Hey uncle, can you try to build a kit from a “gift kit”, the ones with everything included and just use what us in the kit? I feel like it would be funny to see how someone good at modelling deals with beginner things
It’s was a treat to get the notification that you’re building the BMR as I am close to finishing my Trumpeter T-72B1 I’ve been working on and off for almost 2 years super excited to see how amazing this will come out. A great inspiration and thank you for sharing your knowledge, Martin 😀
15:04 >"why are there four cables?" two provide current to either electromagnet- the other two provide voltage to the electric or hydraulic motors that raise and lower the roller so they can be lifted up off the ground when not in use.
This is a very challenging model to build. 1300 parts, with all of the tiny surfaces, curves, and corners create an interesting building experience. This reminds me of putting a 10000 piece puzzle together.
Sometimes I think I really want to get into model making. Then I watch one of these videos and realize a certain kind of masochistic madness is required
I loved the tracks on the Meng BMPT kit. If you cut the main track parts with a scalpel at the correct angle there is almost no cleanup required. Same for the central guide horn parts. The outer parts are rubber and have their sprue gates on the inside, so cleanup is pretty much no visual factor at all. For an injection molded kit this is pretty amazing.
I just stumbled across your channel and I'm loving it. I mostly do Warhammer miniatures but there are so many little tips and tricks to pick up and you do a really good job of explaining things. Keep up the good work, my dude!
just wanted to say something nice because i think you deserve way more subscribers than you currently have. your videos are amazing and they genuinely make my day.
What an impressive looking model. Not just the part count, but visually that thing put together is so cool. I think it's all that reactive armor, and a lot of the wires and cabling. Can't wait to see the next episode with the paint!
Really impressive moodel! Those extra added details really make it a work of art. Can you tell us a bit about how the kit supplied tracks go together? Can't wait to see this painted.
I still can't get over the joke you made about the metal barrel for the Jagdtiger. Also, I started doing cast textures on 1/72 T-55s using Mr. Surfacer 500. Not quite as intense but it is great for how little effort goes into prepping the stuff. I love your channel.
Very nice model, Uncle. Modern mines can be laid by hand, or scattered from cluster bombs. They can be pressure sensitive, sound sensitive or magnetic sensitive (proximity sensors). They can also be set to detonate randomly, or to switch off for a while when a nearby mine detonates, all to demoralise an enemy who will be too frightened to clear them manually, hence the mine clearance tanks. This particular tank looks as though it can clear pressure mines using the rollers, and plough up mines between the rollers. It can possibly detonate mines remotely using magnetic fields or noise generators, but a major issue would be shaped-charge, directional mines, hence the ERA additions to the hull. It may use the MG for remote deflagration of bombs and mines. It may even have defences against top-down attack from parachute mines that can optically target vehicles by spinning around as they drop.
i just want to thank TH-cam for providing me with another video to watch while im eating that has nothing to do with my interest, encouraging me to do this, and providing me a false hope that i can do this hobby one day.
To save you a little research time i can tell you any vehicle like this that has a welded together body is going to have multiple pass welds so you can just go ahead with your texturing method. Great video 👍
I've already fiinished the construction, after this video I found some detail to be improved, so... disassamble some parts, texture, and lets start again before painting, thanks!!!
Good luck with this. I built it last year and the mine-roller rig nearly broke my will to live. I recommend the RFM Assault Breacher vehicle after this to see which one causes the most stress!
I am building a Leopard 2 A7+ from Meng, and the tracks themselves demoralized me to the point I stopped working on them. I might just glue the visible pieces on. Good kit, but for $80 it’s kinda worth it, I guess, love your videos and I learn a lot from them!
I got hold of some of the VMS debonder a couple of weeks ago and it worked amazingly! The last debonder i had just used to turn both the plastic surface and the debonder glue to a goo like mush and would cause more problems than it was worth. This VMS one is well worth buying
Drive sprocket interconnects with the outer growsers/track pin connections; while the wheels ride along the flat two inner lanes. Bet you should of kept the wider stance.
What scale do you do most of your dioramas in? Do you have guides or notes that you use for determining sizes of buildings and scenery features in the diorama?
Your look at 0:30 is relatable :D I looked the same when I opened the box of the RFM Tiger with full interior. The amount of parts just kicked me in the head like a horse :D Looking forward to what you will do with this beast! Cheers
and yet again my favorite modeler is doing a great job, always when i fade away from it, because its now more than a year ago sience i was blazing away at modeling again, once i watch this, i always get that "itch" again. thank u ! u have such a nice karakter, u always tell it in a intresting way, to the point and with some jokes occasionaly. i think some of the cables going to and from the mine rollers/plow are hydraulic lines as it looks to have a couple of hydraulic pistons which would make sense, those things are insanely powerful and can lift a lot of weight, like you might find in mine rollers
Meng does put out some real monster kits! I've their M1 Assault Breecher in my stash along with their T-90, Panzerhaubitze & M2A3 Bradley. Great job, Martin! Can't wait to see next week's video!

So have a miniart t54-1 to do, the tracks are not workable. Was wondering about just drilling and adding pins. Saw the wire you used, what kind of wire was this, where dobyou get such a thing and what size is it. it would be perfect for my idea.
Fantastic kit, amazing build with some small but important details added! Great work, Martin 👍 Btw, would prefer a multi-colored camouflage, instead of a single color scheme.

Hmm , Chipping , you need a piece of scrap styrene , diluted white glue and silver leaf , not foil
paint a light coat of glue on the styrene , allow to dry until tacky , then lay the leaf on top , Don't worry
about the wrinkles , with your bare index finger start tapping the leaf , you will notice tiny flakes build up

You need to experiment tapping the leaf to make smaller or larger flakes as desired ,

after you have chipped you can do a light burnish to seat the flakes ,

yeah, either that or pneumatic

ideal for winter lockdown, especially when it has 1000+ parts

I think that if that "tank" was kitbashed with a turret, it could look like a modern KV-1 due to that hull design.
