    Another tip to save gas is to let off the gas and let your car coast to a stop light, stop sign, or a turn. Too many people I see speed up to a stop light and hard break for no reason at all. Not only people are wasting their gas they are also wasting their brake pads. Many times if I see a stop light that's red and no one is behind me, I get off the gas and coast it, and many times it turns green before I get there. That saves gas because I don't have to accelerate from a stop, which uses more gas than acclerating a car that is already moving

      but with the costco gas it doesnt last as longer compared to the cheveron although it cost more isnt it better to use good fuel that will last longer ?

    • @msbluubee
      @msbluubee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alejandra Avalos, I dont see a difference. If anything you can use the Costco premium and still save than going to the Chevron/Shell. From my understanding gas comes from the same source the difference is the addictives... and that is if even that... Worked for a company that bought fuel - well this company is filling up many under ground tankers minus the brand name on the gas tanker.

    hey thanks for the tips. another great tip is to make sure the air and pressure is good on your tires. I realized having my tires with the correct psi makes my car drive smoother and save a bit of gas.

  • @brandonjohnson4121

    I don't buy the cheapest gas. That's a good way to get a bad tank of gas and screw up your engine. I just used driving methods. I really wish I had an automatic transmission with cruise control. The real reason to keep your tank half full is weight. A single gallon of gas is 6.3 pounds. If you have a 15 gallon tank, that's almost 100 extra pounds your car has to get moving.

    • @williscurry6557
      @williscurry6557 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really appreciate the time you took to make this video,although I do want to address some discrepancies.
    1. Thermal contraction does make the fuel slightly denser,but not enough to fool the calibrated meters and make that big of a difference.
    2. Particulates DO sit at the bottom of USTs (Underground Storage Tanks) but there are filters at the STPs (Submersible Turbine Pump) and at the dispenser UDCs (Under Dispenser Containment) so no harm to your tank.
    3. I was an environmental compliance technician for 9 years,testing ALL retail gas stations for product containment and vapor recovery and I can tell you this: gasoline vapors DO NOT heat themselves up.
    The container of the product has to almost be hit by direct sunlight to be heated. Your gas tank sitting under your car is cool to the touch even when it's warm outside.
    I say just fill up your tank to the top every time,which is the point I thought you were gonna make,so that all those times you have to pull in to a gas station and have to wait and also adding up all those stops will add up to some serious monthly hours. Just fill it up.

    To stretch and save on gas. Pick one or two days to not drive. Buy all food and groceries the day before then avoid driving the next day. If you work. Pick your days off to avoid driving. Just to add. You could also choose to only ride your bike on certain days instead of driving if the weather is good and you don't live too far from a shopping area or your job.

    Drive a manual if you really want to save gas. Also, change your oil often, use synthetic, inflate your tires, change the air and fuel filter, plugs, etc. Make sure its in tip-top shape.

    COME ON GUYS!!!!!!!! My secret for adding an extra 150 miles to every fillup of my tank is STP Gas Treatment. I have a honda Civic and it gives it an extra 15 miles to every gallon of gas I use soo I usually get around 45 miles to the gallon for every fillup. Go to walmart in the oil department. It's $1.47 a bottle. I use it religously because it works wonders.

    Tip 5 is false and tip 3 is just wrong. Tip 1 is the most helpful
    Tip 5: You dont get any more or less depending on temperature. The holding tanks at gas stations have vacuum sealed double walls with sensors that detect pressure change (for punctures) and temperature change. The temperature within those tanks is always constant.
    Tip 3: The "hot air" you just said helps to evaporate the gas within the tank. The system is sealed and monitored by your car too so this doesnt really affect anything. This system is called the EVAP system.
    -I personally keep my gas around half and fill up at the last mark where I'll have 100 miles before empty. This is to keep weight down. To be as fuel efficient I took out unnecessary weight from my vehicle like the spare tire and 3rd row.
    BONUS TIP: For better fuel efficiency, HYPERMILE THAT BITCH! I do this by overinflating my tires. Instead of the recommended 32psi, mine are a constant 46psi (checked/filled weekly)
    What happens is that less of your tire is on the ground meaning less grip on the road but this also means less friction.
    -If you do freeway, dont do this, your car will skid at an emergency stop or skid at tight turns.
    I personally just keep a pump in the car and lower the psi when needed

    • @angelamoon2640

      Moto- Your tip 3 will get folks killed. People don't listen to this unsafe advice.

    • @Brandonmtlhd
      @Brandonmtlhd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bonus tip is just bad all around. It's bad for your tires, it's bad for your traction and it will cost you more money in the long run, because you will have to replace your tires so often, because they won't wear evenly, just like the idiots that mod their cars so that the wheels run on an angle.
