Door dash needs to make it a policy that if you’re going to use their app then you have to leave 5 dollar tip no matter what and if someone is requesting you drive 7 or more miles to get to them, the tip should be even more. It’s crazy how ppl want their food delivered for free. SMH🤦🏼♀️
$20 an hour is not greedy when you use your own vehicle and pay for your own gas. There are plenty of people out there without a degree making much more doing TikTok and TH-cam videos and My only fans, porn without any skills or talent.
I feel like the EBT option is doordash's way of making sure non-tip orders get picked up and are not just sitting and getting cold and gross. Good for doordash and customers, bad for drivers.
I mean, it's pretty much in the name "EBT" that's literally what food stamps are called in America lol y'all should have known you were working for charity at that point 😂🤷🤦
The reason I won’t do earn by time - not worth the gas or time .. doordash is trying to get people to take out the trash 🗑 and I won’t deliver a no tip order no matter how they slice it .
I figured out a long time ago that these companies have levels like "gold" "silver" "diamond" "platinum"...ect as a psychological tactic to get as much work out of you while they offer you crumbs. It works too. I see doordasher channels with drivers constantly taking garbage orders to keep their acceptance rate up because keeping your acceptance rate at a certain level will ensure that you get the best high paying offers right? Well how come I still see non stop garbage being offered to them with only a sprinkle of decent orders coming through? I guess thats enough for them? Earn by time is a scam designed to benefit the company way more than it benefits the driver.
Earn by time is basically all the orders dashers declined on earn by offer. It also says in the info spot that most will most likely be no tippers. I've done earn by time for one 5 hour shift in Vancouver, WA and only got $95 and that's with base pay @ $15.75/hour. All the deliveries were long distance 10+ miles.
4pm - 9pm is usually very good on weekends in my area. Usually I'll decline hourly orders on weekends if it's not catering. If I don't get lucky, then I'll switch to pay by order and lower my acceptance to fish for only the best orders.
@marcelagalofre5165 you need a catering and pizza bag. They get you access to catering and pizza orders if you're accepted into the program. During the week, I do hourly at 15.25, but most people in my area usually tip decent enough to make hourly worth it. Usually, I can have $400 by Friday with a 90% acceptance to decline unworthy orders on the weekend when catering and pizza orders are more common. This gives me time to do some school work on my phone and helps save gas and miles on my car. I just don't have it in me to do an $8 order for 4 miles, when I could be missing a $30 catering order... and I got this 90% acceptance to play with after accepting everything all week? No thanks, man. I'm declining that worthy for a weekday or weekend before & after 4 & 9pm order and hope they get their food.
I use to kinda like earn by time myself. But than over the strech of a month took the same persons no tip order three times, and said to myself, I am enabling them. Now I dont plan on going back. Though on the plus side of ebt there were rare days when it was busy enough I got normal good orders and higher base pay.
i just started dashing but i use EBT early in the morning before i go to my regular job just to help ensure i get a few deliveries, sometimes the early morning deliveries have some tips for starbucks and dunkin doughnuts
I think that conditioning determines whether or not you are happy with the results. If you are conditioned to see tips as the point of dashing, then zero tip will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Most dashers prefer tips because if they cherry pick they can feel like they are getting the best deal. But if you didnt expect tips, then no tip would be irrelevant and you could drive happy without complaining
When I do earn by time, I can average about $21 an hour and I love doing my earned by time but I’m in the visitor city with traffic so I made sure I just take my time. I make sure I get the full price while I’m doing it I always, like taking the long trip
Thats what im saying bro im barely makeing $100 off a full tank i used to make $300-$400 on a full tank and i was doin it in a 2019 impala now i drive a nissan versa and still barely making enough to fill this shit up
The best way I found to do with earn by time is don't confirm pickups till the actual pickup time to maximize pay for your time. Usually not ready till that time anyway. All about taking your time and maximize time but I do get tip orders on some days with earn by time and sometimes during the slower periods of day is wen I get those trash orders but see how it works for u. Especially during bonus times. May be different here in Dallas tho. Very big Metroplex
I watched a video that explained the pay by hour is where the apps dump the low paying no tip orders. Now I know I will never do it. I've only had one no tip. Wow, you have so many thats awful!
I guess it depends where you are. I do dash by time and I make 2-250 a day and I go out from 7-9 sometimes 7-7. All depends on location and mines is 15.75 an hour plus the promotions at night and on weekends.
What's the best areas om Denver, like safe to get a hotel I been thinking of heading your way and working DD as I travel to AZ to doordash in Phoenix area
I was asking myself the same thing, I personally don’t mind $12.50 guaranteed but if you only end up doing 1 order per hour and it only takes 15 min that really suck to wait 45 min for $3 to $5
@samuelgonzalez2924 exactly they knew how to get people to think it was for the whole time. And used it as a PR. announcement to appear to pay drivers better. It is always the fine print, the not as good as it sounds with DD.
Those auto parts orders are horrible. I picked up radiator parts, drove 9 miles to drop off at Firestone for $6. 🥴 Earn by time is the only way to keep your wheels moving these days and 80% of the orders will have no tip.
I also want to say in Michigan we are getting 18hr with earn by time in most area's in Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids. I think your market is shot and you should try traveling to a better market nearby cause 12hr is trash. I work close to 10 hours a day I make nothing short of 150 a day
@@Moore.Driven well from my past experience, it could be something simple like the cabin air filter is dirty and clogged with debris, that could cause your ac to not be cold. If that’s not it, then its probably something more complex
I wont do earn by time because where im at its only 12 bucks. Thats poverty wages. I might try it when i go back to denver, its 18.50 per hour there which is more reasonable, still not great though. I dont see the point. If i had a 92 percent acceptance and did earn by offer and accepted everything id make more than ebt.
I imagine Doordash and Uber orders are going to steadily decline throughout this year per dasher. More people are picking up gig work making there be less orders. This due to the fact thay cost of good have skyrocketed over the last 2 years. Credit cards are maxing out and interest rates on those cards are all time high. We are also seeing an increase in second jobs. There will be more and more people taking gig jobs like this to male ends meet and making it tougher for long time gig workers
U need to use ALL the time when in earn by time. U can’t do orders like u would in Earn Per Order. If DD telling u it’s gonna take 59 minutes, why are u rushing to get it done in 36 minutes?

I don't understand how you are making under $11/hr at the end of the day when Earn by Time says $12.50/hr. I thought you got paid to wait so I'm very confused by this. What happened to $12.50/hr plus tips??? I assumed that most of the orders would be no tips though. This is probably the only way they can get people to pick up non tippers' food.
Man earn by time you gotta wait til pickup time fuck around a few min after u pick up and then deliver as close to drop off time as possible to get ur base pay up and make money
and thats not counting the last 26 dollars you'd need to use to fill car up with gas. its really not a good way to make money I'm sorry. Reserve it for emergencies only like when you're unemployed.
