How many jamaican producers are willing to spread this kind of knowledge to Jamaican artistes?? How many jamaican artistes are willing to learn?? Very informative, I love it
@@ronmorgan8032 this here is uncensored knowledge about about the music industry. What about if they widen their horizon to sports and culture as well.
U tek the word out of my mouth. These guys should set up an advice centre or panel in which artist whether new or those already in the business could pay and get info from
As I said before... educated people are not always smart. I talk up the things all the time and people think I am chatting crap. But reality a reality. 🤴🤴💯💯💯🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🥂🥂🥂
Love this ... young artiste pay keen attention ... know how u get paid and know how to market ur stuff .... please talent is good ... but knowledge of the business is what is needed
Brando Music Review Show True but on the other habd i do think for the last 10yrs Jamaicans are in this negative mindset about our music.Nobody has nothing positive to say no more ,its nothing but pire complaining and trying to compare our self to other Markets when these markets are a hundred times larger than Jamaica and have more resources and capitol to push their artist .We need to stop complaining now and just do .If am a promoter and wanted a jamaican artist to perform for me ,i wouldnt want to pay top dollars because the dont know they worth .We need to start giving thanks for this blessed music we have and stop the constant complaining.
Dj SoSick me never sey ntn wrong I told the amount of money it depends on the deal with the artist and the producer ....we don’t know there deal but the vevo makes that money
How much do you think they paid nightly fix to promote redbull which contains cocoaine extract and is banned in the country it was first made in austria ?
Thank you for this interview. I recently had an exchange with someone here on TH-cam, who cited his/her artist's TH-cam views are evidence of how successful the artist is. I laughed.
Khago is doing just what they are talking about, his fans are really supporting him and buying his records just because he has a relationship with them.
This was very important and I am happy that you guys bring these 2 guys under program to break down certain things in this music industry and naro You should have call name don't let Ari tell you know are no one is tell you know this is what makes this program different from other programs but this was definitely a good topic this week and like I keep on saying When these people come on your program they are relax they wanna talk and you guys give them that platform to talk and express themselves better than any other program in Jamaica I will say that much you don't take over the whole interview you let them speak and then you know when to interject especially ari But I hope that you guys bring more of this type of conversation to this platform also because I just need to know the business we all need to educate our self and you guys could help and that's exactly what you did with this particular program good job
Great interviews now I understand why a lot of records company signed artists and hold them not utilizing them bc they’re sometimes skeptical that the artists might not capable of selling certain amount of records/units per singles or albums.🔥❤️
Yo yall need a next podcast dedicated session with some notable distributors & studio houses to edify these young songwriters, producers & artistes #exposeindustrysercects
True, and what Jamaica REALLY REALLY needs is people that know how to actually write proper songs!! A lot of our artists are two or three hit wonders and then they fall thru the cracks.
Naro don’t make People Cramp your style you are the one who makes the show so exciting and you are the spice in nightly fix no pun intended. talk of the things them you could’ve call a few names that would’ve made the Show more awesome although I know it could be dangerous with how these people can get violent sometimes so you have to watch what you are doing also big ups
Hands down the most informative interview on Nightly Fix. That’s the beauty of the podcast format, it allows for more nuanced and in depth discussions. There was also clearly more listening from the hosts, a sign of their yearning for the information dispensed. On a personal note, I have the pleasure of knowing both these gentlemen for almost or just over 40 years (my apologies to Nigel and Jeremy for revealing their ages)
i resisted watching this episode cause I'm like "cho, not interested". out of sheer boredom i watched n this was sooooooo informative!!! thanks guys! good episode.
This is easily the best Nightly Fix interview of all times - They dropped so much knowledge. Imma watch this several times and take notes. Thank you so much for this and to eremy Harding & Nigel Staff big up you guys are true Generalz ....Blessings!
Very good video. I was at a seminar Jamaica Music Conference the other day and they were talking about some of these things but I really learnt some more interesting things.
Very INFORMATIVE conversation from Mr Jeremy Harding and Mr Nigel Staff......After more than 12ys i still go back and watched that video BATTLE OF THE KRUGER
Powerful chess move by nightly fix, the point of this interview will miss alot of people. they're humbling alot these DJS who hype over they're five thousand album sales on itunes
This is exactly what Travis Scott did when he dropped his album. He started doing merch and gave the album as part of the package, thereby getting revenue from the merch more than the album itself.
Jeremy Harding and Nigel Staff sat down to speak with Nightly Fix!!! I hope people understand that that is a massive honour for Nightly Fix, and it also shows that major industry players appreciate and support what they are doing. Big up yourself Nightly Fix, keep doing your thing and keep maintaining the neutrality in Dancehall/Reggae Music.
This interview is one of the best and most informative I've ever seen to date... where is part doś (2) it is very necessary... Big up Nightly Fix Ari and Naro... Rest of shows can do u guys a favor and SYM... ☺😊
i have watch this interview numerously and i have to say this interview resurrect nightly fix after the whole spice thing first hand musical education n information at its best big up naro n arri for doing a wonderful job
Fix , I am watching from Canada good job, one of the most educative and relevant episode I have watched, have to watch this a few more times later, good job this was very informative
Adaj Johnson Russian is more on the sport light and more active on social media, but to speak the truth, Steven Di Genius is the one on the top, he’s just low key and not that active on social media to be talked about!! Just check on their achievements, then you can see who’s the man and don’t get me wrong, Russian is doing very well as well!!
Another important point is that 1 million youtube views by first world country viewers generate far more revenue than the same number of views from a third world country. So if a video is big in Jamaica or a Latin American country the revenue is far less than if its core viewers are from USA & Europe etc. Same goes for streaming platforms like Spotify etc, but more so for TH-cam.
Dancehall is in one big mess. We need a music federation that supports all genres of music that come out of jamaica. Artists need good advice when they just come into the business as well as a good intelligent team around them that knows the music even as half of these guys do. We need to also have a purpose built concert venue in each parish of jamaica where it can seat at least 3 to 5 thousand people. And at least one venue in Kingston that can seat 10,000 or more people as its the capital or main city. I think the artists can come together as well as their managers n the producers also etc to make this work. U know how much ppl would fly into jamaica each month to watch shows in these venues which equals to more money for the artists and higglers etc
Great info. Artist don't make money from sales/streams per se, they make money from the exposure they get from streams (i.e endorsements, commercials, sponsorships, concerts, shows, appearances etc...)
Dj Akademiks did this breakdown once on the channel. Props to Nightly Fix for pushing the culture forward with informative and useful knowledge. Now let's see how the artists do with it if they take heed
Big up Nigel and Jeremy .. Best show ever @nightyfix .. great choice i Guest .. 2 Giants who are not afraid to spread knowledge .. its the same thing im doin in Guyana at the moment .. showing them copyright , Registration of music with BMI or ASCAP .. and how to put ISRC codes to the music so u can collect from your work ..continue bringing more content .. I feel u need to do a show on Management , Branding n Bookings Agent , Public Relations aspect .. could be broken up into several shows .. I recommend bring on Romiech for Branding/Management or Cory Todd .. Ray Alexander from khool bookings .. then again tht might be a conflict of interest as he books for Spice ..
Big up nightly fix... Like fi c the big producer dem pan the show... Saw tony Kelly a couple days ago... Lol, would love to see Dave kelly on the show thou...
Great idea. What I've come to realize, people don't like giving money without getting something in return ( as little as it may be). So instead of asking for a donation, have merch on sale. This will give the brand more volume and recognition...
Very educational and depressing atthe same timeI Now I have a better understanding of the monetization of digital music. Jamaican music is a bit complicated though. We all enjoy mix music than actually listening to an albums so we not going to buy albums. Until we create a way to limit all the reggae and dancehall mixes available online, the industry will be hurting.
How many jamaican producers are willing to spread this kind of knowledge to Jamaican artistes?? How many jamaican artistes are willing to learn?? Very informative, I love it
Key word willing to learn
how many jamaican artiste and want to be artist suggested to you to drink redbull today? they pay me to ask these questions unlike nightly fix!
Fix going above the regular!!! Great job ari and naro
Too Tall... I wonder uff this would go viral like the spice controversy?
Nope only fuckrey go viral and this fuck is knowledge that we as young musicians need to learn and take into consideration
