This was so helpful thank you. The only question I have is after you kickstart the bike how do you stop it. Like if you are just revving it or you decide you don’t want to go.
@mollysheahan So, there are two brakes. Right hand lever controls front brakes, and right foot lever controls rear brakes, as mentioned in video briefly. Holding in the left hand clutch lever disengages the clutch, so you won’t move on level ground.regardless of motor rpm or “revving.” Also, inbetween 1st and 2nd gear is neutral. In neutral, the clutch is also disengaged.

I’m thinking of getting a dirt bike but I really don’t want to have to shift like a car where you go from 1-6 or whatever when you gain speed. So is it like an ATV where you choose a gear and go or do you have to shift like a car?
Generally on any gas bike above 110cc, you'll have to shift up and down. You can install a rekluse clutch that allows for no clutch use, but you're still shifting with your foot. The new electric bikes are the only fully automatic options that you don't have to shift at all.

Thank you for the awesome tips and awesome job explaining, I'll watch a step 4-5 times and soak it in and get more out of it each time. Started on quads so these tips and tricks are helping me make the cross over, sadly i went from a honda trx450 to a honda crf450 after not riding a dirt scooter for half decade (Husky 430 isnt good for learning)

0:45 Brandon's First Motocross Race will always be legendary.
The clutch is important makes sure you holding it like he said I let go of mine before and my bike went in the air 😂
Avanta Twyman so the clutch basically should stay in at all times
@@patricktuite6465no not when your riding ,unless your shifting
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Luckily these sorts of training and help are always good to refresh and and retry yes. It is critically always important. Thank you and making it fun was even better. New subscriber!
i am 54(female) just started learning to ride a dirt bike.I have been driving a manual car for many years but just cant get this throttle/clutch control at low speed on the bike, its really frustrating me as I eventually want go trail riding with hubby but if I cant get this ,all I will do is stall it every 5 minutes..I have had my bike about 3 months and have got the gear changing ,steering and speed fine..Standing I am not quite confident to do that yet, I am only 5ft2 and not very strong..I have a kawasaki 125 KLX, 4 stroke
Are you taking about when you start the bike moving from a complete stop?
Just keep practicing! It’ll come. Work that ‘sweet spot’ of your clutch like it shows in the video. Some aspects of dirt biking you’ll nail right away, some skills will take longer to perfect. Just keep at it, it’s so worth it in the end 👍🏼
no,,I can take off fine.It when i try to do slow full lock practice,,instead of feathering the clutch I keep giving it more throttle or stall it. dont have the guts to stand and do them yet
charmaine woods is
The Mx Factory really
Thanks bro it's good to know the safety of the bike
My first time riding a clutch bike (barely have any experience still) I got on my friends Suzuki ninja 600 and dumped the clutch , the bike stood up and I was running with it in my hands trying to jump back on😂😂
Omg that girl crashed into a bougainvillea

Do you have to engage the clutch when going from 1st-2nd? or 2nd-3rd n so on or just when going into first gear?
