Allen, the timing of this for me of you making this video is absolutely amazing. I've been a sola scriptura Christian for about 3 years and within the last week these supposed missionaries have been talking to me and at first I thought. This is amazing I was looking for a new church to attend and really thought this was something that was meant to be I gave them my phone number and they hadn't brought up the book of Mormonism until recently and I attended the church the other day and these Church Elders have been trying to get me baptized and after doing more research I was realizing this things about how non-Christian the book or Mormon is and I was thinking all day today about how I was gonna mention it to them and I finally did that today after listening to this whole thing. It's purely amazing that you posted this today.

Hi Allen, I'm a Latter-day Saint. I wanted to let you know that you made a great many factual errors in this video and greatly misrepresented Mormonism and the Church of Jesus Christ. I would love to talk with you and clear these things up. There are also a great many Latter-day Saint scholars and TH-camrs who would love to come on your show and collaborate to make a video accurately portraying our beliefs that's constructive rather than destructive. I know for a fact that Ward Radio, Thoughtful Faith, and Robert Boylan would accept the offer in a heartbeat.

@@Eric_Rebron You should know that most of the stuff said about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in this video is wildly incorrect. Rather than blindly trust what you hear on the internet from apologists and antagonists, where misinformation runs loose. I would encourage you to have your own experience. Read the Book of Mormon and see for yourself how Christian it is. Pray to God for guidance as you seek truth with love and charity.
      James 1:5, 16-21

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls."
      Proverb 18:13, 17

@@nute742 with Christian’s we believe in the trinity.. we believe that Jesus, the father and the Holy Spirit are all 3 persons in 1 being.. this may be blasphemy to say but think about in those cartoons where 3 kids jump on each others shoulders and make them selfs into one figure, or think about did disorder.. basically they have personalities with different responsibilities and they are all in one body
Mormons don’t believe in the trinity, they believe Jesus was made or he was archangel micheal, and I’ve heard that you guys don’t read the Bible as much as you do the Book of Mormon.. that’s usually the book Mormons want to hand out, and not the Bible! Then you believe athiests just go into a black void when the Bible teaches those who don’t follow God go to hell, and those who put their faith in Christ go to heaven.
Not to mention John 10:30 which says “I and the father are one” and Jesus was speaking John 1:1-5 talks about Jesus being in the beginning and if you look at the word Elohim I believe it’s plural in genesis 1, then in also in genesis 2 it says “let’s create man in OUR image” but Adam and Eve don’t address their being any other Gods besides 1 being.. therefor the trinity..

    • @BookWarden
      @BookWarden 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I would say that we have a pretty good focus on Jesus Christ. Here is my favorite verse from the "satanic" Book of Mormon for emphasis:
      Mosiah 4:11 -
And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
We are NOTHING without God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. We should always remember that. This is one of the reasons why this is my favorite verse. You're actually kind of right on this point. We ALL need to remember how merciful God is to us, when even our best works are as filthy rags before him. His Grace is EVERY bit the way we make it to heaven.

Mormons believe that their feelings are the Holy Ghost. If you say something that makes them uncomfortable, they think it's the Spirit testifying that what you are saying is wrong. I appreciate you pointing out the greatest of all commandments. “LOVE”. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have endured almost 200 years of the non-stop hatred, persecution, lies, conspiracy theories, mocking and the like. Jesus prophesied that because he was first hated and persecuted the same will be done unto his servants and his church. All his original 12 apostles were mocked, persecuted and the majority was killed all because they were preaching the gospel that the Jews would not accept as they cling to only the laws of Moses and felt they have everything and didn’t need any other teachings. Heck, they even called Jesus, the devil.
Fast forward to these last days and the same exact thing is happening. Many of God’s prophecy is being fulfilled. These last days the deceived, the naysayers, evil doers will call good, bad and bad, good. Y’all are the ones that are spiritually blind because the devil whispers into y’all ears with his mountain of lies and y’all run with it without ever going to God with a sincere heart, mind and soul and ask him where to find his only church that he created and gave his power and authority to 12 men he ordained.
Satan is so threatened by the true church that is lead and guided by Jesus, that the hatred and persecution is never ending. It’s worse now with the technology of the World Wide Web/the internet and social media. The man made false churches y’all flock to, but The Church of Jesus Christ that teaches the full gospel is the one that y’all love to spread lies about, misrepresent and take much out of context that y’all don’t understand and some of the same parts we have a common ground on is never spoken about. You see how cunning and crafty the devil is!!!.
When I read the Holy Bible (KJV), I recognize and understand correctly so much more that is only taught in The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints because all the other churches are man made and they do not have the power and authority from God and this church is the only one that is God made. There is only 1 Lord, 1 Faith and 1 Baptism. To put in context the reality there’s actually only 2 churches. The church of the devil which is the Catholic Church and all the Protestant churches that evolve from them. The other church is The Church of Jesus Christ.
Here’s some research y’all can do. The entire Bible mentions christian(s) only 3 times, but yet y’all are like ravishing wolves as the gate keepers. Lol. Did y’all not know it was unbelievers, nay sayers that used that christian(s) to mock, ridiculed and was originally used as a derogatory term to those who believe in Christ, but we all have adopted it. How ironic and interesting that y’all are unbelievers within our belief context and were the ones from the Protestant/evangelical community so many years ago mocked us and label us as “mormons”. Unfortunately in my opinion, we mistakenly accepted that label for a time, although we have identified ourselves as followers of Christ thereby we are more Christians than the ravishing wolves of gate keepers who are making false judgements as to who is a Christian or not. The Church have formerly, several years ago, denounced the use and acceptance of the label of “mormons”, “mormon church” and “mormonism”. Furthermore, as part of the name of Jesus Church we are Latter-day Saints, not “mormons. Mormon was an ancient Prophet and historian and he played a significant role in preserving and protecting the scriptures of God’s dealings with his other sheep.
That being said, if you really study God’s words in the Holy Bible, the Prophet and Apostles consistently referred to the church members in their revelations and in written epistles was “Saints”. The word Saint(s) are found in the Holy Bible about 100 times right down to the last book of the Holy Bible which is Revelation.
So while y’all want to be the ravishing wolves of gate keepers for the word “Christian” which was used as a mocker, we will still identify ourselves as followers of Jesus Christ and his true last day Saints that he speaks of that will be his elect.

I come from a long lineage of Mormons. Left when I was 19 and they expected me to serve a mission. I never felt like it was truth. My brother followed suit as did my best friend (his parents think I’m the devil). I didn’t believe we could be Gods. And the real tipping point was learning about the temple endowment ceremonies. They show a film of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and after they partake of the fruit Satan tells them to cover their bodies with fig leaves. They pause the film and instruct the group of about 20 people to stand and put on their green fig leaf aprons on top of the white temple clothes. They are literally holding a ceremony to show contrition to Satan. Nobody questions it, they just obey. Then they move on to a blood oath. God believes in growth through free will. Satan believes in forced contrition. Most churches operate as control mechanisms which makes me believe they are Satan’s greatest deception. Lead people astray while convincing them they are holy. Contradictions in Mormon scripture vs biblical scripture are lazily explained away as “incorrect interpretations”. Bible teaches we are saved by the grace of God. Nothing more, nothing less. The Mormons believe we are all going to heaven, but that our “works” determine which kingdom of heaven (3 levels of heaven) we end up in. The top level of course is reserved for Mormons that did their temple work. They get mansions in the “Celestial Kingdom” with streets paved in gold and granted the power to create worlds and be gods themselves. A very materialistic idea of heaven. Quite the opposite of what I envision heaven to be.

You are so surrounded by demonic entities that you are blind to see it. It’s so obvious when y’all fall into satan’s trap not knowing the scriptures but bearing false witness of sound doctrine. I don’t want you to continue to suffer in darkness so let me minister unto you as it’s the Christlike thing to do. Here a few scriptures that God have repeatedly told us we are little gods, not the Almighty God. Know the difference and stop letting the devil deceive you. You won’t like the outcome in the end. Reject the devil and he will flee.
PSALM 82: 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
DANIEL 2: 47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.”
1 Corinthians 8: 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Our church didn’t invent what the scriptures already revealed. Pay attention to the upper case “G” (only 1 God) and the lower case “g”(gods many). Never should you speak of what you don’t understand and condemn and blaspheme on what is of God.
God will continue to reveal things to his true ordained servants. Don’t be like the Pharisees who reject things they never understood. They mocked and crucified Jesus based on their unbelief. Their mainstream beliefs and tradition rested on the Law of Moses only. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was new to them and they called Jesus the devil because they were astonished as to his preachings. I would encourage you to seek your own personal revelation through prayer and even fasting to God. Ask and ye shall receive. Don’t jeopardize your own salvation leaning unto your own understanding. Praying for you. 🙏🏽 REPENT

    INCORRECT:
6:38: President Hinckley(the living prophet at the time) is referring to the concept of Christ that has been developed in the centuries since the Nicene Creed was formed-He is saying that we do not believe in non-Biblical creeds. This statement is quite correct: Latter-day Saints do not have some of the same “beliefs” about Christ that other Christian churches do. He IS NOT saying that we do not believe in the Biblical Christ. In fact, the reason that Latter-day Saints do not accept these creeds is because they are non-Biblical. President Hinckley continued (with words ALWAYS omitted by critics):
“Am I Christian? Of course I am. I believe in Christ. I talk of Christ. I pray through Christ. I'm trying to follow Him and live His gospel in my life.”
There’s too many half truths shared here. Read the Book of Mormon and Bible fully and see if it’s all that’s it’s cracked up to be. It’s not replace the Bible. It’s a record of people who lived in ancient America who knew of Christ and they share their revelations and experiences of what they witnesses. Just another testament to prove that Jesus is the son of God. And back up the words of the holy Bible.
It’s very interesting to hear a conversation about “Mormons” from people who aren’t Mormon lol it’s like asking a white guy what is the experience of being a black man. Or someone who is Islam explaining what Christians truly believe in. Go to the source, not a 3rd party lol
Members of the church aren’t on the offensive making content going after other denominations, but we sure could. Being Christlike I guess is relative to some. Hopefully this helps some one out there

It’s the trap of satan to have you deny and condemn things of God that you lack any spiritual understanding in at all. Because of your spiritual blindness, satan operates so well to lead the masses astray with carnal mindsets such as yours. Reject him and he will flee. You bear false witness against God. Don’t jeopardize your own Salvation because you seeing things through the eyes of flesh and not the spirit.
2Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”KJV
      2 TIMOTHY 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” KJV
1 TIMOTHY 4: 1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” KJV

The canard of Latter-day Saint chapels being ‘marked’ with crosses, has absolutely nothing to do with the church but is rather a tool used by the mapping companies to demonstrate the location of a church building,
using a symbol that is familiar to most people who are searching.

Talk to an actual member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to find out the truth about us, instead of getting bigoted false information from anti-Mormon pastors. You also didn't learn from this video how to bring the Gospel and engage Latter-day Saints. These video has done great harm by driving Latter-day Saints away and further proving that hateful, self-righteous people cannot be trusted to be our friends.

The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done. -Joseph Smith, 1842

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I’ve never once in my life been told we are not Christians by any leader in any capacity.
Notice how Pastor Bryan doesn’t finish the quote he’s referring to. President Gordon B. Hinckley, responding to a question regarding whether Latter-day Saints believe in the “traditional Christ,” stated:
No I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the dispensation of the fullness of times”.
President Hinckley is referring to the concept of Christ that has developed in the centuries since the Nicene Creed was formed. He is saying that we do not believe in non-Biblical creeds. This statement is quite correct: Latter-day Saints do not have some of the same beliefs about Christ that other Christian churches do. He is not saying that we do not believe in the Biblical Christ. In fact, the reason that Latter-day Saints do not accept these creeds is because they are non-Biblical.
President Hinckley continued (with words usually omitted by critics):
Am I Christian? Of course I am. I believe in Christ. I talk of Christ. I pray through Christ. I'm trying to follow Him and live His gospel in my life.
President Hinckley was quite clear in his position regarding Christ:
“Are we Christians? Of course we are Christians. We believe in Christ. We worship Christ. We take upon ourselves in solemn covenant His holy name. The Church to which we belong carries His name. He is our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer through whom came the great Atonement with salvation and eternal life”.
These clowns know this is a lie and yet continue to be disingenuous. I don’t think they’re Christian. “For they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me”.
This is what “Mormons”, “LDS” and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints actually believe.
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
These are some of my favorite Bible versus as we believe in the Old and New Testament.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believes thou this?
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. During His earthly ministry, Jesus taught His gospel and established His Church. Jesus called twelve Apostles and gave them authority to lead His Church. At the end of His life, Jesus atoned for our sins by His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. After Jesus’s death, He was resurrected. Because of Jesus’s atoning sacrifice, we can be forgiven and cleansed of our sins. This brings us peace and makes it possible for us to return to God’s presence and receive a fulness of joy. Because of Jesus, and only Jesus, we overcome physical and spiritual death.
To answer Allen’s question, this is what we believe and what he does for us.
Now time for everyone to tell me I’m in a “cult”.

Pastor Bryan, your statement is misleading at 6:00. The prophet would never say he is not a Christian. Unfortunately, you came up with that conclusion by trying to interpret something different from what was actually said. Gordon B. Hinckley is one of the kindest, wisest, and loving individuals I have ever learned from. Christ's restored gospel is once again on the earth. I invite all to find this out themselves by taking faith to explore the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ taught from the message of the Book of Mormon and asking God, not man, not your pastor, not your neighbor, not even your friend who may be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but to ask God. Understanding how God answers, what he will answer, how he communicates to us in different ways will help us recognize the answer to that prayer. There are so many voices out there that distract us, that deceive us, that cause many to miss the mark however through the power of the Holy Ghost we may know the truth of all things.

God has told me what the true, original gospel is. It's in I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Christ has already done the one work that was necessary to reconcile us to God when he shed his blood on the cross, died, and rose again. Like the thief on the cross, all anyone needs to do is repent of their sins and put their faith in what Jesus Christ has already done for them. ✝️ 💕
Jesus Christ never required anyone to believe the Book of Mormon is true, join a church, tithe, go through a worthiness interview, earn forgiveness, get a temple recommend,go through an Endowment Ceremony, learn secret grips, tokens, signs, handshakes, and passwords, do temple work, wear temple garments, etc..
      You can trust Jesus. 🕊

It has taken me several days to listen to this all the way through, due to busyness on my part. I am from an area of California with a high Mormon population (not nearly as high as Utah, but pretty high). All my life, it was understood that Mormonism was a different religion than Christianity. Then, in the late 90's, when I was in community college, I had a lot of Mormon classmates and professors, and they all claimed to be Christian, and it totally confused me (I had come from a Christian high school, and later went to a Bible college) . That time at community college was my only "secular" education, and the indoctrination into Mormonism was the biggest culture shock--a lot more than the liberal or worldly stuff in the system. I was familiar with a lot of the info in this video, but it was still really interesting, and good reminders. Great presentation.

    MORMON’S IMPOSSIBLE GOSPEL
    Moroni 10:32
“IF you deny yourselves of ALL ungodliness… THEN is his grace sufficient for you.”
Did you notice the IF / THEN statement?
    That’s a conditional statement.
So - how much ungodliness do you need to get rid of? Some? Most of? 60%?
Moroni 10:32 states you need to deny “ALL” ungodliness.
What are you if you get rid of ALL ungodliness?
    Perfect.
Now, we know it’s impossible to be perfect without grace - and yet, according to this scripture grace doesn’t start until AFTER you are perfect.
This means grace is unattainable for Mormons.
    -
The Book of Mormon has other passages which support this:
    2 Nephi 25:23
“We are saved by grace, AFTER all we can do.”
When do you get the grace?
Have you done all that you can do?
Have you ever had 1 day in your whole life where you did all you could do?
You couldn’t have prayed another minute?
So - can anyone ever be saved???
    -
Mormon scripture is consistent about this:
    Alma 11:37
“And I say unto you again, that he cannot save them in their sins. For I cannot deny his word, and ye have said no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven. Therefore how can you be saved except you enter the kingdom of heaven?
Therefore you cannot be saved in your sins.”
That’s like saying you’ve got to get out of the water before I’m going to save you from drowning.
    The Christian Jesus isn’t a swimming coach - He’s a lifeguard.
If they say, “it just means do your best” - no:
    First Nephi 3:7
“And it came to pass that I nee-phi said unto my father , “I will go and do the things which the Lord has commanded. For I know that the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commanded them.””
Is it possible for the Mormon god to give you a command you can’t keep?
Did he tell you to deny yourself of ALL ungodliness?
Did he tell you to do all you can do?
Did he tell you you can’t be saved in your sins?
If they say, I’m doing the best I can - then ask - does it say Do the best you can?
So - can anyone be saved?
Read the whole chapter of Alma 34.
Which says you have to have repented of ALL sin before you die, otherwise you will be sealed to Satan.
    AND:
    a reminder:
    Moroni 10:32
“IF you deny yourselves of ALL ungodliness… THEN is his grace sufficient for you.”
    This is confirmed by:
    Doctrines and Covenants 82:7
“And now, verily I say unto you, I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; BUT UNTO THAT SOUL WHO SINNETH SHALL THE FORMER SINS RETURN, saith the Lord your God.”
    Doctrines and Covenants 82:9-10
“I give unto you directions how you may act before me, that it may turn to you for your salvation. I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; BUT WHEN YE DO NOT WHAT I SAY, YE HAVE NO PROMISE.“
Under those conditions - who can be saved???
    ---------
    Moroni 10:32
“IF you deny yourselves of ALL ungodliness… THEN is his grace sufficient for you.”
    2 Nephi 25:23
“We are saved by grace, AFTER all we can do.”
    -----------
    Also:
"Trying is not sufficient. Nor is repentance complete when one merely tries to abandon sin,"
Spencer Kimball 12th President of LDS Church), The Miracle of Forgiveness, p150
The book just quoted, ‘THE MIRACLE OF FORGIVENESS,’ by Spencer Kimball (12th President and Prophet of the LDS Church) is approved and recommended by multiple LDS leaders:
Ezra Taft Benson (13th President of LDS Church) urged all church members "to read and reread President Spencer Kimball's book."
    (from ‘In His Steps’ 1988).
LDS Church apostle Richard G. Scott called ‘The Miracle of Forgiveness’ a "masterly work" (‘Peace of Conscience and Peace of Mind, 2004) and “a superb guide.” (Finding Forgiveness, 1995).

Matt 5:48 We can only be perfect through the Savior & we can only deny ungodliness through him as well. It is two different ways of saying the same thing. Only the Savior was perfect, he would not ask us to do something that can not be done in Matt 5:48. "With God all things are possible." Matt 19

      @@Rodney_tubeviewHello there friend,
I’m afraid you have completely misunderstood the sermon on the Mount.
That’s not necessarily your fault, there are bad translations, and also you could have been lead into the wrong understanding by bad teachers.
      When Jesus said:
“Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭48‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬
He was NOT saying you must be perfect, and must obey perfectly.
In short, what the sermon on the Mount is actually saying is: God’s standard is far too high, and is sinful humans can never reach it - but thankfully there is a way to God through Jesus. In Matthew 5:48 Jesus is talking about what will happen in the future, not saying we have to obey perfectly to be saved.
“For by one offering He has PERFECTED for all time those who are sanctified.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NASB2020‬
That’s why the New Testament is full of statements like these:
“For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:28‬ ‭
“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.”
      Romans 11:6
“For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God- NOT BY WORKS”
      Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast.”
      ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
If I give you a gift, do you have to do anything after that to have it?
      ----
The Mormon Gospel is a different Gospel to the one given in the New Testament.
The Mormon Gospel is a works based gospel - and, as I showed in my first comment, according to Mormon scriptures, you don’t get ANY grace until AFTER you have rid yourself perfectly of all sin and performed various works.
I could literally quote dozens and dozens of New Testament verses which categorically contradict the Mormon works based (earn your own salvation) Gospel:
“But to the one who does NOT work, but believes in Him who justifies the UNGODLY, his faith is credited as righteousness,”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4:5‬
“But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy,”
      ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” (of obedience or by your life of obedience, which is it?)
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭
“For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭

Jesus is clearly NOT giving an order/instruction - no, He is giving a prediction of what He is going to do for us.

"For by ONE offering He has **PERFECTED** for all time those who are sanctified."
      Hebrews 10:14
By you saying you perfect yourself, or help to perfect yourself, you are DENYING Jesus' ONE offering is good enough. You are denying Christ and saying you don't want His offering applied to you.
"For as through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the ONE the many will be made righteous."
      Romans 5:19
Humans don't make themselves righteous: Jesus (the ONE) does that for us!
Sinful humans CAN'T do anything to prefect themselves - anything we try to do to save ourselves UNCLEAN to God:
Isaiah 64:6 says our righteous deeds are FILTHY UNCLEAN RAGS to God
In Philippians 3:8 the Apostle Paul said he counted all of his righteousness before he knew Christ as UNCLEAN DUNG/EXCREMENT.
There is no 'good work' you can do BEFORE you are saved.
Any good work you try to do may appear good to you, but to God it is UNCLEAN and unacceptable.
      -----------------------
Side note: even if you take other translations of Matthew 5:48, they still don't mean what you say it means:
"But you are to be perfect, even as your Father is perfect."
      Matthew 5:48 NLT
That can still be interpreted as a prediction of what is going to happen for us.
"You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
      Matthew 5:48 ESV
That can still be interpreted as, for example, a parent telling their child "You must have a school uniform to go to school - so therefore I will buy you one and provide you with one."
      --------------------------
Your comment suggests you think this interpretation of the sermon on the mount is strange or unique to me. I think as a Mormon you have just been sheltered in your Mormon 'bubble' and haven't heard the widely held Christian understanding.
This is the interpretation widely taught/understood by most Christians - even in different denominations - for example Dr. Michael Brown (a Charismatic) teaches this, and so did R C Sproul (who was Reformed).
      -------------------
About the book of James - I love the book of James.
I will send you another comment about James (because this comment is already very long).
The book of James completely supports everything I have told you.
You have a huge self0defeating problem because if your interpretation of James was true, it would mean there are hundreds of contradictions in the New Testament because the rest of the New Testament repeatedly clearly states salvation is NOT BY WORKS.
But I have no problem because James doesn't contradict anything in the New Testament - and I'm afraid, just as you misunderstand the Sermon on the Mount, you also hugely misunderstand James.

You should know that's sensationalized fake news. Those cases have nothing to do with the church. There are more Latter-day Saints than Jews (17 million), just by pure random chance some of them are going to end up being criminals. When you actually look at demographic data, Latter-day Saints are the happiest, most well adjusted, most generous, and least criminally inclined of all christian groups.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches against murder and abuse in all forms, you are never less of a disciple of Christ than when you are abusing your fellow children of God. To quote the Book of Mormon "When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God."

I just gotta say this, though, there have been many atrocious acts done by many of ppl from all religions, theists and secular. Get off your high horse; by your comment I can tell you feel yourself to be superiorin your beliefs. There are good and bad ppl in all things, all walks of life. As a whole most "Mormons" I know are highly rational, kind and generous beings. One thing I have always known about them is that they do believe in Jesus Christ (I always heard more about Christ than I did of Joseph Smith), and I have always thought of them as Christian cause that is what I was raised to know them as. They have a strong sense of family and service, and that is admirable.
This is a horrid thing on the right and now I see "Christians," you all have to be right and better than the others... what matter in the end is our relationship with Christ, thats what I understand.
Only thing I really remember of Joseph Smith was that he was trying to find out which Christian chirch was the "true" church, a question that resonates with me for sure... there are so many and what are the differences. Hmm.

Unbelievers are judged by their works.
The works of the LDS church consist of:
Idolatry- the worship of an exalted man from another planet that had to work his way to Godhood, lives near a star named Kolob, practices polygamy, is the literal father of Jesus Christ, damns people who deny the eternal principle of polygamy (D&C 132), and threatened to destroy Emma if she didn't abide by her husband's adultery. (D&C 132:54, 64)
Blasphemy - Mocking Jesus Christ and saying that Christ is a created being the brother of Satan. Mocking God the Father and saying he practices polygamy and one of his wives is your mother in the pre-existence.
Lying - Christ requires 10% of your income, a worthiness interview, confession of sins to a bishop, a temple recommend, an Endowment Ceremony, put on Lucifer's power and priesthoods, learn secret grips, tokens, signs, handshakes, and passwords, make a blood oath, get married, do temple work, etc.

Hi, Latter-Day Saint here. I can explain what we believe about that. We believe that Jesus and Satan are both our brothers, and that we all lived with God before we came to Earth. God told us about His plan for us to come to Earth to gain physical bodies and experience. Satan tried to usurp Jesus Christ’s role in the plan, was denied, and rebelled against God. He chose to reject God while in His very presence, committing the unforgivable sin. There is no repentance from that. He is damned eternally based on his own choices.
And for angels, we do believe that they are people in a different state of existence, as when Moses appeared to Christ and the apostles in the Mount of Transfiguration. Normally we consider the word “angel” to be a servant of God who has died and not been resurrected yet, but angel can be used in a broader context to included people who have been resurrected or translated, and sometimes people who weren’t born yet appeared as angels. But they are all people, all children of God the way we are.

@emiliegossage923 Thanks. According to the Bible, God created angels first. Job 38:1-7
Angels are men, do not procreate, and are incorporeal. They are spirits. They are messengers of God.
Satan and his followers sinned once and were immediately sentenced to eternal torment in hell. Jesus Christ never died on the cross for angels/demons. (Some demons sinned so egregiously in the days of Noah that they were immediately imprisoned. I Peter 3:19-20. Jesus declared his victory over them. They never repented.)
      Unlike angels, human beings are made in the image of God. Of course, God the Father is invisible and a spirit. I Timothy 1:17; Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 11:27;
We are made in the image of God in the sense that we can commune with our Creator . We are made in the image of God mentally, morally, and socially.

At around 22:26: Yes, we mormons believe there is god the father, and God the son- 2 very distinct personages- and the Bible proves it. What did Jesus himself say to Mary, at the tomb? "Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my father, and to your father; and to my god, and your god". Proving that we have the very same father of our spirit, as jesus does; and that he worships the very same god that we do- which statement makes us literal brothers and sisters to Jesus, in our spiritual creation, or in our spiritual bodies, when we were first created, in what is known as the pre-existence. What is so hard to understand about that teaching, or displeasing?

Lilteepot: "One of the biggest blasphemies for me is saying God was once a man like us that ascended to godhood." The only problem with that criticism is that we members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not believe that, and are not taught that. I have been a member for 46 years. We members believe we are the Spirit children of our Heavenly Father. Hebrews 12:9 (AKJV) "Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?"
"Jesus and Satan spirit brothers is making Satan equal with Jesus and God." No, it does not! Revelation 12:7 (AKJV) "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Isaiah 14:12 (AKJV) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the amost High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

For some reason, it has become _fashionable_ for members of the Church to think they are defending the Church by going around denying this DOCTRINE. You're really not helping matters by showing yourself to be a deceiver.
And the Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley didn't help matters when he told an interviewer "I don't know that we teach that." When he did know that we _BELIEVE_ that. He was just playing games using his careful wording by saying "teach that."

Subsequent Prophets have all taught us that our goal in life is to live well enough that we can obtain exaltation. We have a unique religion. Be Proud of it.
      Brigham Young taught this
      John Taylor taught this
      Wilford Woodruff taught this
      and on and on
      Summary:
All the Prophets since Joseph Smith have taught this, and it is the meaning of the word "Exaltation." So what if others don't understand. That's their problem. You're not going to convert anyone to the Church by deceiving them into starting out in the church where they will certainly see and hear the word "Exaltation" used.
You should be proud of our beliefs.
There are many beautiful teachings. We should OWN them, and not go around trying to fool people into thinking we are just like them by denying our Doctrines.
For others who are reading this, look up the LDS Hymn "If you Could Hie to Kolob." It's a very beautiful hymn.
And, so what if we believe God was once a man? Eternity is a long, long time. What do you think YOU will be doing for Eternity?
In Mormonism you get to progress Eternally. You get to grow, and learn always. You change and become better and better over time. After a long Eternity of becoming Better and Better and progressing and improving constantly you become good enough to graduate. So you get your own planet. What's wrong with that?

“A full, verbatim account of the speech does not exist, but notes exist, taken contemporaneously, by Thomas Bullock (using a type of personal shorthand), William Clayton (writing in longhand), and Willard Richards (taking "minute"-style notes of major elements of the speech).[3] Wilford Woodruff also took extensive contemporaneous notes and transferred the notes to his journal with editorializations, but his original notes were not preserved.[3] One author (Searle) estimates that the surviving notes of the sermon contain roughly 30% of the words of the actual address, but that together, they are likely nearly topically complete.[4]” [Wikipedia/King Follett discourse/Text]
What did Joseph Smith, Jr. say about the final estate of those who inherited exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom? Doctrine & Covenants 132:20 “Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them.” This is consistent with Biblical teachings. Psalm 82:6 (AKJV) “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” John 10:34 (AKJV) “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” Hebrews 12:9 (AKJV) “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”
“Dallin H. Oaks explains: "Revelations from God ... are not constant. We believe in continuing revelation, not continuous revelation. We are often left to work out problems without the dictation or specific direction of the Spirit."[14] Thus, the current prophet can clarify, correct or change any previous teachings.[15]
However, once a doctrine has been accepted by the church by "common consent", it becomes part of the standard works, and then takes precedence over any other revelation.[16] Members of the LDS church only consider themselves bound by doctrine found in the standard works.[17]” [Wikipedia/Revelation in Mormonism/Inspired vs. infallible.]

This video is just one of thousands, if not more that have exposed the error of many false religions, LDS is but one of those. I believe the following:
Sola scriptura (Latin for 'by scripture alone') is a Christian theological doctrine held by most Protestant Christian denominations. Any other Book does an injustice to Him and those who seek Him. Tradition and what church you attend or building you have services in fall far short of the inspired Holy Bible. There's a difference between inspired
      by God and Man's religion.

In terms of what he says about works, it's important to note that in Christianity salvation isn't achieved by works, it is a free gift of God by faith through grace. But once saved we are called to do good works. One of the biggest passages that points this out is the great commission which says, "go into all the world making disciples of all men, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". Works has its place in Christianity, it's just not something that is required for salvation and forgiveness.

What gives any Christian (or non-Christian) person or denomination the right to apply or deny the label “Christian” to any other denomination? Show me where in the Bible this definition is created or enforced?
In the most basic definition, a Christian is someone who is a follower of Jesus Christ. Following Christ by embodying both the beliefs of the Christian faith by believing in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection (orthodoxy), and also by putting that faith into action as true disciples of Christ (orthopraxy).
Furthermore, the word Christian is used three times in the Bible (Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). In each instance the Greek word Christianos is used, which is defined Biblically as a follower of Christ (2). The word Christ, which is the root of the world Christian, is defined as the Messiah or anointed One, referring to Jesus Christ (3).
I’d say if you’re really following the Bible as truth and right, then Mormons (members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) would clearly fall into the category of Christian based on scripture.
Look in your own hearts, focus on your own salvation rather than attacking others who are only trying to do the same. You don’t ever see Mormons attacking other denominations, or trying to enforce their own made up definition of who can be in the cool kids club.

I see 2 Nephi 25:23 used as proof that we believe in a works based salvation. I think this is wrong.
Before we can understand this passage we need to understand Nephi and his time period. He is of the house of Israel living 600 years before Christ under the law of Moses.
The rest of the chapter after that is all about the law of Moses.
Vs 24 we keep the law of Moses, and look forward with steadfastness unto Christ,
Vs 25 wherefore the law hath become dead unto us, and we are made alive in Christ
Vs 27 Wherefore, we speak concerning the law that our children may know the deadness of the law; and they, by knowing the deadness of the law, may look forward unto that life which is in Christ,
Vs 28 the right way is to believe in Christ and deny him not; for by denying him ye also deny the prophets and the law
Vs 30 inasmuch as it shall be expedient, ye must keep the performances and ordinances of God until the law shall be fulfilled which was given unto Moses.
Therefore it is my understanding that Nephi is saying he and his posterity are saved by Grace after the law of Moses. (The law of Moses is all Nephi can do). He recognizes he is saved by Grace not the law of Moses. Nephi is testifying that his works don’t save him.
I am saved by Jesus’ Grace. He has offered himself a sacrifice for my sin. He has fulfilled the demands of Justice against me for my disobedience. I now want to follow him with my whole heart which includes turning away from all my sin and entering into his covenants which he has restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. It is my desire to follow Jesus that keeps me in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

If that’s all you ever heard from the Bible you would think it teaches works based salvation. Similarly if you only read 2 Nephi 25:23 you will also believe the Book of Mormon teaches a works based salvation.

The gift of the atonement requires us to be one with Christ. IT is obtained by exercising faith, repenting of our sins, making and keeping covenants with god(baptism) and enduring to the end. Repentance is a daily thing even more often as we fall short of the perfect example that Jesus set for us. You are right Grace cannot be worked for however "faith without works is dead" . Simply put works are a result of us exercising our faith. IT is written it simply not enough just to declare belief and do no more. OR to say you repent and continue to do the same sin? God will held us to account for our knowledge and everything we have done or NOT done, we will not be enough and this is where the atonement and the saviour JEsus Christ with his grace and mercy will make up the difference and blot out the mistakes we have repented for . AS it is written if we truly repent he will remember them no more and we will be purified by the atonement.

We have one grand uncle who is a mormon pastor, and one a baptist pastor and no matter how my baptist grand uncle tried to present the true Gospel, it just wasn't accepted by his mormon countepart. It was sad when my granduncle died in his faith.

They say that the Bible goes hand in hand with the Bible so I said since I don’t go by the book of mormon and we have the Bible in common then we can use that. I made them define everything. Their version of God was he was an exalted man. I said the bible says from everlasting to everlasting thou art God, and I the Lord change not, therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed. I made them define everything because in the video the godmakers they said mormons use the same terminology but they define it different.

so you go to learn about a religion by watching "the godmakers" why don't you at least go to their official website to find out what they actually believe?

The problem is, folks not taking the scriptures literally and leaving the audience alone. Tribulation has a purpose and that is to redeem the nation of ISRAEL. Jesus came once as a child in His first coming, He then died, rose again and tells Mary touch me not for i have not yet ascended to my Father. He then Ascends and then returns again where He allows Thomas to put his hands in His hands and side... And He remained here 40 days before ascending again. So too, will He descend to the clouds to take His sheep home .. they will hear His voice and follow Him to meet in the air. He will then take us back to the Fathers House where He went to prepare a place for us. Once all nations gather to the Valley of Jehosaphat to attack His Earthly chosen people, He will descend again and ride back to Earth with the Army of the Church behind Him where He will trample down a great winepress and where the Church will gather up the wheat and tare with Him before setting up a 1000 year millennial Kingdom on this present Earth. 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 tells us flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. This corruption must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality.. this is what is necessary to go to the Fathers House where Jesus currently is, however during the 1000 year millennial Kingdom where Christ will rule as King (Zechariah 12-14) there will be flesh and blood.. they will be born and die. And they will be required to cleanse themselves before entering to gather for the Feast of Tabernacles year after year that they will be required to do.. Ezekiel 38-40. There is a very distinct difference in the scriptures between the rapture and the return. ...
    He IS COMING

There are 3 people groups by the end of it all... The Church, seen in Revelation 5:9-11 (a fulfillment of Prophecy) the resurrected Trib Saint Revelation 20:4 (two people groups in that scripture alone, those on Thrones given authority to judge AND those who are Resurrected) and the wheat and the tare, those trampled down in the winepress and those who live in human form and are left who will enter into a millennial Kingdom... Including the 144k who are all Virgin, Hebrew, Males.
Understanding the timing of the Revelation of Jesus Christ (a revealing of something once hidden) is key to knowing that Paul had no knowledge of the Trumpets In that Book. John wrote Revelation about 25 years AFTER the destruction of Israel by the Romans.
There was a resurrection after Christ Rose from the dead, many came out of their graves and APPEARED unto many. Thus there have been resurrections, the first resurrection in Revelation 20:4 (Again a revealing of things once hidden) is then the first in a new dispensation of time... Namely the Millennial Kingdom, a resurrection we too will preside over

I have been a Mormon for 16 years now, and before, I never really saw anything false, suspicious, or wrong about the teachings of Mormonism, until the Holy Spirit began to do a tremendous and wonderful work in me and through me by revealing the infallible Word Of GOD.
Yes, I have always known the Holy Bible to be the only source of inspiration and revelation, and when I got to study both the Bible and the Book Of Mormon, I saw that the Book Of Mormon does contradict what the Bible says, and recently I feel like the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is not the church built on the rock, being Jesus Christ because the teachings are not in line with the true gospel of Jesus Christ that is in the Bible,
So to Pastor Allen and Pastor Bryan, I am truly thankful for this episode, and I am going to watch the "Unveling Mormonism" podcast because I want to be set free from Mormonism.

      John 10:27-29
My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me,
And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my Father's hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. ❤

8:48 To me the "shift" this guy is talking about it clear.
When many Americans were Christian it needed to be clear how Jesus Christ's church was different than others. Now that many Americans are losing faith in Christ the need is to bring people to Christ and so it's important to let non-believers know we believe in Christ.
I could be wrong but that's my guess.

40:48 we believe the Bible because the Book of Mormon supports it as far as the covenant that God made with Israel and the testimony of the apostles concerning Jesus Christ. From 1 nephi 13:
“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld that they did prosper in the land; and I beheld a book, and it was carried forth among them.
21 And the angel said unto me: Knowest thou the meaning of the book?
22 And I said unto him: I know not.
23 And he said: Behold it proceedeth out of the mouth of a Jew. And I, Nephi, beheld it; and he said unto me: The book that thou beholdest is a record of the Jews, which contains the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; and it also containeth many of the prophecies of the holy prophets; and it is a record like unto the engravings which are upon the plates of brass, save there are not so many; nevertheless, they contain the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; wherefore, they are of great worth unto the Gentiles.”
And again a revelation from God to Joseph Smith in D&C 10:
“52 And now, behold, according to their faith in their prayers will I bring this part of my gospel to the knowledge of my people. Behold, I do not bring it to destroy that which they have received, but to build it up.
53 And for this cause have I said: If this generation harden not their hearts, I will establish my church among them.
54 Now I do not say this to destroy my church, but I say this to build up my church”

Joseph Smith himself quoted from The Bible much more frequently than from The Book of Mormon because he was so familiar with it from his earliest years.
Most Latter-day Saints, like most mainstream Christians are lax in their scripture study, but there has only been a specific focus on The Book of Mormon since the leadership of President Ezra Taft Benson, who called church members to repentance for their far too casual study of The Book of Mormon.
