I used to deliver sandwiches for jimmy johns & would make an hourly wage in shop & a separate wage when driving along with reimbursement for gas about $.60 a mile. DoorDash will keep you broke no offense, it’s supplement income if anything. Would recommend JJ if you really need a driving job & want to just kick back not doing too hard of work.
People need to start tipping better. Like $10-20 bucks a delivery. I give a flat $20. If you're to f'n lazy to go pick up food, take care of the person delivering it to you.

Unfortunately I've been laid off and shortly I'll need to start uber eats to pay my mortgage, thankfully its a fairly inexpensive one so I can do it, I did a trial run a few days ago and made $70 in roughly 4 hours. I think I could easily hit $140-150 with a full 8 hours a day, it helps if your vehicle is fuel efficient.
Yeah, my car is good on gas, the only bad thing is it’s wear and tear on my car, but I’m only doing it so I can save up for a pc and chase my dreams of being a TH-camr and a twitch streamer one day and be my full time job, some day I’ll save up enough money for a nice ass camera to vlog my life, I hope you can pay off your mortgage fairly quickly 👍
