I learnt how to ride a motorcycle (not a dirtbike) when I was a little girl. Then 40 years passed and I decided to try dirt biking (Honda CRF 230). It's been amazing! yet I have so much to learn. These videos have helped me enormously. Such little details make such great difference. The explanation and the images makes it so easy to understand. Good job!

I grew up on dirt bikes but have been riding street bikes (supersports) for most of my adult life. I just recently got back on a dirt bike (03 CR250R). Body position when corning is the exact opposite from one to the other. Same with braking. I came really close to washing out the front wheel numerous times from grabbing a handful of front brakes on my dirtbike.

As a father of a young rider still learning myself. It seems to me there are actually 3 riding positions.
    1. sitting
    2. standing
    3. hovering
I don't think 3 is talked about enough. And I think it's where most riders struggle. It looks like they are sitting but they actually have their butt off the seat slightly. In this case you have a lot more than a slight knee bend but you are technically standing up. This is the position where I see a lot guys get rounded backs or their knees start getting ahead of their ankles. Or they get their arms extended and their heads too far back leading them to be pulled.

Never learned how to ride a bike, thinking of buying a motocross like a 125 2t or a 250 4t,we have plenty of dirt roads where i live, perfect for dirt bikes,i seriously want to know if its a bad idea or not to learn on those,my father who used to drive bikes until a few years ago and since he was 13-14(Scooters,dirt bikes, sport bikes 700cc-1000cc etc) told me that i should get a smaller older one,a scooter bike thats going to be cheap, learn the fundementals on that one and then buy a dirt bike, thats just to be safe obviously,he told me that im going to fall alot at first and that shouldnt be on a motocross.Keep in mind that im not going to have any gear at first, other than a helmet that is.Pretty much my question is if its ideal to learn how to ride with a motocross on dirt roads, idc if i get scratched or an injury thats not that serious,i am a little concerned though because if i fracture/break a leg bone, 1. I seriously cant have a bike which i will have to wait for months to get back on, 2. My life becomes boring because i wont be able to go out and do things as much.I know the smarter choice is to get a smaller bike but im actually not dumb and wont attempt stupid things straight away,so i really cant decide, give me some advise if possible.
