Hi there everyone. Thanks for watching my content I hope you enjoy it! At 0:08 I say predecessor, but I obviously mean successor. Sorry for that :)

Awesome review. I’m thinking about getting this or the RG35XX so the comparison was much appreciated.

I think it would've been helpful to people if you had mentioned that compared to the RG35XX, the mini plus doesn't have a hdmi out plug, but it does have wifi ! And yes I saw that it mentioned wifi in the spec screen but maybe you could've mentioned that difference more clearly in the review ? seems like it's relevant enough for people to at least mention it, just a thought, otherwise very helpful review

Thanks a lot for commenting, you're absolutely right. You always come up with things you forgot to mention after video has gone live :)

Also worth mentioning that the D-pad on the Miyoo passes the "contra test" whilst the RG35XX does not i.e. RG35XX is susceptible to unintended left/right input whilst holding down. Also the trigger buttons on the back are a bit better on Miyoo as some of the triggers are raised higher making it easier to distinguish whilst RG35XX has them all on the same level

I don't consider the Mini Plus' DPad to be 'excellent' though. It's good and feels pretty nice. But while the precision is pretty decent, it still doesn't compare to the best Dpads out there like the Xbox Series controller's Dpads. And while it's a bit more comfy to use than the likes of the GBA SP, DS and 3DS (+ variants), I do feel like it's a bit less precise than their Dpads.

I've been holding off on buying a handheld for years. I have a flight on Friday so I just ordered this off of Amazon with 1 day Prime so it'll be here in time for my flight.

RG35xx has way more potential now with Batocera.

There do seem to be some build quality issues with this one sadly. The majority of units are no doubt perfect, but there do seem to be a decent amount of people that get a loose screen issue. As for mine, the screen isn't loose, but the left side is ever so slightly more raised than the right side (difference is less than a millimeter) and I can press it down very slightly. And on the top of the system where the light is in the middle, there is a small bulge. Well, it does seem to very slight arch on the very top, but it's most noticable in the middle. And I think as a result, the system does slightly rattle a bit. But after a few weeks of usage I can say that these things aren't game breakers for me.
If I had a loose screen though... it would be. I think the loose screen issue was fixed, but do keep in mind that you might get a unit with some minor imperfections like me. I think it's acceptable enough for a system of this price and capability (it'd be something else if I paid $200 for a retro-emulator handheld system). You'll have to decide for yourself if it's a major issue or not.

How do arcades perform on it? Most TH-cam videos show the same games so it is hard to tell. For example Golden Axe or Alien Syndrome?

Literally less pocketable than its own predecessor.

Same thing for anime character names. It's said the right way in the anime hundreds of times... and while it might be hard to pronounce it in exactly the same way as the original language, usually they couldn't be more off with how they pronounce. It's hard to say 'why' that exactly happens. They don't even realize they're way off.
