ve showed you to cannot stop watching.
What a beautiful job. A joy to watch. 👌🏻

Literally restoring history! Like a museum absolutely lovely
I just watch the video to listen to his voice and as a bonus, I learn about furniture restoration
I came a crossed your video while looking to learn about staining. I quickly became addicted. Not only are they informative but interesting and relaxing. I find myself checking every night to see if a new one has come out. Thanks for making them!
You always make it look so easy. I guess you cut out all the real elbow-grease! Thank you
It's hard to believe that this is the same piece of furniture when you show the end product. Amazing job! 💜
Table looks great, nice job
Nice job. You are the ClampMaster.
Haha, I thought the same thing. They look like torture devices... 😆😆
Fantastic job
I love that console table! Having grown up with the cheap version of mid-century furniture, i.e. blond formica, I love brown furniture. Awesome job fixing that warped drop-leaf.
So many folks would have put this out to the curb to go to the dump! 🎉so glad it found its way to you!

That is SUCH A GOOD JOB I can't even tell where it stops and starts. Your restoration actually looks better than the original.
I don't know why but I tend to rush when I'm repairing any furniture or DIY's. Watching your videos, opens up my eyes of how important it is to take it slow. The after is amazing btw. Your work are so delicate.
Beautiful. I especially appreciate seeing your veneer repair to the drawer, feathering and layering the stain.
These videos are so relaxing that I'm almost falling asleep but the process is so nice to watch
I was surprised that drop leaf could be repaired. It was messed up pretty badly but you did a beautiful job saving it.
