@@NightShiftScaleModels Also, you made me change my mind. instead of a 1:35 abrams, i will literally buy this T-55, mostly cause i had a T-62 and it turned out...just bad, and i want to give the early MBTs another try

not tried putty for welds yet...been using stretched sprue soaked in cement then when tacky fit, then use thin blade etc to make the weld effects...nice job Martin.
This is awesome. The t-55 is a brilliant tank for modelers There is so much license to do what ever you want to them. One of the few tanks that fights everything and everyone.... including itself.
Love the 1/48 scale as well. Tamiya makes the best detailed models there is. Pricey models but u always get what u pay for. I havent been disappointed yet. 29yrs doing models so yes there the best.
This is fantastic. The T-55 a is one of the best modeling subjects due to the almost infinite customizations and variants that are out there. Some still in service TODAY!
I was having a rough day at work and I watched this video while eating my lunch and I feel so much better. Thank you for the wonderful video as always!
I'm not a modeling/modeler person, however, it's really cool to see what the tanks that I've learned about over time look like when someone does personal touches to them. The details like the worn down tracks and prototype-like add-on armor is really neat. Keep up the good work, I'll stay tuned! (Also I totally agree about the tarps and storage, it makes the model feel more alive and vibrant to me)
I am so happy that you did this because I wanted to do the exact same thing to a Tamiya T-72 M1. Heavy field modification and stuff because I have this idea of a Warhammer 40k army using "ancient relics" in their salvaged army.
Hell yeah! Been waiting for this one! Also, I'm really jealous that the smaller scale one has those tracks and the to-scale guide for assembling the tracks. The 1/35 I'm working on had rubber tracks which are fine, but I grabbed some aftermarket ones from Miniart that click together, and I tried gluing them all together at once and bending them around the wheels without much luck. Now I'm going to try and go back and re-assemble them in smaller sections that I can then glue together.
Maybe you left the glue set for too long? 5-10 minutes is usually enough if you use quick setting cement, you can also try it by feel. If the track is flexible but it doesn't fall apart if you manipulate it, it's the best time to wrap it around the running gear.
@@NightShiftScaleModels Yeah, I think it was a combination of too much glue in parts, and too little in others. Turned it into a link of track that just broke apart in places, and wouldn't bend in others.
Courtesy of TH-cam, they finally added a better function. Originally you had to manually write each caption and sync it or just rely on automatic captions. Now you can copy-paste your entire script into the app and it will sync it automatically :)

I just finished the assembly of Tamiya's 1/35 T-55A w/Aber detail set. I mostly used a Voyager set I had laying around, Aber's metal barrel and a set of Miniarm resin fuel drums. IMO, it's one of the best T-55A kits on the market IMO. The 1/48 version is definitely on my list to get soon.
Recently got into making models (by recently I mean 2 weeks ago) since then these videos have always interested me seeing how you customize models with your own resources
This was amazing to watch. I had an Abrams M1A4 model when I was 15 and it was my first and last model. Came out poorly because my guesstimate was always more cement than needed and it came out to the say at the least rough. Amazing to watch. Thank you!
My oh my, a few weeks ago I bought this kit and when I saw it on your bench in the previous video I was hoping that would be the next build. Who would have guessed!
I love it, sadly I’m not very good at modelling, and I also love your channel, maybe someday you could make a full blown tutorial of painting kits/figures?
The fact that u can make such cool models with modifications and so many extra things and still making it cool looking while I am very careful and I still mess it up sometimes makes me irrationally angry lmao
Awesome! Thought you would have detailed the bricks before putting them in. Guessing you have a way to do that which we will find out in a future video ☺️
These Syrian "tanks" are my true hobby! I have GBs of photos of this kind of "modifications" of the old Soviet beasts. Uparmoring with suspension leaf springs from trucks, concrete blocks, sandbags, pavement plates, or just rubble tossed to such baskets - love it all. Their T-62M looks like it was patched with pieces of steel. :D
Your modelling skills are just out of this world by far, never cease to amaze. Looking forward to seeing how you're going to tackle those bricks and sandbags :D

OMG I've been waiting a video like this since I saw that T-72 in a picture from a magazine or something and now it's finally happening😱 the hype intensifies
I built this kit, but as a serbian tank from the Yugoslav wars. One shitty thing I noticed after checking out a ton of reference pictures is that the cupolas on the turret are actually from a T-54 or very early T-55, which I mean... Is quite bad. Either way, its a good kit, and your build looks simply amazing. Cant wait for the next part.
Finally back at home and can watch this video. Was painful to wait to get back and not to watch on phone with broken screen. The details just don't pop up that well when there are tens of cracks on it :)
Love this already. It's probably too late to say this but I think if you made the rebar cage removable and glued the sandbags/bricks in place then you'd be able to take the cage off to paint the sandbags and bricks more easily.
I got my first model today surprisingly it was the T-55 Lindenburge line I got everything from your beginners video 😁 hopefully it turns great and also I watched your weathering tips and tricks vid and I learned so much 😉
12:46 "after all, my intention was to keep it fun and simple" yes very simple

And the super sleek front hull, makes it look like a sports car 😁
