It's birch plywood. It's a great way to modify a cheap belt sander to be able to grind plunge lines, but do not use wood because wood doesn't stay flat. Nowadays I use steel from the same saw blade I made this knife from and I glued some wood on to the steel to make it thick enough.
Could you please put your camera back to auto exposure or even put in better lighting , i know tou wanted more cinematic shots but some of the clips are just too dark to see easily, thanks Eoin

At 1:39, what was that bolster you set behind your grinding belt? Is it just wood or something else?
