    Did you do a blog on this particular video? I know I saw your other blog from the video that this was linked to. I’ve really enjoyed your videos! I think I’m going to use Stone Coat countertops. I can’t remember if you’ve used them or not but I know you’ve used a few. But your videos have been my favorite to watch. You’ve probably got a solid 100 views from me alone in the past week 🤣 I’m nervous and excited to give my kitchen a makeover

    How would you suggest to epoxy a waterfall counter? The top I get but how would you do the vertical sides?

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's tough because I assume you don't want any seams at the corners, so you'll HAVE to pour the epoxy on the two vertical surfaces. I definitely would not do a dirty pour(where the color is in the epoxy). I would do it like I do and apply clear epoxy and then add the paint color to the surface after the epoxy has set up for a bit. Because epoxy will run down the vertical surface no matter what. So if you wait until the epoxy is almost set, the color won't run as much and you can keep the design(veining) in tact. Then don't use a heat gun on it after you add the design bc it'll cause more running. Does that make sense?

  • @roxr7720
    @roxr7720 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m learning so much from your videos. New subscriber! After the marbeling- when do I add the next and final epoxy? Do I wait 30 minutes and then pour final epoxy? Is that possible? Or do I have to let it set overnight- and then resand before applying final coat?

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! You can do either way...faster to let it set up for a couple hours then re coat. But if you have to let it set overnight then you'll need to lightly sand before applying the second coat. Thank you so much for commenting!

    • @lillyjames
      @lillyjames 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the final coat the same product as your first coat?

  • @carolmehus5661
    @carolmehus5661 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello again! Just a quick question. Have you ever done a "dirty pour" and if so, did you add any slight veins to it?? I'm on the fence about doing a pour but I absolutely love your veining process! Thanks so much.....

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't ever done a dirty pour. I'd really like to try it but I haven't had the perfect piece for it yet. It was my intention to do my tulip table that way but then I got in a hurry and went back to my usual process.

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      mmmm...I'd say an hour to two hours. It should be set up enough that it wont drip off the tape when you take it off, but not so set that it gets locked in.

    How long do you wait to do your top coat and do you have a video just showing that step??? And your edges, do you just let it drip over and form its own design?? Wish I could hire you to come do mine! LOL

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have to wait at least 4 hours and not more than 6 or 8 hours. something like that...the epoxy containers should tell you the time frame for recoating. If you wait longer then you have to sand between coats.

      I've used many different brands. This particular kitchen I used a local company here in Tampa. It's call Mckinnon Materials on 56th street, Tampa. You can google them and order over the phone. The prices are waaaaaay cheaper than online. But, you probably have an epoxy company in your town. Look up epoxy flooring supply company.

      depends upon how many square feet you need to cover. my kitchen counters took 3 gallons for approx 58 square feet. two coats. That might be a lot because it was my first time...not sure.

      I did my L shaped counters in one shot, and one side is 21' long and the other is 10' long. and I had no trouble with it. You have about 45 minutes open time...maybe more. The thing is you have to pour all connected areas at once.
