  • My friends, let's build the prettiest tank destroyer ever made! And it's going to be a thing of beauty - magnificent kit from Meng, excellent Masterclub metal tracks, Voyager photo etch set, life-like figures from Panzer Art, and some resin stowage!

You can get surface mount solder/flux combined paste in a syringe on ebay. Fit a dispensing needle to the syringe & you can lay in a very neat bead of solder. Solder it with a small gas solder pencil/torch & you get the neatest joints possible. The torch means you don't get the comntact solder spikes like with the solder bolt. Plumbing for modellers lol.
Thanks for taking the time to make these vids. There are many good modellers on TH-cam but none better than yourself. Hope the leg is healing well.

I think your cluttering is pretty accurate. Something to remember when building model tanks is WHAT tank you're building. TD's or tank destroyers were never built for long deployments away from some form of base/supply depot, they didn't have much room for ammo storage and were VERY fragile to enemy fire if someone got in behind or beside them, so they tended to be more ambush based. So the heavy additions like AT rockets, lots of tarps and plenty of MG ammo all makes sense as these weren't tigers or panthers that were out fighting tank to tank, they were often within cityscapes covering choke points with heavy infantry support so there'd be a lot of reason for them to be carrying lots of ammo and rockets, tarps to hide the tank/obscure its shape and even to build small shelters if they were outside city limits. Jerrycans were also a big part of the WWII German army equipment as they were known to steal fuel from enemy vehicles especially late war where Germany was running out of fuel. It actually got many tanks scuttled for this very problem.
The one thing I kinda hate but understand is your mixed use of Jerry cans and the older triangle fuel cans which by WWII were almost entirely phased out of use by the army. It's likely some townsfolk still had these and it was taken by the soldiers for fuel siphoning but it is a little annoying to see it used on such a late war tank. Just a personal gripe no real shade

The storage cans in the back held wooden blocks to hammer into the adjusting block to allow proper tension of the tracks. The Germans only made storage intended for a specific purpose. They never made anything for general storage. All ammo was stored inside the tank. Specifically inside their compartments or in the ready rack.
