If you have access to Disney+ you should watch The Imagineering story. It’s a six part documentary that goes through the evolution of Imagineering from its inception to modern times and while they don’t dedicate a whole episode to her, they do go into more detail explaining all the little motors in her face to make the realistic movements, I highly recommend it. I hope that they create an entire series where each episode is dedicated to one specific project and follow it from concept to fully realized creation.
But I want to see SO much more of how it works, how the engineers made it, and what troubles came with making such a complicated BEAST of a robot. Glad we got a little look at the robotics, but I’d love to see the process more in-depth!
Oh to be a Na'vi shaman animatronic who exists just to loop a lively song about a Goddess for all of eternity. Honestly sounds better than a lot of human jobs.
@@Chestnutcowolder disney animatronics used hydraulics to move! Eventually they switched to electric animatronics which are able to move a lot more fluently
This animatronic is amazing, but I just wish they hid the mechanics better. When she raises her arms, you can see metal underneath when you're on the ride! It kills me every time!
It moves to smoothly and realistically! 😍😍😍 I like how they went for the traditional eyes and face not the new projected ones If i lived near there i would go on the ride just to see it!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Can we just appreciate that these engineers get pretty helmets with their names on them, as well as Mickey Mouse stickers, as part of their official gear? Just the small things lol.
Camkasal they have recently changed that scene of the pirates ride because feminists didn’t like that they were selling women so they changed it to that
*is literally about to cry* I love Avatar so much and I love animatronics and robots. I also just finished watching Detroit: Become Human and can't wait for androids and animatronics like these to become autonomous.
Wow!! This animatronic is amazing!!! But let me share my thought or a suggestion... Wouldn't it be much better if they could use more "lighter/softer" materials rather than the aluminium or metal?... Lets say (just an example) to use plastic, foam or many other softer materials... On the mechanisms... This could help with more natural freedom on the movements of the animatronic character.
Those materials are too soft. They wouldn't hold up for the duration of time this animatronic operates during the day. It would fall apart way too easy. Rips and tears as well.
It was nice but waited so long and a river journey was just ok. I let it go as the flight was so good, and the area was lovely to stay in. This will be the “its a small world” if its not at least added to, to make it a little more interesting, Its got 1-2 effects areas. The rest is sounds and light only, i heard people asking “what are we watching”, then we get the shamen, and pass it to get out. Please add more to it Disney xx Love you and come every year but compared to Flight or soaring, its pretty poor x
Floridafanatic28 where did you get that number? I’m not saying that it’s right or wrong, it’s just that Disney doesn’t usually release the cost of individual aspects of rides.
And it’s the only animatronic through out the whole ride. Disney you should of use the money for other animatronics on the ride. It’s like the whole island is desserted in the ride.
Give this animatronic a big gpu, cpu and an AI chip to run on, it will think and do things differently what the simple mechanics was already installed to do.
I recently lost my Grandfather who my siblings and I lived with. It has broken all of our hearts and the only thing that my siblings talk about now is happier times when we visited DisneyWorld. I know that none of us are sick and that is not something we take for granted however I could not afford this on my own. I would love to have something for them to look forward to. My brother has learning difficulties and my sister is struggling socially in school now that Grandad is gone. This would transform both theirs and my lives as a trip to Disney I think would boost our morale as it has been something we have loved so much in the past. Thank you! www.gofundme.com/help-me-bring-my-siblings-to-disney
Sync it doesn’t bother me for the short time you see them on the ride but like the idea of being trapped on the ride with them really freaks me out. Or if one on pirates of the Caribbean broke and fell into the boat I’d shit myself
I could watch an entire documentary on this animatronic. What an amazing job.
Straight Outta Alderaan It would be fun to watch it made from idea to finished product. Bet they ran into lots of issues.
Was literally JUST about to comment that. Get Disney on the horn and tell em to get that done XD

Me too
When I first saw this, I was convinced it was a cast member - it took wayyy too long for me to realize it was an animatronic. PHENOMENAL WORK
It soo good right!?
Yeah
When I first went on the ride, I had no idea the animatronic was going to be at the end, and I was so scared because I thought it was a real person.
Same, I had trouble distinguishing if it was a person or an animatronic
From the footage I’ve seen, it really is an incredible animatronic. Massive props to everyone involved.
But I want to see SO much more of how it works, how the engineers made it, and what troubles came with making such a complicated BEAST of a robot. Glad we got a little look at the robotics, but I’d love to see the process more in-depth!
yea me too
Shaman: What is my purpose?
Imagineer: Sing this song on an endless loop all day.
Shaman: Ma Ewah!
Oh to be a Na'vi shaman animatronic who exists just to loop a lively song about a Goddess for all of eternity.
Honestly sounds better than a lot of human jobs.
Better than passing butter though
“If i sung the same songs for twenty years and I never got a bath, I’d be a bit irritable at night too.”
- Phone Guy, FNaF 1.
Disney making sure to get plenty of footage of it moving (unlike the Yeti, cough!)
Hahahah
And they made it so they can easily remove her from the ride to do repairs so we don’t get a disco Shaman.
@@srayj The first time I went on that ride was when it first launched and wooow that yeti arm lunging down was engrained in my brain *forever.*
I saw her live for the first time this year. I’m obsessed with Avatar…I SOBBED
I really have to see this in person
XPeriense It’s truly incredible! Went to Pandora last summer!
ICEBERG7423 im going in the winter time so i cant wait!
It’s crazy how life like it is.
@@i2iDisney You thought it was crazy 2 years ago? What about now?
This thing was crazy to watch upclose on the ride.
My favorite thing about this animatronic is the fact that it’s electric. It’s amazing how this technology has progressed.
Yeah?
As opposed to what 😭
@@Chestnutcowolder disney animatronics used hydraulics to move! Eventually they switched to electric animatronics which are able to move a lot more fluently
She’s so beautiful I almost cried when I saw her
Wow. This is legit Disney magic! How can they make that look so great?!
This animatronic is amazing, but I just wish they hid the mechanics better. When she raises her arms, you can see metal underneath when you're on the ride! It kills me every time!
I can't wait to go back. Disney has the best animatronics that I've seen and it just keeps getting better.
It moves to smoothly and realistically! 😍😍😍
I like how they went for the traditional eyes and face not the new projected ones
If i lived near there i would go on the ride just to see it!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
i showed a track loop of her to many of my friends and every single of them thought she was a real person at first
Walt would be proud.
Disney is too good in making these animatronics, i have heard it's REALLY hard to catch THIS animatronic malfunctioning, great work!
We caved & bought Lightning Lane for this ride in October. (Bring back Fastpass!) This animatronic was absolutely incredible!
If they are able to make this,
*I can make Bonnie.*
Bonnie would probably fare better being designer similar to Creative Engineering's Rock A Fire animatronics, as opposed to an audio animatronic.
The people behind this need a raise, *NOW*
I saw it in real life, it completely transfixed me. It’s amazing.
Can we just appreciate that these engineers get pretty helmets with their names on them, as well as Mickey Mouse stickers, as part of their official gear? Just the small things lol.
Which park’s auctioneer is that at 1:01?? Maybe it’s just been a while since I’ve been on pirates, but I don’t remember it looking that cartoony
Magic Kingdom - Walt Disney World
Camkasal they have recently changed that scene of the pirates ride because feminists didn’t like that they were selling women so they changed it to that
Not quite but nice attempt at trying to spin what was done to fit a certain agenda.
Jennifer Bureau that was just what I was told but thank you for clearing that up
Lilly Lilly I'm pretty sure they decided that selling people is pretty dark subject matter for a children's theme park ride.
The Shaman looks so realistic I can’t wait to visit Disney World again we thank Walt Disney for his creativity in animatronics 😃
Andrew Fontanez it all started with a mouse and for now ends with a banshee.
i NEED i HAVE to see this in person
I could watch this forever
Are the animatronics in the Star Wars attractions gonna be this level? I hope so..
I have seen enough Westworld to see where this is going....
Dr Vagax
Detroit: Become Reliquished
AMAZING!! ✨
I just talked to one of the guys that worked on her and its just so interesting
I need these guys for my idea
Beautiful 💫 💚❤️💙💛
Great video!
What attraction is that at 1:01 after It’s A Small World and before Pirates of the Caribbean?
American adventure epcot
The franchise is owned by Disney via 20th Century Studios since 2019, the sequel will be coming soon next December.
I used to think animatronics were scary, But this one is alright.
Now imagine if they audio danced Freddy he'd be walkim Smoot now
*is literally about to cry* I love Avatar so much and I love animatronics and robots.
I also just finished watching Detroit: Become Human and can't wait for androids and animatronics like these to become autonomous.
Once they do, *get redy 4 fredy*
These are two very different things, this is a glorified puppet show. Preprogrammed movements.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AVATAR!!

eurossocial those materials would not impact its movement

Wow! That's incredible!
If it were to pick up objects that would be even more amazing
WOW! That's amazing!
I love it ❤
Disney+ lets get the story and creation of them
The “Walt Disney imagineering” in the engineers title was cheeky 😁
i like that tanner has a hat that says “tanner”
Everything goes well till a new animatronic inventor called William Afton joins the team
Wow, amazing

and where are Dr.Ford and Arnold ?
Ugh, this makes me feel even worse that I ran out of time to go on this ride.
Last time I saw this it was under maintenance and I didn’t see her move she was just frozen lol. I have still not seen her move in person
Can't wait for the bite of 2055
It's a shame she got taken down and replaced with a screen
A simple question. How much did it cost ?
More than my house probably
It cost Disney ten million dollars to create this animatronic (not an exaggeration, this is how much it cost).
Floridafanatic28 where did you get that number? I’m not saying that it’s right or wrong, it’s just that Disney doesn’t usually release the cost of individual aspects of rides.
Oel ngati kameie, Mo'at!
I love the movie Avatar I cannot wait to get on the ride😙💙🎵🎶🔮🍃🍂🍁🌿🌱🙌🏿👏🏿💖
Good job Disney😊
Eu acho que me daria um pouco de medo se eu fosse na disney e visse esse boneco rsrsrsrs..! Mais adoraria ver

Disney*?!
Although nice, they took it down. I was on the ride last week, they just had a projection.
You've got to be kidding. I really wanna see it

These guys can create this creature that God had never create like these types of things yet in this world.
Even humans are gods
This is what cute system so much talented in it animals kingdom
I'm still waiting for a _Lion King_ ride.
I want to be a imagineir
Maybe I'm wrong but... isn't this the one that keeps breaking down, causing the ride to close frequently?

Her name is navi 😐 I wonder where they got that name from 😑
They need to get these things making fast food in California. $20 an hour they will soon pay for themselves.
Imagine if Disney make fnaf animatronic
Give her an AI brain like Sophia

Woah haha. Farts!
Cheyenne Boucher farts?

The voice on her is very annoying. They need to make it sound less like a toad.
