She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and it's not about appearance but her spirit makes her the most beautiful. She has deeply encouraged me. I am not homeless but I am disabled and I often get depressed about it and about living on a fixed income, keeping up with medications and doctor visits, trauma, etc just doesn't seem fair that the trauma of my past has left me with so many problems. but Joanne is so happy with so little. Twinkle Borges, the woman who created this camp and who was the face of the whole thing, passed away a few months ago. She was a tireless advovate for the homeless and managed to secure a piece of land from the state to create a permanent location for homes for these people.
I think that is a nice place for a homeless camp. She can cook, garden, walk to the beach, have a dog, make friends in a community, and be safe living there for five years and even feel happy about it. You can't say that for most homeless in America. She is safe and warm, and the police leave her alone there. I hope she can stay there for as long as she wants. It isn't for us to judge how someone else lives. Some would rather live there than working nonstop to pay rent and not having relationships like the man said. They put community over money. Just because it looks humble, and primitive doesn't mean it is bad. I am glad they still have a patch of land they can live on. Sometimes they are less happy in an apartment. Neighbors sometimes prey on each other instead of helping each other or even leaving other people alone. It can be very stressful.
They seem genuinely happy. While everyone else is a part of the rat race seeking a "nicer" home and more material stuff, these people are free. I am sure that they have hard times too, but it is probably so much less stressful than the rat race.
This elderly lady is a very nice lady. She is smiling and her tone of speech is very polite and sweet. Her words are very clear and her tone is free from arrogance. This is a sign of her very good nature.

So how are you doing now? Has life improved for you and if so would love to hear how you were able to overcome…it’s very hard to rise above the grips of poverty!..blessings ❤
I loved sleeping under the stars when the weather was dry! The moon would come out from behind the clouds & many times I would instantly wake up & see the beautiful sight! Sometimes there would be a corona or halo. One time there was a rainbow in the halo. Though it was probably more like an icebow. My Gr-Gr Grandfather, who was Tuscarora, was adopted by a Cherokee family. I went to Cherokee once to try & find their descendants.

In a sense, I suppose it isn't too dissimilar from how people lived before the arrival of Europeans or other outsiders. We may look at what they are lacking, from a modern perspective, where we have far different expectations about our general "needs", but they have most actual necessities covered...shelter(of sorts), water, food, etc.. Not having to worry about cold winter months really does take a huge concern out of the picture. Not quite as bad as living under a bridge in New England, in February. They even have some sort of community support structure, which can make a world of difference.

now in fact Mr trumpy bumpy talked about a couple of times last year his solution to the homeless issue is simply to put up internment camps AKA work camps. yeah he wants to pass out billions of dollars to especially police forces but of course the state's counties in municipalities to basically go and unconstitutionally around these people up at gunpoint throw them in the camp and then he talks about an evaluation A stammers around quite a lot especially in his first speech that took place in either late February or perhaps early March of 23 he stammers around a lot when it comes to this evaluation of course he's flying under drugs and alcohol and talking about how if you refuse the quote unquote help then you go straight to jail and of course then we don't know what happens to them but I would say that the help is actually more like if you refuse work because these camps will be set up is nothing more than a free if not cheap labor stockade for any given corporation in the vicinity so if you refuse to basically go work for slave wages then they would assume to put you in jail except we don't know what kind of jail this is literally what the man proposed twice last year and of course it's all under the guise of cleaning up the streets. so basically his solution is to blow billions of dollars to build out this prison camp infrastructure that we know will eventually be sold to corporations much like most of the federal prisons are controlled by corporations and of course not only to spend the billions on that project but what is also included is to buy off the police forces while at the same time efforts to federalize even your local police forces this is what they're willing to spend money on we can't house our feed people because somehow we don't have the billions of dollars but then we conveniently have the billions of dollars when it comes to just playing imprisoning people.
This video sheds light on the dark side of society-where homelessness forces people to live like castaways. It’s a powerful reminder of the urgent need for compassionate solutions and better support systems
There are people living peacefully on a shoestring budget in rural areas all over this country. Resourceful, peace loving people who manage to survive.
Joanna is such a pleasant and sweet lady I hope she gets the help that she needs she doesn’t have much and still she is not complaining what a blessing some people have everything that their heart desire’s and yet they are so miserable and have no peace

Greetings from Malaysia. Speaking of Hawaii, beautiful beaches, beautiful ladies doing the hula between coconut trees gently swayed by the breeze, comes to mind. This is beyond sad and unimaginable. Even if the govt could not help them with proper housing, they could at least provide them with the basics - electricity, water and sanitations, especially for children and those in their twilight years.
Yep, Joe Biden flew to an African country just last week to give $1 billion to a regime more aligned with China and Russia. I guess our foreign and fiscal policy arranges it so a few can be rich and powerful at the great expense of many. It's a bit more complicated than we'll ever know for they don't tell us truth just like how worldly corporations are highly secretive and covert.
Joanne is old school kupuna in Hawaii that's why she touched your heart. A lot of older very local Japanese like her are very sweet like her. I worked for Catholic charities 2000 to 2006 and as outreach worker and I had to go get children from these camps and make sure they were in okay conditions. They would put on their backpacks and go to the bus stop like the rest of the kids. Nanakuli Waianae Makaha. BTW he mistook POW. The power that was listed on the cord was short for the name of the encampment. Spelled PAU does mean stop/end/enough/done. I just left Honolulu in May to live in the mainland where my daughter can get a better life in education.
I remember being in the same situation not to long ago. Whatt kept me going was my bulletproof state of mind. We weren't homeless. Homeless is a state of mind. We were "Houseless." 💯🌳🧘🏿♂️🌻

That camp would be a nice rustic tropical village if it wasn't for the blatant, out of control hoarding. Even in poverty, the American consumer's disease has a strong hold here. There's money in all that scrap if collection for cash could be organised. This place, contrary to your companion's belief, is nothing like overseas. Folk living simple village life overseas would be pretty shocked to see the setup here. It's a mess. Overseas, rustic tropical villages are tidy and swept clean. The folk overseas don't hoard. They collect and sell. An enterprising resident could start a scrap redemption business here to clean the place up and make some money. Every village has a resident scrap merchant overseas. This camp is a showcase for consumer folly. Senseless consumption probably got these residents broke in the first place and now they can't stop collecting and hoarding senselessly. Some individual camps were tidier than others, they're trying and probably pretty content. A rich person is a person without bills to pay. This village could be really nice. Location, location, location... Simple shelter is fine in the tropics.

JoAnn is a precious gem making the best life she can under the circumstances and is very friendly and happy regardless of what she has or doesn't have! Great interview with her!
I moved from Hawaii, Waianae/ Makaha 12 years ago and Wow...they really built that place up! Mahalo Nui Loa for highlighting what it's like for so many of the island folks on the daily! Makes me sick that everybody keeps voting Democrat though! Yeah...go give plenty money to Ukraine and other Bs while so many of our own Citizens live like this! AUWE!!!
I agree I don't know why they continue to vote for Democrats when they have never done anything for the Hawaiians but cause them misery and make'em Lolo 😑
Yeah, like the repubs give a shit ☜ (↼_↼)
😢😢😢🥺🥺🥺In Germany is not better. LG from Blackforest 🥰🥰👋👋👋
Joan is such a nice person may the good Lord bless and keep her from all harm 🙏👍😊🇯🇲
Joanne, such a sweet soul❤ may you continue to be blessed. I’m happy you’re happy.😊
This lady is such a sweetheart 💕 ❤️
Think when Joann was younger she would have been a real beauty in fact she still is.Beautiful inside and out.
Such a sweet soul ❤…to be content and filled with such gratitude!
I'm a South African and when i c something like this, it's really really sad that human beings are living worse than some animals, may God bless and help these people
What an absolute beautiful woman, heart and soul....okinowan too
It’s unfathomable for the so called richest country in the world and its people have to suffer the like this….ugh!
God forbid Mark Zuckerberg should help his fellow man in Hawaii! He could pay for garbage service and bathroom/ shower facilities. If I lived near there I’d happily pay taxes for cleaning this place and giving them a better quality of life instead of giving money to other countries. I pray that JD Vance will be our next president after Trump and we put Americans first for a LONG time!!!!❤🇺🇸
Thank you Nick, Kim and everyone!!! You’re doing an amazing job of exposing the truth!!
now in fact Mr trumpy bumpy talked about a couple of times last year his solution to the homeless issue is simply to put up internment camps AKA work camps.
yeah he wants to pass out billions of dollars to especially police forces but of course the state's counties in municipalities to basically go and unconstitutionally around these people up at gunpoint throw them in the camp and then he talks about an evaluation A stammers around quite a lot especially in his first speech that took place in either late February or perhaps early March of 23 he stammers around a lot when it comes to this evaluation of course he's flying under drugs and alcohol and talking about how if you refuse the quote unquote help then you go straight to jail and of course then we don't know what happens to them but I would say that the help is actually more like if you refuse work because these camps will be set up is nothing more than a free if not cheap labor stockade for any given corporation in the vicinity so if you refuse to basically go work for slave wages then they would assume to put you in jail except we don't know what kind of jail this is literally what the man proposed twice last year and of course it's all under the guise of cleaning up the streets.
so basically his solution is to blow billions of dollars to build out this prison camp infrastructure that we know will eventually be sold to corporations much like most of the federal prisons are controlled by corporations and of course not only to spend the billions on that project but what is also included is to buy off the police forces while at the same time efforts to federalize even your local police forces this is what they're willing to spend money on we can't house our feed people because somehow we don't have the billions of dollars but then we conveniently have the billions of dollars when it comes to just playing imprisoning people.
No one is going to do that. Then there would be zoning, codes, ownership. Etc
That’s just sad.
What about Oprah?
Money for Israel and Ukraine but nothing for the American people
We are so blessed. We have a roof over our head. God bless Joanne We will pray for her as well.
This video sheds light on the dark side of society-where homelessness forces people to live like castaways. It’s a powerful reminder of the urgent need for compassionate solutions and better support systems
Sometimes it seems people who live in these conditions have a great outlook on life, like Joanne. Not poor in spirit at all.
Instead of "free" money for any foreign government or homeless, how about giving the folks that pay the taxes their money back.
Theft
How about decent housing for everyone
Joann is such a cute little elderly lady and she is positive despite her limited resources and living situation.❤
What a beautiful interview..Thank you for sharing it,,What a beautiful woman 66 yrs young❣The world could learn alot from this ol' ❣soul
There are people living peacefully on a shoestring budget in rural areas all over this country. Resourceful, peace loving people who manage to survive.
She’s a Sweetheart Nick!!!❤
Joanna is such a pleasant and sweet lady I hope she gets the help that she needs she doesn’t have much and still she is not complaining what a blessing some people have everything that their heart desire’s and yet they are so miserable and have no peace
Nick and mappy are really out there showing us what’s going on…
Mappys cool
Joann is such a lovely woman. I spent a lot of time in Waianae as a child. It's a beautiful place with beautiful people like Joann....and my relatives, for instance.
I don't see hardly any people. Joanne's so sweet. I feel for her. It's hard when you get over 60. Physically it's very difficult. It seems peaceful there.
They’re out surfing 🏄♂️
Yes, older age is very hard on the body. I wish she had some help.
Wow. This is so sad.
Yay you're back doing what you do best, showing us the down and outers and where they live. Good one Nick!!😊
And we send money across the sea to foreign countries😮
Thanks Nick for this video of Joanna cheerful and thankful for the little she has Peace to All May Our Heavenly Father Bless all! LOVE 🙏💘
Joann was so nice , hope she gets everything she needs ❤
Get used to this.
Pretty soon the whole country is going to look like this 😅
Amurika empire is falling apart fast!
No it really isn't. America has such a great geography that it does well no matter who's in charge.
Hi Nick N ALL! ThankYou4Sharing!!! 💙 🕊 MuchLove
A+ Story Boss!!! I Was Hooked 0:00-32:57...Beautiful People Dat Still Keep Da Faith & Hope Things Will Get Better. GOD BLESS ✊🏻🙏🏻
I remember being in the same situation not to long ago. Whatt kept me going was my bulletproof state of mind. We weren't homeless. Homeless is a state of mind. We were "Houseless." 💯🌳🧘🏿♂️🌻
Where is Oprah now? Nowhere to be found!
Off getting 👉🏿 👈🏿'd by Kamala Harris
Where's the children Oprah?
In my area if you give a homeless person, nine dollars worth of McDonald’s they throw it in your face. They are dope sick. They wanted the money for a fix.
Yes its a drug problem all over the country
I doubt it I mean that has happened I'm sure there's a few of them but it's not the majority.

@@reneebru1 The water bowls looked empty, unfortunately!
It's sad all around
Joann,s family came from Okinawa ryuku islands of Japan the people who live there have the same bright positive welcoming spirit like Joann I lived on Okinawa they are the most beautiful people I wish Joann the best of luck and long love and happiness
Don't worry Zelinski just bought his wife a new Bugatti and himself a new $75 million dollar yaht. But we american tax payer are footing the bill FJB.
You hit the nail right on the head... It took MAGA pulling together to change things, it's gonna continue to take MAGA coming together to fix what Dems f@#$&d up!
I heard Bugatti for slightly used, so he got a good deal for that, so don't worry.
@maxya2 well at least he's getting us a break..
@@mccjoe01 I hope US will not abandon Ukraine. Did you made up the story about Bugatti and the yacht yourself or you watching Russian propaganda channels?
@maxya2 old news from a couple months ago. That's the one thing no one has to do in this situation is make things up. It's complete insanity.
Ohhh my 😢, Nick you showing this to us 😮is so sad , I just shocked of how some people has to live . The greed , it should not be like this 😢. I hope someone can help her so she can apply for her social security so she can get more income and get out of there. She’s a beautiful lady . She has a beautiful smile and even with all she is enduring she smiles☺️.
Joann could have her own channel I'd watch that every day.
I think it can look better , they could come together and just clean up and organize their stuff
Joanne is a beautiful soul, I pray she will get some help, God bless her!
