    That was THE best instructional video I've ever watched. In just 4 minutes I learned exactly what to do and I'm doing it right now. No opinion. No look at how clever I am. Just straight forward instruction. Bloomin' marvelous. Thank you.

      Darn I forgot to say how clever I was? Next time I guess.

    I've found the video very useful because this is one of many different projects that I plan on doing. Overall, great quality on the video!

    Thanks for the great video I have wanted to make one of these types of signs for a long time. Now I have a cnc and know how to make them it's not an issue

    Good video, would have been fun to see the finished sign.
    Well done, thank you.

      Yeah I did this strictly to show what could be done and didn't end up making the sign. I'm enjoying making content even if I haven't gotten to it in a couple weeks. Hoping to do a few 'design to done' type projects going through the whole process.

    Wow, you are like a Jedi Master Level 7,498 when it comes to Carbide Create. I now feel like an infant! On a serious note, thank you, SUPER BIG help as I just got my Shapeoko up and running and am new to CNC.

    Good video as I'm looking for a less complex engraving/milling software. Can a conical tool be raised on the tail on some text to bring the V groove to a point?

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! The operation is normally called vcarving

    Any recommended settings for the 8th inch endmill on this? Man, with my current settings I'm at over 11 hours for both the back and the front...YIKES!!!! please let me have the wrong settings. Any suggestions would be "very much" appreciated lol

    Cool video explaining the effect. Now that it has been created, is it super simple to go back in and change the name, for another client?

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not as the Boolean operations don’t update if you change the text.

    I know it’s been a couple years since you made this. How do you prevent the second tool path from wasting 2 hours trying to cut out the already pocketed material (only cut the large letters)?

    • @mwevre1876
      @mwevre1876 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Create a rectangle slightly larger than the bottom text, and do the pocket between the top text and that smaller rectangle.

    When I select the first name and the outer edge to create the second pocket it total deletes the last name. What am I doing wrong?

      me too! Could someone answer? Using carbide create build 520 and it looks different.

    I'm wanting to make a circular sign using carbide create but am having trouble getting the text to conform to the circle.

      At the moment there's no great way to do this in CC. I'd recommend downloading Inkscape (free) if you don't have another vector drawing program already. You can do your designs there, save as SVG, and import into CC. The drawing tools in dedicated vector drawing programs are improved a lot over CC.

    I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but I'm trying to get a word to merge with a line and it keeps cutting off half the word when I select Union. Is this not possible? TIA

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unions in cc can only create a single resulting shape I believe. Are the letters which are lost ones that aren’t connected to the rest?

    • @dionicia12
      @dionicia12 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@see-n-c6606 It was splitting the words in half. I found a work around through your video.

    Can you tell me what bit you used to carve this.

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t end up carving it. Some of the detail right require a 1/8” endmill. In another video I show how you could setup a larger 1/4” endmill to clear some of the open area.

    My total cutting time is over 27hrs.... is this right? It cant possibly take that much time. I've used all the recommend settings.

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My recommended settings or Carbide3D's? Theirs are super conservative. I have a follow up video where I go over some specific feeds and speeds and other techniques for speeding this up.

    How do you delete something on the project? When I make a mistake I can't get it deleted I use a Mac.

    • @see-n-c6606
      @see-n-c6606  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sort of depends on what you're deleting. Pressing delete once you've selected a shape from the design tab should delete a shape in the design. To delete toolpaths you may need to shift+click or option+click the toolpath in the bar on the left.
