Agree about the wasted time, I don't drink anymore, was not a habitual drinker but got sick of the hangovers and wasted weekends when I did. The anxiety the next day just was not worth it in the end.

Best thing I’ve heard from this channel is a common one - one drink is always good always feels good but the destruction that comes after is never worth it
Just checking in. Still sober over 1 month now.. I notice when I get hungry or when my blood sugar gets quite low, I will get a thought to drink but I don't act on it.
I recall the late brilliant Robin Williams making the joke something like, 'you know when you're an alcoholic when you wake up and ask 'who shit in my bed?''. As with most great comedy, there is an ironic truth in the humour. Still sober since 21/05, day at a time.
Sober 10 days today. After my Last bender I had insane acid Reflux I see feel in my chest and throat today. 4 days without a beer in my hand and 15 years of drinking nearly everyday. My body is seemingly already packing in at 37.

Hi mate, saw your comment from a while back (the one im replying to) just checking in, seeing if youre feeling slightly better since leaving it? I found this channel when in my first long sober stretch of over 7 months (got sober due to liver) - about 7 weeks ago had a relapse for a few weeks, but been sober again last 7 weeks bar one day. Just leaving a comment to say, if youre sober and have been hit so hard... keep going and if you need help go and get it, plenty out there and nothing lost in trying new things to keep your sobriety. If youre still on the drink, dont take anything you come up with to be "you" either when slamming them back, or when sober as its going to be false 9 times out of ten due to the drink taking over. If youre still drinking, and cant see a way out RIGHT NOW, forget the actual drink, as thats everest. Start by climbing other mountains first which will strengthen you up from the inside out - good food where possible / maybe a walk here and there. And, if youve been hit so hard by life, dont throw it away no matter how bad it may seem. Imagine all these terrible struggles you have, on top of lying there with a horrific illness caused by the very thing you used to escape the initial hardships. Thats a double hit to say the least. (I dont know your situation so not sure you drink or even have been a drinker - but just incase mate :) ) stay strong.
I’ve had social anxiety for the last 15 years and a lot of it I think is down to just hiding behind alcohol for most of my life. Or I use alcohol to hide my social anxiety. I’m still not sure.
Great video and description of your day to day life with and without alcohol, what is a functioning alcoholic heard so many descriptions. My old man used to call my pub 'cheers' where everyone knows your name. If you know you know .
Totally agree with everything said. Every day I can wake up now and I don’t have a excuse or reason why not getting anything done as I am not hungover
