Thank you! Late one night, years ago, I saw an ice race with these on some obscure sports network. Never knew what they were or where it was besides Europe. However, it was some of the most genuine racing I've ever seen.

it still is chain driven , so it is basically acting as a welded diff.
AFAIK most Ape Protos either use kart or quad bike axles, or automotive-derived locking diffs. Despite the fact that Loris is a bit of a local legend around these parts, I can't recall if he used the former or latter solution... But I'm quite sure he's using a solid axle & the rear wheels off a quad.
