Ahh you’re really far though. That’s crazy your requirements are so strict. I thought maybe if I worked Chicago it would be more strict. I wonder how DoorDash chooses. In suburb in Chicago.
@@DoorDashingDad I think the requirement is 80% here because it’s a lower income area so there are more no tip orders that need to be delivered. I go to school here but my parents live in the north suburbs of Chicago and when I was home over the summer I was platinum and did REALLY well. Unfortunately though with an 80% requirement it just isn’t worth it.
It has not hit here yet and does not hit here until 15 August but my wife and I are both set up to be platinum when it does. We have both been top dasher for over a year.
I don't know why Door Dash says not to use self checkout for Meijer orders as we definitely can. I went to a regular cashier only once & had a long wait. I asked the cashier if she knows why we have to use regular checkout and she said we don't, Dashers use self checkout all the time. That was the 1 & only time I went to a cashier and have being using the self checkout for a few years now. You should also, it saves sooo much time and we know, time is $.
Wow really? And I’ve been a sucker all this time going in the long lines, waiting for grandmas to pull out the checkbook?! Thanks for the awesome tip! I’m 100% trying it next shop n deliver
I would like to royally thank you! I saved so much time yesterday!!! I had about 4 meijer shop and delivers and I used self checkout for all of them. Massive time saver!
@DoorDashingDad Awesome! Glad I could help. That's why the online gig community is so cool as we can learn tips and tricks from each other. It's not like a traditional job where we see co-workers every day to help each other out. 😃
I do about 4 deliveries a hour (not a plat dasher) so in that 3 hour i would have done 12 deliveries. Making about $25 a hour on average so i would have barely made $75 if i was lucky. Now if i dash for 3hr take a break and go again i might get lucky
@@DoorDashingDad the most ive done is 4 a hour usually 3. Im in Austin the market is alright just a lot of crap orders $3 for 10miles crap. Ill do $1 per mile thats lowest i can go
Last night I did a full 12 hours and hit 100% acceptance rate. It was a rollercoaster, i'll have that video out in about 2-weeks. I felt like I wasn't even Platinum for a while. My take, if your area is not massively busy, it doesn't matter.
@@DoorDashingDad yeah, I guess it depends on the days as well. From last Thursday- Saturday it was busy all day. I did get my biggest tips/ orders ever once becoming platinum though.
@@100liege I was on the phone with my friend and I was like....it's okay Doordash is going to trick me and say it was higher than expected. My friend said, what's really gonna happen is your going to complete the order and get no tip and then contemplate your life choices of doing doordash. Gosh.....I wish he never said that. I felt like shit after that order was completed LOL!!!!
Where is your market? I’m a platinum tier in Philadelphia and being platinum here is necessary cause it’s oversatutated. Looks like you’re going some really good orders.
I'm the farthest west you can almost go of Chicago. There are other random pocket towns, if that makes sense but yeah. If i go closer into Chicago it gets really saturated with doordashers and i do see a way bigger benefit for when the market is saturated to be Platinum.
What's your acceptance? 70%? I was talking with a friend and i firmly believe Platinum really doesn't mean anything it's just all relative to all the other dashers in your area and what their acceptance rate is compared to yours. Completely skeptical opinion.
@@makemoneygrow8526 Not bad! In all honesty, I go back and forth saying Plat is worth it and not worth it. I think you have to multi-app and have 1-app be the "Main chick" and then all the others be "Side chicks" if that make sense LOL
I used to be platinum. The requirement was raised from 70 to 80% AR in my area so it's no longer worth it unfortunately.
Yeah my friend in Cali has some crazy hard requirements compared to me in Illinois
@@DoorDashingDad Oh you’re in IL? I am as well. I’m in Carbondale.

I definitely think it's worth being Platinum.
You get good paying orders i get 7 dollars for like 5 miles most times 😑
That’s not terrible. I’m usually happy if it’s more money than miles. Are you platinum?
7 for 5 is decline but 8 for 5 I’ll accept
The same

Just hit platinum last week. I don’t see much of a difference. Some orders are big and some be very much worth declining.
