Anglican here. If you have true faith, you will have good works to accompany that faith and those works will testify about that faith much in the same way a tree's fruit testifies about it.
Yes that’s true. I’m not saying you disagree, because I don’t know, but just to expand on it here. The fruit bears witness to the activity and health of the tree. There also may be good reason to think the tree isn’t doing well or isn’t a fruit bearing tree based on its ability to produce fruit, as “we shall know then by their fruit”. But the RCC view is that the fruit is an offering of atonement that is given, not a sign of the healthy tree. It’s not so much “works must flow from healthy faith”, but more so “if works flow from true faith then works must have a part in salvation” rather than a side effect or symptom of salvation.
@@stever4181 Hi I’m sorry I didn’t make it clear haha, I definitely agree with you. I’m just explaining what the RCC believe! Christ’s work alone saves, not ours 🙏
@@ok7091 No problem and no reason to appoligise. I have been familiar with the CC for many years. I was married to a Catholic. Their masses were nothing but repetition and cold. I was never Catholic and never will be. Before we were married the priest came to her and said, If you leave the CC, God will forget about you. Such are the additional abuses the CC and priests set upon unknowing people. Blessings to you.
I used to be Protestant. I even went to a year of seminary. I was thinking of becoming an Episcopal Priest. I am 68 years old now, and I have been married for 45 years. Both my wife and I are Catholic Christians. We trust in Jesus for our Salvation. I think your talk was very sincere but misinformed. Unfortunately it is difficult for a non-Catholic to appreciate the blessings a Christian can receive within the Catholic Church. Still I am confident that the Lord will bless you.
It's because, the symbol of bread and wine when taken in communion must be done with a pure heart having nothing against anyone, obviously those sick did not.
It's also crazy when they ignore John 6 verses 56 to 67. Jesus clarified the second time that He was talking about His actual body and some disciples left Him because of it. If it was a symbol, why did they leave?
@@chinezenwosu1345 You are demonstrating a lack of knowledge of the Bible. I bet you never read anything in the OT. It was against levitical law not to eat human flesh or drink killed blood. That is what they were taught. They took him literally and left. Jesus would not nor could not go against that teaching yet the CC states he did. It remains a symbol and if you took the time to read John 6 in its entirety you would see this, but you do not and only read what you want and listen to deception instead of searching and understanding scriptures.
I left Protestantism after 20 years and converted to Catholicism last year. I’m the only Catholic in my entire family -and I love my evangelical friends and fam- but the Church feels like home 🇻🇦
Eternal Security is false: 1. Jesus says branches are “cut off”, meaning that they were once part of the vine, or saved, but no longer. You cannot be “cut off”, unless you were once part of the vine. 2. Peter calls them “dogs returning to their own v-m-t 3. The New Testament warns us over and over again to be careful and avoid sin. 4. Paul himself was unsure of his salvation until right before his death. He “won the race, persevered” 5. Paul says certain Christians had “fallen from grace” 6. Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord”, will enter heaven 7. Verses saying that nothing in creation can separate us from God all refer to external things, like planets or angels. This doesn’t mean that one cannot seperate themselves from God, or end the engagement themselves, or later come back and be rectified. How do you even know if you were truly saved, in this viewpoint? You don’t even have the sureness you think you do. It’s unjust to allow for evil sins, and not lose salvation.

The Catholic apologist, Trent Horn, just released a rebuttal to this video. Crushed every single misconception, every point put forward by Alan. Utterly crushed it.
@@DavidTextle he already has in a number of rebuttals with Gavin on the face of them. Just look up Trent Horn/Gavin Ortlund on Icon Veneration. I think Gavin crushed it in his own personal response according to his personal beliefs, but of course there is his personal beliefs and what the Church actually teaches on Icon Veneration. They tend to butt heads with that and Gavin struggles to really formulate that. He'll suggest that icon Veneration leaves people "open to false practices", whatever that means. Trent will affirm that it entirely is based on intention, and under the proper Catholics intention the Veneration of icons is entirely appropriate and practiced by the early church. It's quite indisputable.
Allan Parr is low hanging fruit for Trent; but I'm glad he did the rebuttal anyway. It seems Allan is after the clickbait $$$$$ because his regular stuff about his own false theology doesn't draw people like making anti-catholic videos. Show his character.
Alan. I found this video because Trent Horn of the Counsel of Trent rebutted you. Would you be willing to have a dialogue or debate with Trent? You seemed well-meaning but greatly misinformed on Catholic teaching, and I would suspect that this is because you haven’t talked to many informed Catholics about what you brought up. For instance, your understanding of the Catholic views of the effects of praying for the dead and Salvation are just flat out incorrect. Many of your criticisms of Transubstantiation are either inaccurate or just don’t hold water. I obviously disagree with this entire video, but you have a better understanding of some things than others
I was told by my Catholic mom when I was 6 years old that in order to go to Heaven, I need to do the “sacraments”, “corporal works of mercy” and other good works because we will be asked what have we done here on earth. Then she asked me what have I done yet. I couldn’t answer her. I felt doomed at a young age! I was afraid I might die and won’t enter Heaven. But 9 years after (age 17), I was saved by grace through faith in Jesus and left the Catholic cult
My wife and most of her family members are Catholics and even those that are not Catholics, believe in the doctrines. When I first married my wife I didn't understand many of their doctrines, BUT, thank YOU JESUS for opening my eyes to this FALSE DOCTRINE. I am Not a Catholic and NEVER was. I got SAVED in the Pentecostal church (COGIC), where I learned more of the Gospel. Right now it's VERY hard to speak to them of the TRUTH, because they DON'T want to hear it. I've sent them text messages of what Scripture says, but I know they read them and they DON'T acknowledge to even speak about it. My CONTINUOUS prayer is that GOD will deliver them from BONDAGE and be BORN-AGAIN and SAVED. The seed has been planted and I believe it will be watered according to GOD'S Will. Asking for PRAYERS for them from ALL my Brothers and Sisters in CHRIST!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 BLESSINGS!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Here's a difference of definitions matters. Catholics, Orthodox and really the entire Church for 1600 years viewed salvation as a process(do a Greek study of the words saved and salvation). The overall process of saved, justified, sanctified and glorified fit under Salvation. Only during the last 500 years did it become Salvation as a single moment
Sacraments are not works of mercy but rather the spiritual manifesting in the realest connection with God; that is baptism, marriage, communion, confession. It’s something transcendent and necessary. Remember: faith without works is dead. The sacraments is definitely mot a free pass to heaven.
I'm catholic and just discovering my faith, Saints are venerated, God is worshipped, the issue with most protestants is that they venerate God so when Catholics venerate saints it looks like worship to them. Asking for intercession is not praying to them it's still praying to God. "Prayers for the dead", is not about changing God's mind about someone's salvation it's about having hope that someone you love might be in God's presence, also the prayers doesn't 'promote' the soul from purgatory to heaven, all souls in purgatory goes to heaven, no sin can enter heaven it's a cleansing process before one goes to the holy presence of God, just like entering the tabernacle in Moses' time. The doctrine of Transubstantiation is not found on the last supper but elsewhere although in the eucharist we participate in it, Jesus said “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” the people started to walk away saying "how can this man give us his flesh to eat?" As They were walking away he doubles down saying my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink he didn't correct what they had understood him saying but doubles down on it. He then turned to Peter and asked "are you going to walk too?" Peter just said "You offer eternal life where else would we go" Jesus died for all sins, Mortal sins are just sins that are greater that others in the context of its severity, it just means needing repentance over since it's mostly tied to how you live your life and how you worship God or not. and again it does not get them in purgatory, all souls in purgatory are saved, judgement has been made upon them and since no sin or impurities can enter heaven thus the cleansing, Christ's salvific sacrifice is offered freely but We don't have the license to do what we want expecting to still be saved. And it's NOT only through the sacraments we are going to forgiven, Jesus will save who he wants to save, the sacraments are tied to him but. He's not tied to it. Dying in a state of mortal sin is a person dying in their sins knowingly and rejecting God's offer of grace, saying "im a christian" to look good in the eyes of their neighbors but live their lives away from Jesus. "Grace through works" means we are participating in Jesus' work, we can't earn our way into heaven no one goes to the father but through Jesus, but the grace offered is something that we need to act upon, we receive it, we live it, faith is not something that is static, human hearts are very easily swayed specially in times of testing. If you're given an apple do you just leave it on the table to rot or are you going to eat it with delight and appreciation. In confession, the priest is acting on Jesus' authority to forgive. And we are not just priests, all baptized people are called to be apostles. And true that Jesus is the only mediator that's why his authority can do these.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia defines veneration as “a religious act, an act of WORSHIP.” Worship belongs to Almighty God alone, Not any image or Saint. (Matthew 4:10) If worshipping an image was necessary, Jesus would have said so!
@@sunnyjohnson992 I only follow the scriptures and the cathecism not an online encyclopedia. Worship involves sacrifice of oneself to live a life of dedication and devotion to give your whole life to God clearly catholics do not do that with the saints
Sunny Johnson, worship used to mean honor, or praise. People used to cal kings “his worshipfulness.” Adoration meant what we mean by the use of the term worship, today. Now, worship means Adoration, and Adoration means something more akin to what worship used to mean. But you’ll see Catholic sources still using the old definitions of the words.
With charity I say the following on the topics you touched which I disagree with: The saints are "sleeping" as is described by the Bible of those who died while in the faith. They await the day of the Lord's coming, as we do. Thus, we cannot ask them to pray on our behalf, or intercede. An example of this is Saul trying to get Samuel back to get him to entreat God to guarantee success over his enemies. This was viewed as witchcraft and idolatry before Christ came in the flesh, and it still is viewed as witchcraft and idolatry. No matter how we wish to spin it. We do not communicate with the dead, and the dead do not communicate with us. The Lord does not permit it. There is no place such as purgatory. Unless you consider that purgatory is the moment of rest at our death, when we await the coming of the Lord, when all shall be raised, both dead and living, and those who are considered righteous would then receive a new body, as described by Paul. If not, then purgatory does not exist. And there are not sins that a person can be cleansed of in death. The cleansing happens as we live. Consider what David said when he ended his fast for his son with Bathsheba, after he died [2 Samuel 12:22-23]: “While the baby was still alive, I fasted, and I cried. I thought, ‘Who knows? Maybe the Lord will feel sorry for me and let the baby live.' But now that the baby is dead, why should I fast? I can’t bring him back to life. Someday I will go to him, but he cannot come back to me.” While we are living, we are called to hope in Him for our life, but if we die in sin, we are separated from Him. Being that I've claimed there is no place as purgatory above, I wish to add that in God's eye, all sins are offensive and worthy of death. There is not a single sin that receives a light tap on the wrist. This is an example of how our understanding is not to be leant on, for we categorize good and evil in tiers, and assign various levels of punishment to them. But the Lord has but one punishment for evil/sin: death. And the only way to escape said punishment, is through repentance, and acceptance of the Lord's discipline in this life. For once we pass away, there is no making up for our sins.
What? You trust the current Pope, who is teaching near heresies? Don't forget, he is a man, a sinner, who can easily make mistakes just like the rest of us. The ungodly night clubs within the Vatican City are disgusting enough to turn most away, when they know what goes on there. So yes, there is no infallible authority outside of the Scriptures. Everything else is corrupted by sin.
Here is a trustworthy statement; A Catholic will always accept man's explanation of scripture instead of understanding what God is saying in that scripture.
Pastor Parr, I am an ex-Catholic and an ex-nun. I agree with all of these and I would add the dogma of the immaculate conception of Mary. It lessens the power of the cross and elevates Mary to an almost goddess status.
Maureen you are a miracle of God. I knew growing up Nuns , but never one that left. I did know a very high official in the Vatican that escaped. You read it right escaped back in the 80s and was under there threats after because he was a born again Christian exposing the inner workings of the Vatican. The Vatican is evil in itself.
If anybody wants the truth about the Catholic Church watch Trent Horn , or Father Mike Schmitz , or Bishop Barron , X Catholics are the most uneducated about Catholics because of being poorly taught for 35 years after Vatican 2 there was miscommunication after Vatican 2 , how do I know this , I use to be one of them I was a part of the poorly Catholic educated we were not taught about the faith or the Bible in class it was read at Mass but kids are not going to take the time to learn that , but then as a adult I took the time to read the Bible and the catechism hand and hand and realize they match up with no errors , A X Catholic does not understand Catholic language, Baptisms and Confirmation is when Catholics are born into Christ and confirm to follow Jesus, Catholics are saved grace by the Blood of Jesus on the cross , he paid for our sins , NO we’re in the catechism does it say Catholics are saved by works. , X Catholics only had bad teachings one day a week even Catholic schools were bad , if someone wants Catholic truth they need to listen to Trent Horn or Bishop Barron or Father Mike , today Catholics have Bible studies and better education , I’m not here to have people switch churches but i will state inaccurate Catholic statements (like we’re not Christians) we are., I’m saved by Jesus blood on the cross and communion is Holy and sacred because of this verse -John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. , Catholics follow the Nicene Creed - Baptism John 3:5 - “Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Matthew 28:19 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Confirmation Luke 24:49 - “But stay you in the city of Jerusalem till you be endued with power from on high.” The Eucharist John 6:54 - “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you.” Sacrament of Penance [Confession] Psalm 41:4 - “Heal, O Lord, my soul, for I have sinned against Thee.” John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’” Anointing of the Sick [Extrem Unction] James 5:14-15 - “Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Matrimony Matthew 19:4-6 - “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Holy Orders Matthew 10:1 - Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”
If you read the catechism it is forbidden to worship anyone but God worship for Catholics is sacrifice only for God at Mass Let me state this , it is Jesus who assumed his mom to heaven, it was Jesus that made his mom sinless , it was Jesus that Made her the mother of the church , Mary did nothing on her own Jesus made her just like the ark of the covenant, I think Protestants get confused and think Mary did all this on her own and this is not the case Jesus new before Mary was born what he had planned for her like the ark John 13:20 - Jesus says, “he who receives anyone who I send, receives Me.” He who receives the apostles, receives Christ Himself. He who rejects the apostles and their successors, rejects Christ. Mary was sinless because God can’t dwell with sin per the Bible
Catholics are Christian stop it we are saved by Jesus we made the Bible with the Orthodox that’s history Even Luther believed in Mary being blessed and ever virgin and that communion is not just a symbol and in baptismal regeneration
Grew up Protestant, converted to the Catholic Church about 9 years ago now. Here's my response to the first objection you raised: In Catholic theology, the Church is the Body of Christ. It is made up of the baptized who have been adopted into Christ. There is only one body of Christ. The Church on earth is the same Church as the Church in heaven. Saints in heaven are not "dead", they are more alive than we are now because they are face to face with God. So just as I may ask members of the Church on Earth to pray for me, I can certainly ask for members of the Church in heaven to pray for me as well. We're all in the Body of Christ. The argument that once a Christian dies and is with God he/she has absolutely no knowledge of people on Earth seems extremely odd and counter to the entire mission of Christ ---which is to save humankind from our sins and bring us into His divine life. Reason alone would seem to suggest that, until the end of this world, the saints in heaven would probably delight in praying for those of us on Earth still running the race. I think your interpretation of Hebrews 11 and 12 is way off the mark. The imagery is clearly of the Earthly Church running a race in a stadium and the saints of the past in the stands cheering us on. A plain reading of the text paints that picture. This "museum" interpretation is completely read into the text. There is absolutely no "museum" imagery in the text at all. Secondly, if you look at the verb tenses, it is clear that those who are in the "hall of faith" are presently surrounding us. Furthermore, museums didn't exist when Hebrews was written, but coliseums and olympic games did. Lastly, I don't think races occur in museums, do you? In the Rich Man and Lazarus parable, the rich man still has knowledge of what's going on on Earth. At the very least, he has knowledge of his family and five brothers are still in danger of internal condemnation. In 2 Maccabees 12, which was in the Bible until the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, there is an episode in which the Jewish army surveys the battlefield after combat with the Greeks and discovers that some of their fallen soldiers have pagan medallions underneath their clothing. They immediately stop and offer prayers for them (even though they are dead). Even if you don't accept this book as part of the Canon, it shows that prior to the rise of Christianity, the Jews practiced praying for the dead. A tradition that would continue in early Christianity. As early as 200 AD, there are inscriptions in the Catacombs asking various Saints for their prayers. The practice of asking for a Saint's intercession goes back to the very beginning of Christianity. It would be hard to imagine that within the first 100 years of the early Church such a heretical doctrine would become the norm. Finally, in 1 Corinthians 15:29, St. Paul makes reference to an early Christian practice of Baptizing someone for the dead. He does not condemn this practice, but for whatever reason the practice didn't continue for very long. Never the less, this brief mention shows that even St. Paul believed that we can do things on earth that effect those who have passed away to the next life. If you're a Catholic....do research. Our Church was founded by Christ 2000 years ago. There are extremely good reasons for all Catholic teaching. All of it is backed by Scripture, history, reason, and the Tradition passed down by the Church Fathers and great theologians of the Church.
I have no problem if people who are Catholic. However, many teachings that Catholics teach simply do not extend back to the early church as they claim. For example, transubstantiation was clearly NOT taught by several early church fathers and none of them held this view. However, I am okay if Christians want to believe in transubstantiation if they want as long as they don’t force me to believe in that to be a Christian.
Dont confuse Roman Catholic Church with the 1st Church. Roman Catholic Mixes Paganism with Christianity. Christmas, easter = Paganism. If you come to Scandinavia you will understand what I'm talking about. before christianity came along we were already celebrating those dates that the Roman Catholic church mixed with Christiamity and fooled ppl to think they were celebrating Christianity and not paganism. Roman Catholic is pure paganism. As Romans were not able to defeat Christianity they combined it with paganism. Seek truth and you will find it.
@@truthseeker9692 The celebration of Easter goes back to the first century. The Catholic Church converted the entire pagan world to Christianity within the first 300 years of its existence. I'm not sure what your argument is.
InspiringPhilosophy debunked the pagan holiday claims. It was originally an Easter hare, not a rabbit. Eggs developed out of peasants eating them after Lent. The gods that you claim Easter is named after stopped being worshipped way before the name changed. The other possibility is Eoster, but the only reference to this goddess comes from St Bede, and most historians think he was mistaken. Easter was originally called “Pascha”, but was later changed due to the German month Easter was on, Eastermonath. As for Christmas, it’s not pagan, hopefully you got the point with Easter. The Catholic Church is the original Church. You can find Catholic teachings way before Constantine, and even the Apostolic Fatherz, men who knew the Apostles, wrote about Catholic doctrines
27:33 I have quite literally committed all of those sins in my past, I am so thankful for Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, without Jesus, there is no forgiveness of sin, I was the worst of the worst and Jesus found me in my brokenness, no one is too far gone to be saved, Jesus saves.
Imagine a gay baby murd3r3r trying to tell others about their salvation lol, commit them again and do not repent if you think those nasty godless acts are so harmless because Christ died for your sins.
Also no Catholicism is not witchcraft, the witchcraft folk appropriate and steal from Catholicism because it is the true church with true influence and is 2000 years old.

During the liturgy of the word part of the mass we have the first reading from the old testament followed by the psalms then next is a reading from the new testament followed by the Gospel reading. If you go to a Catholic mass actually listen to the prayers that are said there and you will get to see how scriptual and biblical the mass actually is.
even more biblical than catholic or protestant churches (and this will sound revolutionary to you, I'm sure), is the church operating as one body, void of the rifts we build amongst ourselves, born from departures from Scripture on all sides. Looking down on each other, rather than seeking to understand and/or correct one another unto the truth of Christ, is more harmful than helpful. Christ prayed that we may all be one, as He and the Father are one.
It’s all depends on what church you go to. Christians should be united. Allan only pointed out the truth. To say you are better than others is NOT biblical at all.

Alan Parr obviously is part of a very low church Protestant denomination. 500 years and still no Protestant catechism. So who is to say what Protestants believe? Every time a Protestant has argued with me against the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist he has said that Jesus meant only symbolic and not real presence.

[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [5] thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; [6] and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Luke 1:46-55 KJV [46] And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. [48] For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: For, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. [49] For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is his name. [50] And his mercy is on them that fear him From generation to generation. [51] He hath shewed strength with his arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. [52] He hath put down the mighty from their seats, And exalted them of low degree. [53] He hath filled the hungry with good things; And the rich he hath sent empty away. [54] He hath holpen his servant Israel, In remembrance of his mercy; [55] As he spake to our fathers, To Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
Brother Allen, I will echo many here and suggest you do a follow-up video in tandem with a well-credentialed Catholic (and maybe one who was formerly Protestant) such as Jimmy Akin, Keith Nester, or Dr. Scott Hahn. I have been a life long Protestant (42 years) and come from a very devout Baptist family, but for the past 6 months I have been wrestling with many “distortions” I was taught about Catholics from my Pastors and other knowledgeable Protestants, who though well-meaning, lacked the theological grounding to make a true and full comparison.
@danielohara415 he said he is making a suggestion to Par. He didn't say he couldn't do what he wanted. What is wrong with him having a discussion with an actual Catholic theologian?
Allen, please greatly consider doing a dialogue or formal debate with Trent Horn on these teachings to help you understand what you got wrong and to help you better understand the Catholic Christian Faith. Trent is very charitable and knowledgeable about Catholicism.
@stever4181 nah I found myself more catholic after going to Baptist College and studying scriptures more. Catholicism is deeply based on in second temple judiasm. And a lot of about Greek and logic of the gospels. Lot of people call DR. Micheal Heiser a Baptist ph.d a gateway because he really does show things like how the deutrocanon and Enoch is used in new testiment.

Justin Martyr wrote before 165ad the description of how early christians worshiped and it is the description of the mass we catholics celebrate every day. He even describes the Eucharist saying “we do not receive these things as common bread or common drink;...so we also HAVE BEEN TAUGHT that the food consecrated by the word of prayer which comes from him (God), from which our flesh and blood are nourished by transformation, is the flesh and blood of that incarnate Jesus.” The Catholic church didn’t make these up for no reason. They were taught by the apostles. The Church has protected these teachings.
Clement of Rome, who was taught directly by Peter and Paul; wrote about the Preeminence of Rome, and Apostolic Succession. Ignatius of Antioch, who was taught by John; mentions Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, and mentions the Catholic Church. He says it isn’t a Church without clergy, or a Eucharist without clergy. He also wrote that Rome holds the presidency. Irenaeus, the first to name the four Gospels on record, wrote about Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Apostolic Succession, Tradition, etc. They also wrote about Sunday worship. And losing salvation. Read early works like the Didache or Wpistle of Barnabas, or ProtoEvangellium of James, or Odes of Solomon; written during the Apostolic times. They all say very Catholic things.
Ignatius of Antioch (taught directly by the Apostle John): See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there, let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. ((Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 8). Ignatius, also called Theophorus, to the Church that has found mercy in the greatness of the Most High Father and in Jesus Christ, his only son; to the Church beloved and enlightened after the love of Jesus Christ, our God, by the will of him that has willed everything which is; to the Church which also holds the presidency in the place of the country of the Romans, worthy of God, worthy of honor, worthy of blessing, worthy of praise, worthy of success, worthy of sanctification, and because you hold the presidency of love, named after Christ and named after the Father; here therefore do I salute in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father. Introduction (Letter to the Romans). Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 8). Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ, which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 6). In like manner let everyone respect the deacons as they would respect Jesus Christ, and just as they respect the bishop as a type of the Father, and the presbyters [priests] as the council of God and college of Apostles. Without these, it cannot be called a church (Letter to the Trallians, Chapter 2). Those indeed, who belong to God and to Jesus Christ-they are with the bishop. And those who repent and come to the unity of the Church-they too shall be of God. . . . Do not err my brethren: if anyone follow a schismatic, he will not inherit the Kingdom of God. . . . Take care, then, to use one Eucharist, so that whatever you do, you do according to God: for there is one flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ, and one cup in the union of His Blood; one altar as there is one bishop with the presbytery and my fellow servants, the deacons (Letter to the Philadelphians, Chapter 3). To be deep in history is to cease being Protestant
The protestant dolts believe the church was founded in the 15th century; 1500 years after Jesus' death. They close their ears and minds to any facts of the early church.
Many false teaching in the protestant religion also. "tithing as money'." Prosperity Gospel", "Egalitarianism"," women pastors" claiming there only "66 books" , Divorce and remarriage, and many more..
Just watched Trent Horn's rebuttal video. Trent dismantled every point Parr made, and did so without stooping to being disrespectful, which I greatly appreciate. Sorry Mr. Parr, you've got enthusiasm, but you need to do some serious learning.
He's not slandering. He is educating. My folks were devout Catholics. I'm now Lutheran. Too much Mary worship and co- redemption ideologies. I haven't said a " Hail Mary" in 15 years now. Lutherans pray Nicine creed with the change of not using the words " Catholic church." Loved my parents with all of my ❤️. Catholics are still Christians, even though many will say they are not because they rely on the " Mass" , sacraments, and cleansing of sin via self redemptive time in Purgatory. It's completely nonsensical. All caps come across as screaming to make your point, which Catholics often do, although they know very little about the bible. I say that having been 1 of them. It's unusual ( not 100%) to find a Catholic who knows much about the bible. They usually can not have a debate because they do not do their own reading. Even Macabes, which I knew nothing of prior to doing my own reading. Apocrapha. Some Catholics I debate don't know what the Apocrapha is or know Macabes is in it. Just indoctrinated blindly without asking your own questions.
@@stever4181 A Catholic is a follower of Christ. Aka a Christian. When did the two become different? Oh yeah. 1500 years after people were practicing Christianity in the Catholic Church.
@@JO-ji4bb The word "Christian" literally translates to "little anointed ones". It was first used in the Book of Acts in chapter 11 verse 26 to refer to the followers of Jesus Christ. Before this, people who followed Jesus were referred to as believers, followers, or disciples. I have asked many Catholics how they identify themselves. The vast majority say Catholic not Christian. Christians follow christ and his words. Catholics follow a religion the RCC. People calling themselves Christians goes back to Acts written between 60 CE. Catholic was not mentioned until 110 AD, in a letter written by Saint Ignatius of Antioch. I call myself a Christian not Protestant as Catholics like to say. The term Protestant comes from the Protestation at Speyer in 1529, where the nobility protested against enforcement of the Edict of Worms which subjected advocates of Lutheranism to forfeit all of their property
@@stever4181 Well I’m Christian then. Debate settled. You choose a religion whether you know it or not. Following Christ is still being part of a religion. We just choose to be in the fullness of Christianity and carry on traditions that the early Christians did.
Allen, another sincere, respectful, and rational video. I appreciate your heart and have heard through my own research that although not all Catholics believe the 7 things you shared, it is how the Catholic Church doctrine is taught. The verses you paired are fantastic!
If you are interested in doing more research I highly recommend Trent Horns response to this video so you can hear waht the Catholic church actually teaches.God bless!
I have been a born again Christian since 2020-2021, I remember speaking to about my abortions (last year) to my sister's in laws' family, whom are catholic and also to my own mother, opening up was the most difficult thing to do and I had already deeply repented and spoken to Jesus many times. I remember my mom shouting, "YOU MURDERED YOUR BABIES?!!! YOU HAD TWO ABORTIONS?!" and it was the strangest thing, because people in religion place one sin over another and they look down on others whom have committed worse sins, in their eyes.... but God sees sin all the same, we are all sinners and we all need Jesus. I remember also speaking with my sister's aunt, and she is also a devout catholic... she was incredibly kind but it seemed she felt we needed to work off our sins and go to church in order to be saved and participate in the eucharist and baptisms and things of that nature. In my opinion, I do not agree with catholicism, it is a perversion of the truth and distortion of God's word. Furthermore, I'd also like to say, that when I was sharing my testimony, unbeknown to me... I was pregnant at the time. The Lord has redeemed me and vindicated me, my baby is beautiful and looks just like me. We may sin, and fall short, but we are never too far gone for God.

I saw your shirt and the print is "Sola Fide" or "Faith Alone". And I remember the epistle of James says "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone." (James 2:24)
Does that verse say a man is saved by works and not by faith alone? Have you studied the entire book of James? What are your views when James say if you break just one law in your entire life, it is the same is breaking all the laws? So how can works save you when everyone has broken the law? Does that type of work save people? Have you kept every aspect of the law perfectly in your life?
@@danielkim672 The context of what James said about "works" is 'good works' not a "law". Ironically I think you never read James 2:21-24 Was not our father Abraham justified by means of works, by offering his son Isaac upon the altar? Do you see that faith was cooperating with his works, and that by means of works faith was brought to fulfillment? And so the Scripture was fulfilled which says: "Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice." And so he was called the friend of God. Do you see that a man is justified by means of works, and not by faith alone? That's not a law.
@@Janxiv91the dichotomy between “good works” an “law” or “ works of the law” is not biblical. Jesus said that the two greatest laws is “ love God” and “ love your neighbor “. So any good work would be included in this which is part of the law. James is talking about being Justified in your claim to faith. Notice verse 14 where he says “if someone says they have faith “ James is saying that saving faith is demonstrated by ones works. One can claim to have faith without works have to back it up. Paul in Romans is talking about the justify before God

Don't worry, as a catholic I really enjoy your videos. And the way you expose your points are very nicely done. Nevertheless all your points have already been answered many times. Short answer : either Jesus told the truth when he promised the Paraclet would teach and enlight the Church with all that Jesus didn't explain. Either Jesus lied and the Church can be corrupted. But then you encounter a big problem as the Bible, and specially the New Testament, can't be taken as the Word of God as it took 5 centuries for the Church to select the legit books that compose the New Testament. To sum up, there is no rational way to believe the Bible is telling the truth if you claim the authority under which it has been elaborated can be corrupted. Why would it be corrupted for its teachings, but would be infaillible when it comes for the Bible? 2) Amongst the argument you oppose to the catholic faith there is a false fact. There is no way the catholic faith would believe a saint is more efficient than an other. A Saint is just a member of the big spiritual family called the Church, an exemple to follow, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, a close friend. Saints are the branches of the vine. You assume the part of the Gospel about Lazarus is hell. Nothing in the text says the selfish condition of the rich man is eternal. Specially as the rich man is starting to show compassion towards his brothers. 3) Amongst the false understandings you expose about your the catholic faith the mortal sin is very very sad. Even if you first recall what is a mortal sin : not only it requires a serious matter, but it's a sin you commit with the FULL and FREE will to sin, fully knowing it's a mortal sin and you have no repent before your death, you end by reducing the mortal sin to a formal and serious act with no consideration for freedom and consciousness of the sinner. Let's take masturbation for instance. It is indeed a matter where a mortal sin can be committed. But the act in itself is not enough. If the freedom of the sinner is reduced (addiction, anxiety), or doesn't he have any knowledge that it is a mortality sin, there is no mortal sin. So in any doubt go to confession. Not only Jesus himself did forgive sins through a personal encounter, but "whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." 4) when Jesus asks the sinner not to sin anymore, he indeed asks for a human cooperation with His Grace.
The Rosary in the title… The Rosary is literally made to Contemplate the Mysteries of the Faith while praying. Like the Resurrection, the Crucifixion, etc. On the certain liturgical days for them (even Jews had a liturgical reading system). Vain repititions are different from repetitions in general. Jesus gave us the Our Father, and the Cherubim say the same words repeatedly. What a gain repetition is, what the first century pagans were doing, was believing that empty rituals, would “force” a “god” into hearing a prayer, by annoying them. God doesn’t mind you saying “I love you”, hundreds of times. However, the point Jesus is making, is that you actually have to mean the words you pray, and not just throw words out, not meaning it. They seem to forget this.
How can anyone but the Godhead hear and answer prayers when they have died? Only the Godhead is all knowing..all present and all powerful. So the dead can never hear or answer our prayers
@@BenMcleanhall True. My bad brother, I misread your comment. I thought you were asking him how the Canon of scripture was decided. Hi Allen, you were one of the first Christian TH-camrs I watched since I became a believer. I always supported you, as you are very well-spoken. I may not be the most knowledgeable person here. However, by God's grace, I did my own research into church history and learned about the early Ante-Nicene Church Fathers along. Many writings I've read from the early Christian church sound like what the Catholic Church is today, especially with church authority, church unity, the Eucharist, etc... I never knew about church history or even the protestant reformation. Perhaps, we are the ones who are wrong. Perhaps we should return to original Christianity rather than the new versions of Christianity that teach newer doctrines today. I had many objections, but after prayer, researching, and reading the bible, I don't see how I can stay here. I would encourage everyone to continue to seek God and search for the fullness of truth. There are many misconceptions about Catholics that many of us are taught by people who are against the Catholic church. At the very least, listen to Catholic defenses against these accusations rather than only hearing from one side. That seems fair to avoid being biased. I know it might seem scary/challenging/uncomfortable, but it's worth studying since we broke off from the catholic church after all. Here are some questions we should ask: -Did God only leave us with the bible, or a bible and a Church? -Did God let His Church go corrupt? Was it ever his church in the first place? -What happened to Christianity after the apostles died? -Are newer denominations currently trying to reinvent the wheel when the Catholic Church already figured it out? -Are we 21st-century Christians going to say we know more about true Christianity than the early Church fathers (Clement of Rome, Polycarp, Irenaeus, Ignatius of Antioch, Athanasius, etc) did? -If we trust the early church to give us the canon, or even the doctrine of the Trinity, why can't we trust them for anything else? -Why are protestant denominations disputing over elementary teachings that we were told to move on from a long time ago in the book of Hebrews. (Hebrews 6:1)? -Is it possible that God already revealed some revelations of scripture to his faithful servants long ago before we got here? If so, how is their interpretation different from our personal interpretations today? In what ways are they similar? And when searching for the answers, we must be sure to hear from BOTH sides. I believe God loves all of us and He wants us to grow in knowledge and wisdom. He wants us to seek him: Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 7:7-8, Hebrews 11:6. These verses show that God wants us to seek him! So let's get our backpacks and binoculars and start hiking. I know most of us are already comfortable with our own church that we have been brought up in, but perhaps it's time to start asking deep questions about our faith to truly know why we believe what we have been told. Good theology matters. Bad theology can hurt us in the end. Jesus truly loves us, so if there is a possibility that the version of Christianity we have been taught today isn't the same as the original, we have the right to know. If we have been taught by teachers who came before us and passed down new teachings to us and now we are taught to hate the catholic church, we at least owe it to ourselves to find out if we have been led astray or not. God bless you all and may He bring us into more truth, knowledge, and understanding
He was one of the first Christian TH-camrs I watched too, but I was also Catholic. I didn TV know yet there were different denominations, but then found out. I looked at Catholic responses to Protestant things, and thought that Allen was incorrect, and the Church was true.
Your so right I can see being Lutheran or Anglican but these folks don’t even believe the same as Martin Luther let alone the early churches like Catholic and Orthodox then they have the nerve to say the first Christians were wrong I don’t get it they don’t even believe in baptismal regeneration like Lutheran or Anglican it’s like they thru out all of Christian history
Perhaps we should just read the bible and do as it says. Like not pray to saints and worship statues like the one of mother Mary. Perhaps the original teachings are in the bible? Lol
You should read st Frances de sales’ book “ 😢Catholic controversy. “ Philip had to go to Ethiopian eunuch to help him understand Isaiah. You cannot understand scripture unless it is taught properly by the original Christians ( Catholic Church)
’m going to DESTROY Allen Parr’s arguments: 1. Praying to the dead James 5:16 "Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful". This is actually used by Catholic for prayers of certain people being more powerful. You see that the prayers of the righteous are powerful, but Jesus clearly says that there are greatest and least in the Kingdom. Therefore, those that are more righteous, have more powerful prayers. God is more likely to give more graces based off of their prayers. Them being more righteous is precisely the reason we ask for their prayers. For example, in Job; Job’s friends are told to ask Job to pray for them, and only then would God relent. Moses prays for the people of Israel, and then God does not destroy them. The people of Israel could not bring rain, but Elijah, was able too. Abraham prayed for Pharaoh, and God saved Pharaoh’s house. After the people had leprosy, Moses prayed for them: Numbers 21:7-8 And the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. [8] And the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and every one who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” Elijah prayed for the life of the child of the widow woman, who was righteous herself, giving Elijah food. Elisha also prayed and the Lord heard him in the same way. This is very clear in the Scriptures. Secondly, you misinterpret Hebrews. Hebrews 11:32 mentions righteous people who were already dead: “And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets,” Then it mentions Martyrs: Hebrews 11:35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Hebrews 12:1-2 finally says: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Does this merely say that we can look to the holy loves of the people of the past to encourage us, like you say? No. It says to “throw off everything that hinders” onto them. Pray tell how we do that just by “looking at their lives”. It is in the context of them cheering from the stands of a chariot race, that is the symbolism. People, some that are dead, cheering you on. Meaning they see your life. Next, they are described as a “cloud”, turning your attention to heaven, obviously, Next, Revelation 5:8 says: “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” First of all, the twenty four elders are Christians in heaven. All Biblical scholars basically agree. They are clothed in white, have crowns, etc. You don’t engage with this verse, and try to skip past it. Secondly, they “carry the prayers” of the Saints, to God. Meaning they clearly know of the prayers, and bring them to God. Does this not sound like intercession? In fact, you don’t understand this in the first century Jewish context. The Jews went to the graves of the Tzadikim (righteous ones), and then prayed there. They believed that the Tzadkim would intercede for them to God. And that they “carried their prayers” to God, symbolically meaning intercession. So, if you understand the Jewish term, then you understand why this verse means what it does. The Talmud and Mishnah both speak of this. Another Revelation verse talks about angels doing this in the form of incense. Some Rabbis believed that you could pray directly to the dead, some thought they only carried the prayers, etc. But Apostolic Tradition says that we can pray directly to them. We don’t believe in Scripture Alone, and hold also to the Teaching and Preaching of the Apostles, passed down through the Church, in the form of Apostolic Tradition, which is also the Word of God. Also, this is not “necromancy”, necromancy is seeking hidden knowledge through supernatural means, apart from God. However, the flow of information is in the reverse, in this practice. And it is all done through God, so it can’t be apart from God.
2. Praying for the dead/Purgatory First of all, 2 Maccabees has been Scripture for centuries, until Martin Luther removed 7 Books from the Bible Canon, because they didn’t agree with his own personal interpretation of Scripture. You don’t deny that it clearly teaches praying for the dead. Secondly, you misunderstand Purgatory. Only the saved go to Purgatory, to be purified, before entering heaven. To be purified specifically of Temporal Punishment. Or the effects of sin on the sinner and the world, that must have punishment and purification, before entering heaven, which you must be perfectly cleansed to enter. The Bible clearly says that Christians still must suffer for sin, and that God chastises us. Paul mentions the things that are lacking in the afflictions of Christ. That would be temporal punishment, or the effects of sin. This is why, for example, Tobit says almsgiving forgives sin, or the Temporal Punishment. Christ’s Sacrifice remits Eternal Punishment. And, Temporal Punishment can only be remitted through and because of Christ, by Uniting yourself to his Cross. It is satanic not to take up your Cross, and follow Him. Is it not clear that some Christians still die with unhealthy and worldly attachments, and need purification before entering heaven? My main point however, is that Purgatory does not change your eternal destination. If you go to Purgatory, you are saved, you just need the “Final Purification”, before entering heaven. Therefore, you are judged before this, and you aren’t “crossing the chasm”, you are already going to heaven. So your point is nought. The New Testament does in fact mention this as well. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 the work of each will come to light, for the Day* will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work.f 14 If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. 15 But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved,* but only as through fire.
3. Transubstantiation This has to be the worst of your responses. The bread and wine become the Body and Blood, so of course, Jesus isn’t literally taking off His Flesh, and feeding it to them. But He does say, “This is My Body”, in the very verse you qoute. And “This is My Blood”. In John 6, Jesus says you must Eat His Flesh and Drink His Blood. Then, people ask “how can this be?”. He even loses disciples in John 6:66. The only time this is recorded happening. Nobody thought that Jesus was speaking literally when saying He was a Gate. However, they all think so here. And notice, that Jesus never corrects them. In fact, when He is alone with the Apostles, whom He normally explained these things too, he never says He was speaking metaphorically. The Romans unalived Christians calling them cannibals for this. You act the same as these men. This is not that. As one, cannibalism removes a part of the substance. Jesus isn’t having holes put into him during this, up in heaven. They eat dead flesh, the Eucharist is Living. And they do it for physical nourishment, but this is Spiritual Nourishment.
4. Mortal and Venial Sin First, you misunderstand James. “What James means when he says that whoever fails on one point of the law is guilty of breaking all of it is not that all humans are equally guilty if they sin once-then there would be no difference in the levels of punishment people would receive, yet Jesus says there will be (Lk 12:47-48; cf. Mt 10:15, 11:22-24). What James means is that anyone who breaks one point of the law is guilty of breaking the law itself, of breaking it as an entity. To give an analogy, anyone who breaks one part of a plate is guilty of breaking the plate. He may not have broken every part of it-smashed it into pieces-but he is guilty of breaking the plate as a whole. In the same way, a person who breaks one law has broken the law as a whole; he has become a lawbreaker, which is James’s point, as is clear from the next verse: “For he who said, `Do not commit adultery,’ said also, `Do not kill.’ If you do not commit adultery but do kill, you have become a transgressor of the law” (Jas 2:11). This means all of us need mercy and therefore need to be merciful (Jas 2:12-13).” Mortal and Venial sin are cleary taught in the Bible: 1 John 5:17: “All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.” Yet all sins don’t lose salvation: “We all stumble in many ways” (Jas 3:2). Paul himself lists types of sins that cause you to “not Inherit the Kingdom of God”.
I was baptized by the RCC as an infant and actually used to go to mass with my dad but then also attend a protestant church because my mom was protestant. Growing up i was taught to read the Holy scriptures for myself and not just accept someones opinion, even that of a priest or pastor. I truly wish Roman Catholics would actually read their bibles, even their Catholic New Testament. They would find that there is so much of what the RCC Catechism teaches that does not line up with what the bible teaches, in a lot of cases it comes straight from our LORD Jesus' own words! But yet most can't let go of tradition and the corrupt teachings of the RCC, so sad.
Same situation except mama was a Catholic and vice versa😅 That's just how God made it easier for me to fimd Him. I just had to find out the truth for my self
Why do Protestants continually bash Catholics?? If it were not for the Catholics there would be no Bible. Protestants were not even around for over a 1000 years. I would love to refute each point you make but I am weary. I think you are a wonderful and Godly man and Jesus is the focus not religion. We Catholics love Jesus and there is no other way to heaven but through Christ.
Actually the first "Christians" were NOT Roman Catholic, they were Jews, including Peter, whom Catholics claim was their first Pope, though Peter would surely not claim that title for himself, nor did he. In fact the first few "Popes" are not historical, but based on tradition, and we all know how Jesus felt about the traditions of man. ( Matthew 15:1-20, Matthew 23:13-30, Mark 7:1-22 ) The church spread out from Jerusalem to all the world. The Greek church fathers helped preserve the Bible (see history of Septuagint).
I don't understand because that's not what Catholics traditionally teach , from what my research states. I have been told Catholics see Jesus - To speak correctly Yeshua or Yahusha -as real but not as the Savior, the Messiah
@@WillNMechelle According to official Catholic sources "The Catholic Church teaches that Jesus Christ is the Savior sent to us by God the Father to rescue the whole human race from sin and its consequences." Catholics also see Jesus as the Messiah or anointed one of God the Father.

One small truth to add. All children of God are called saints the moment they are saved by the Grace of God through our faith, through the Holy Spirit. There are no special deeds or classifications of works that needs to be accomplished to be a 'saint' in God's eyes.
I tell my Roman Catholic family members when they talk about their “saints”, I say “hey, I’m a saint, I can pray for you.” You can see the look on their face, it’s priceless and yet sad.

Allen Parr, it is the "WORKS of the LAW" (Moses/Mosaic Laws) that we may boast of that are not needed/required in our SALVATION, however, the "WORKS of FAITH" taught by Christ Jesus are definitely needed/required to manifest our FAITH (in Christ) by God's GRACE till the end of our life on Earth... I converted to catholicism from Calvinist and Lutheran protestant groups. I just watched Trent horns video response to this video and decided to watch the full original thing myself so that I got the full context. I think there were a lot of misconceptions in this video (like saying that Protestants treat the Lord's supper as a remembrance which is not the case for the magisterial reformers, a sort of equivocation on the doctrine of the real presence and transubstantiation, the translation being used in the video is not great since, for example l, "to him" does not appear in the Greek text of 1 John 1:9, etc) that are pretty easy to respond to. It seems like this video was responding to a Catholic statement of faith without taking into account the responses and nuances of these beliefs. I hope you're able to take up Trent's offer to do a discussion together.

Catholics are Christian stop it we are saved by Jesus we made the Bible with the Orthodox that’s history Even Luther believed in Mary being blessed and ever virgin and that communion is not just a symbol and in baptismal regeneration
Protestants ask yourself this question: is your interpretation of scripture fallible or infallible? Why are there different beliefs. practices Protestants? Anglican’s believe in Eucharist. Presbyterian practice infant baptism. How do you know your denomination has correct interpretation? Lutheran and calvin believed in Mary is ever virgin. They both support infant baptism. Methodists believe in weekly communion whereas others do it once a month. If Protestantism is true all would be United . But all not are not. Each Protestant calls others as false teachers and heretics.
You: "If Protestantism is true all would be United " Me: Give me the definition of "Protestantism". Where did this word come from? Let's start there. I really think deep down you have no clue and are only repeating what you have been told. So let's see.
@cslewis1404 It sounds like you are saying Protestantism is basically a version or Roman Catholicism, that is why I do not consider myself a protestant but a son of the living God who has his name written in the Lambs book of life and I am also a citizen of HEAVEN!
I don't "belong" to any sect of an organized denomination. I am a member of the Church (all believers) and we are the Body of Christ and he is the head. Catholic Church needs to fall in line with Scripture and the New Covenant of Jesus Christ AND repent! Someone needs to post a little note on the gates of the Vatican or the "Holy City". Oh and don't forget the payment for our sins through the penance the Priests give you after you confess. Yes, I grew up in it and know one (the Priests) EVER bothered to say to me well good news little d, Jesus paid for ALL of your sins and you are forgiven, yes its all been taken care of! so if you would like to go off to the side and a thank Jesus because you are so great -full you are welcome to do that. Otgerwise, you can continue thanking Jesus anywhere and ALL THE TIME talking to Him when you fall and need help. We will always be here if you want to talk about any sins that are bothering you, but you don't HAVE to, you can just talk to God anytime! That would have been great! And Biblical!
Trent horn thoroughly refuted and corrected Allen’s misunderstandings of Catholicism. I’d say I’d love to see a dialogue but I know Allen won’t do that🤷♂️.
ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR DENOMINATION IT'S ABOUT FOLLOWING THE DIRECT INSTRUCTIONS OF JESUS I'M CATHOLIC BUT I CAN SEE EXTRA BIBLICAL ACTIVITIES THAT WERE THOUGHT TO US WHEN WE WERE TO YOUNG TO SPIRITUALLY DESERN AND ANALYZE JESUS IS TRUTH NOT THE CHURCH
You don't seem like a very good Catholic... The Scriptures teach that the Church is the pillar and ground of truth. I Timothy 3:15 NKJV [15] but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. But if the whole Church can fall into error, how is the truth not lost? And how then can this verse remain true if the Church doesn't remain true?
There is a also a catholic dogma of corredemption which says that Mary has also contributed to the salvation of humankind. This doctrine is purely anathema and Anti-Christ.
I'm a saved Catholic. I don't pay attention to those teachings. But I pray for the Catholic church that they will learn the truth. The most important is that Love for God and Christ and others is more important. Being saved by grace alone by faith is how we are saved. Good works is a by product. There are many saved believers who attend Catholic churches. We are praying for our churches that people will learn the truth.
Could I respectfully ask how it is possible to be a biblical saved Catholic and still be a member of the Roman Catholic Church. I am not trying to be abusive in any way but really would like to know how you can be saved and attend a church that teaches doctrine completely contrary to what the scriptures clearly teach about how to be reconciled to God. The teaching of this church is so contrary to the scriptures that I find it impossible to believe that you can be genuinely saved and still be in the RC Church. Thank you
Then what you received is a false gospel. The Bible commands to "come out from among them" many will say, Lord, Lord but will not enter into the kingdom of God.

A close friend of mine passed away recently, and I attended her funeral mass. She was a beautiful, kind woman of 93 years, and I loved her dearly. As soon as I walked thru the CC doors, I felt such an oppression come over me. A heaviness. I went through the procession line and greeted the family, saying my goodbyes to my dear friend. I took my seat, still feeling the heaviness on my chest. I mean, it’s a funeral, so a little anxiety is to be expected. When the mass started, the priest started talking about my friend, and how we all needed to pray for her soul and that we can only hope that she is in heaven, and that she had done enough in this life. The way he said it sounded so hopeless. I remember thinking to myself. “What is “enough”? Is there a list somewhere? I check off box that you can make sure that you’ve done enough? Is it in the Bible somewhere… a list of everything you have to accomplish before you die, to be saved? I guess if so, Jesus didn’t even have to come to Earth to shed His blood for us, if we can save ourselves by doing “enough”. I felt ill. Everyone was sobbing. I looked around. Up in the far right corner of the church was a huge statue of what appeared to be Joseph, holding a baby (Jesus?). In the far left corner another huge statue of a woman, which I assumed to be Mary. Over to the right of Joseph’s statue was a very tiny one of what appeared to be Jesus as an adult. In the front of the sanctuary… front and center, in HUGE stained glass, was the Pope. My eyes kept going back to Jesus… the tiny little, insignificant Jesus statue that was barely noticeable if you weren’t looking for it. I was looking for it, because Jesus is my everything. That said so much to me…. I love my friend who passed, but I hated her funeral. It was so depressing, and I couldn’t wait to leave. 😢
The source and the summit of the mass was the Eucharist, the closest in this temporal world to being in communion with God. One of the seven sacraments practiced in the early church as prescribed by Jesus. Catholic and Orthodox Churches are made to be a beatific vision of Heaven on the Earth, with the saints and angels surrounding the altar, where the priest consecrates the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus, so that every generation can be in communion with Him until He returns again.
I was never tempted to convert to Catholicism. Although I don’t agree i will never disrespect those who believe that theology but I pray that they worship in spirit and truth. I wish they read for themselves and ask questions to their church leaders. They should be able to support the doctrine with Biblical teachings if not, then they know what to do. If they ignore the truth then we all will have to answer to God.
Hi-I’m Catholic and spent many years in Protestant churches of various denominations. The main problem here is that Mr. Parr has no more authority to interpret and teach Scripture than anyone else who can open a Bible. And that is why there are as many Protestant denominations as there are opinions on Scripture. Christianity did not disappear after the New Testament and reappear with Martin Luther. Unfortunately many criticize what they have not taken the time to understand.
There will always be immitations; fakes of an original item or aspect. Does that make the original fake? There is only one purpose why Gid sent Jesus Christ - to shed His blood and reconcile us back to God. Only the blood of Jesus can restore us back to God's original intent for us, no other. To get to God and His Kingdom (heaven), it HAS TO BE VIA THE BLOOD OF JESUS! May God give us wisdom🙏
Agreed. Nobody has that authority, but understanding and interpretation come from the Lord to those who ask it of Him. It is not reserved only for the pope and catholic bishops and priests or Protestant pastors and seminarians. And His Word remains the most sure witness of His Will revealed to us, above and beyond the commentaries of men. It shall outlive the lives and verbose tomes of men. Any opinions and conclusions, written, spoken, and otherwise must be weighed against, and founded in, the whole of His counsel. If any interpretation, opinion or suggestion contradicts His counsel in the slightest way, it is not of Him, and is a seed of confusion. I deplore the existence of denominational rifts in the body that must be one, but it is as a result of people leaning on their own understanding, rather than letting God interpret His word to give understanding. We are to be like Joseph, when he interpreted Pharoah’s dreams: he leaned on the Lord, and not himself.

@annb9029 Do you think that teaching that there is a treasury of good works that can be credited to someone else who wasn't good enough is an honest doctrine?
This is a broad generalization and I’m sure I will hear about it, but The Catholic Church is more about the church itself, the power and influence it has, than it is about Jesus. No church is perfect, but any church that claims your access to God is only through what happens ‘here’ within these walls is way off base.
Where does the Catholic Church anywhere say God can only be accessed within the walls of a Catholic Church? I find that hard to believe, considering there are many Catholic devotions the church has setup to help people pray outside of the 4 walls of the church...
@@scottc2076 Saying the sacraments can only be practiced by a valid priest is different than saying ones only access to God is between 4 walls. Hi there. I am actually making my way to the Catholic church. God willing. RCIA starts towards the end of the year. Long story short: church history, and the early Church Fathers. I'll be praying for you and your family.
Allen another HUGE issue with prayers to the dead is that it attributes God like power to them…the ability to “hear” and “look in to” the hearts of millions of people all over the world speaking in different languages etc, so basically giving them the ability to be omniscient
When you join with Christ after dying righteous, you become united with him. I believe it is not at all difficult to imagine what the "possibilities" of this unity are. After all, *Luke 15: 7* says: _"Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."_ If those in Heaven rejoice... it means those in Heaven have been given the capacity to notice, one way or another. Do not put limits to what is possible in Heaven. On the contrary, we should rejoice at how awesome it will be.
Your concern about praying to saints attributing God-like powers to them can be addressed by clarifying Catholic beliefs: 1. Communion of Saints: Catholics believe in a spiritual connection with the saints in heaven, as expressed in Hebrews 12:1, which speaks of a "great cloud of witnesses" surrounding us. 2. Intercessory Role of Saints: Catholics ask saints to intercede for them, similar to asking fellow Christians for prayers. This is based on the understanding that the saints, being with God, can pray for us, as suggested in Revelation 5:8 ("As he did so, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people."), where the elders present the prayers of the saints before God. 3. No Divine Powers Attributed: Catholics do not believe that saints have omniscience or omnipotence. Their ability to intercede is entirely dependent on God’s grace. 1 Timothy 2:5 (" For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and human beings together, the man Christ Jesus") emphasizes that Jesus is the one mediator between God and humanity, and Catholics believe that the saints' intercession participates in Christ’s unique mediation, not replaces it. 4. Biblical Precedents for Intercession: Scripture supports the concept of intercession. In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, believers are encouraged to make "supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings" for all people. This extends to those in heaven, who are alive in Christ as shown in Luke 20:38, ("Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive"). To summarize everything, the practice of asking for the saints' intercession is grounded in biblical principles of intercessory prayer and the communion of saints, always recognizing that God alone is the source of all grace and power. I hope this helps guide you to all truth. Yours in Christ.
I was raised Catholic and have become an evangelical praise God. My sisters, however, our strong practicing Catholics and one of them actually says she still prays for our dead grandmother who committed suicide in the 60s. She believes she’s going to pray her out of purgatory. That makes me so very sad
Explain 1 John 5:16-17then if you think there's no such thing as mortal vs venial sin. Some translation s say “sin that is not deadly” but point stands: not all sins have the same degree of seriousness
Also, that saying on your shirt is only found in ONE place in all of scripture and it’s preceded by the word “not”. But Catholics are the unbiblical ones, right? So cringe.
@@CurtosiusMaximus828 you understand that we are saved by faith alone and because we HAVE faith our works look different? Our works is just proof of our faith but it’s not by works that we are saved. You can’t say you’re a true follower of Christ if your out murdering stealing or being hard of heart like it says telling the poor man to stand over there or sit by my feet while telling rich man come sit here in a good place. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV
@@CurtosiusMaximus828 lastly being a believer means that you pray and talk to God and obey when he puts things on your heart to do or what direction to go in life and to be loving and kind to all to do HIS will on earth. Those works are just us following God and his commandments. Do you get what the Bible is saying? ““If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15 ESV
@@smallfeet1345 yes. Of course. But that means you’re not saved by faith alone. Nowhere in the entire Bible does it say you’re justified by faith ALONE. We are justified by faith, hope, and love, love being even more important than faith (“And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:2-3, 13) Protestants reject this biblical principle because to suggest that love is an integral part of our salvation implies that works is an integral part, because agape love is love that works in action. They reject the scriptural teachings for the teaching of “faith alone” which is explicitly denied in James. And if you read the chapter in context, it’s saying, if you don’t do these works of love, what good is your faith? “What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him? If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.” James 2:14-17, 19, 24
I disagree also with some Protestants regarding SOLA SCRIPTURE (Scripture/Bible Alone)... Remember the Individual Written Holy Scriptures (not compiled or Bible/Book yet) of the N.T. were completed around 110 A.D. after the Gospel of John and the Revelation were translated into Greek Language and distributed in the Early 7 Churches of God in Asia Minor of the 1st Cent. A.D. ... CHRISTIANITY started around 30 or 33 A.D. after the Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Christ Jesus back to Heaven without the "WRITTEN WORD of God" (Individual Collections of the Holy Scriptures)... The Earliest Epistles/Letters of Paul, and Peter were around 60 - 65 A.D., before they were Martyrdom around 65 - 67 A.D., respectively. The Gospel of Mark and Matthew started only after the 2nd Temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire around 70 A.D. ... Therefore, NO Written Gospels for around 40 Years of Christianity... St. Paul clearly said, "HOLD FIRMLY with both the SPOKEN/ORAL and WRITTEN TRADITIONS" (ref. 2 Thessa. 2:15)... What I am against with the R.C.C. is putting the SPOKEN/ORAL TRADITION including Pope's Doctrines/dogmas above/beyond/exceed the WRITTEN TRADITION... St. Paul clearly warned us all, "DO NOT GO BEYOND/EXCEED WHAT IS WRITTEN."... (ref. 1 Corin. 4:6)... or else... God's CURSE (Anathema/Eternal Damnation/ Condemnation) to those who do." (ref. Galatians 1:8)... As long as the SPOKEN/ORAL Tradition does not go beyond/exceed what is WRITTEN (Holy Scriptures), then that is fine for Christians to practice from Generation to Generation up till now... however, if it does, the WRITTEN Tradition must overrule, supersede, and stop/cease the Christain practice... that is GOD's WILL be done... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.
@@fishing9467 Where in the Scripture does it teach this? This is what Scripture says about Mary, a human being. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Mary sinned. Many many times. Just like the rest of us.
By Stating that saints in heaven cannot pray for us ,is a big contradiction to the belief in priesthood of all believers. If saints in heaven are alive in Christ Jesus they can hear our prayers. Read Luke 20:38He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive Revelations 5 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.
Only Jesus and the Holy Spirit are qualified to be our intercessors. (Romans 8:26,34). There is only one priest among men who can can go to God in his own right and intercede for us, who himself does not need an intercessor. That man is Jesus Christ.
Wow! Thank you soo much for making this video Pastor Parr. I grew up Catholic and can attest to everything you said as being true, especially the part about works. As a child growing up Catholic I was soo scared and terrified of God. In my mind as a child, God was mean and scary and frankly I wanted nothing to do with Him because of the terrifying teachings of the Catholic Church. Fortunately, God did not give up on me and He led me back to Himself a couple years ago and this time I am correctly learning who God is. He is not the angry God that the Catholic Church led me to believe He is in fact a very loving God that loves me in spite of the fact that I fall short everyday and best of all I truly understand the importance and significance of what Jesus did on the Cross for me and why He did it. I know can say that I truly LOVE GOD. 🙂
Anglican here. If you have true faith, you will have good works to accompany that faith and those works will testify about that faith much in the same way a tree's fruit testifies about it.
In other word true faith produces good works.

If communion is 'just' a symbol, why did Paul say that there is those sick and dying from taking it unrighteously?
Exactly - Paul also said that by eating of the body and blood we participate in the sacrifice.
👍. I always wondered what the phrases meant when I was Protestant but no answer!

Eternal Security is false:
1. Jesus says branches are “cut off”, meaning that they were once part of the vine, or saved, but no longer. You cannot be “cut off”, unless you were once part of the vine.
2. Peter calls them “dogs returning to their own v-m-t
3. The New Testament warns us over and over again to be careful and avoid sin.
4. Paul himself was unsure of his salvation until right before his death. He “won the race, persevered”
5. Paul says certain Christians had “fallen from grace”
6. Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord”, will enter heaven

He then turned to Peter and asked "are you going to walk too?" Peter just said "You offer eternal life where else would we go"
Jesus died for all sins, Mortal sins are just sins that are greater that others in the context of its severity, it just means needing repentance over since it's mostly tied to how you live your life and how you worship God or not. and again it does not get them in purgatory, all souls in purgatory are saved, judgement has been made upon them and since no sin or impurities can enter heaven thus the cleansing, Christ's salvific sacrifice is offered freely but We don't have the license to do what we want expecting to still be saved.
Jesus instituted the sacrament of confession Jn 20 23
With charity I say the following on the topics you touched which I disagree with:
The saints are "sleeping" as is described by the Bible of those who died while in the faith.

If anybody wants the truth about the Catholic Church watch Trent Horn , or Father Mike Schmitz , or Bishop Barron , X Catholics are the most uneducated about Catholics because of being poorly taught for 35 years after Vatican 2 there was miscommunication after Vatican 2 , how do I know this , I use to be one of them I was a part of the poorly Catholic educated we were not taught about the faith or the Bible in class it was read at Mass but kids are not going to take the time to learn that , but then as a adult I took the time to read the Bible and the catechism hand and hand and realize they match up with no errors , A X Catholic does not understand Catholic language, Baptisms and Confirmation is when Catholics are born into Christ and confirm to follow Jesus, Catholics are saved grace by the Blood of Jesus on the cross , he paid for our sins , NO we’re in the catechism does it say Catholics are saved by works. , X Catholics only had bad teachings one day a week even Catholic schools were bad , if someone wants Catholic truth they need to listen to Trent Horn or Bishop Barron or Father Mike , today Catholics have Bible studies and better education , I’m not here to have people switch churches but i will state inaccurate Catholic statements (like we’re not Christians) we are., I’m saved by Jesus blood on the cross and communion is Holy and sacred because of this verse -John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. , Catholics follow the Nicene Creed - Baptism
John 3:5 - “Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 28:19 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
Confirmation
Luke 24:49 - “But stay you in the city of Jerusalem till you be endued with power from on high.”
The Eucharist
John 6:54 - “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you.”
Sacrament of Penance [Confession]
Psalm 41:4 - “Heal, O Lord, my soul, for I have sinned against Thee.”
John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”
Anointing of the Sick [Extrem Unction]
James 5:14-15 - “Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
Matrimony
Matthew 19:4-6 - “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
Holy Orders
Matthew 10:1 - Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
John 20:22-23 - “And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”
If you read the catechism it is forbidden to worship anyone but God worship for Catholics is sacrifice only for God at Mass Let me state this , it is Jesus who assumed his mom to heaven, it was Jesus that made his mom sinless , it was Jesus that Made her the mother of the church , Mary did nothing on her own Jesus made her just like the ark of the covenant, I think Protestants get confused and think Mary did all this on her own and this is not the case Jesus new before Mary was born what he had planned for her like the ark
John 13:20 - Jesus says, “he who receives anyone who I send, receives Me.” He who receives the apostles, receives Christ Himself.
Here's my response to the first objection you raised:
In Catholic theology, the Church is the Body of Christ.
Catholic church was tne forst Christian church with many trading passed by the apostles, guess you think that Jesus is pagan 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Best thing my family ever did was become catholic thirty years
Far more biblical than any protestant church once you really understand
But not really
Amen
@@shaunalea823the whole Catholic mass is scripture the hymns sung are scripture based hymns the prayers said in mass are from scripture the Eucharist is the body and blood of our lord Jesus he said the words at the last supper take this and eat this is my body. Take and drink this is my blood. Do this in memory of me. That's directly from scripture.
1 Tim 3:15..The Church is the pillar and bulwark of the truth.

Anyone wishing to find out what the Catholic Church actually teaches should consult the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as the canons and decrees of the Church’s councils.

Thank you brother ❤
Alan Parr obviously is part of a very low church Protestant denomination. I felt pretty attacked as a Lutheran Christian 😞
I understand catholic doctrines very well, and he completely misunderstood and misrepresented your catechism here. That really sucks 😕 not all protestants are like this, so please dont think Alan Parr represents protestants. He certainly doesn't represent Lutherans!! 🤨
No he has not. He uses scripture Mr catholic institution who worships statues and kisses men's hands.

How could a 'false teaching' survive for 2000+ years?
Simple, Satan is still in this world since the fall.
@@Maria_Maria_San Indeed, very present since the Reformation!
The Catholic Church only existed at most for 800 years

I agree with you! The majority of Protestants believe Christ is present in the supper to some degree.
500 years and still no Protestant catechism. So who is to say what Protestants believe? Every time a Protestant has argued with me against the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist he has said that Jesus meant only symbolic and not real presence.
@bridgefin I'm protestant and I hate it when someone says the Lord's supper is just a symbol. Where in scripture was anything, "just a symbol "
Thank you brother Allen! The Lord has given you the ability to express His Word in a clear, precise and loving manner and thereby giving God great glory.
Hello Pastor. Please give a message on the dangers of the Jehovah Witness religion. So many people are hurt by this cult. Blessings and Thank you

So sad. Praying for them.

He has a video on that already, search it up, you'll find it
@@Maria_Maria_San Well said. It is good that you pray for the lost, as God wishes none to perish, but to come to a saving knowledge of the gospel of Christ. Praying for all those in spiritual darkness is just one of the ministries of the body of Christ, and fulfills God's requirement to love our neighbor as ourselves. Mark 12:30-31.

Dear catholics/catholic,
Please read this with a open mind and explain to yourselves/yourself, why Mary said that God is her God and LORD and Savior,
and NOT Herself?
Exodus 20:2-6 KJV
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Luke 1:46-55 KJV
[46] And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
[47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Nonsense! He can do what he wants per II Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
He won't
He certainly won't because he will get utterly debunked by Trent Horn. Alan Parr is a false teacher who relies on clicks and likes to pay his bills.

To be steeped in scriptures is to denounce Catholicism and declare yourself to be a follower of Christ and call yourself a Christian, not a Catholic.

I highly recommend watching Bishop Robert Barron, youtube video on understanding of Eucharist. He has better exegesis than Allen Parr. You deserve to know how it was interpreted by early Christians
God searches our hearts no church will take anybody to heaven have a relationship with Jesus and ask for his forgiveness and his mercy 🙏 that can take me to heaven
There is so much confusion in the Christian Church, no unity, this is the devils doing. All I can say is pray to Lord our God for wisdom and He will lead you to the truth if you do so every day with a humble and sincere heart. Praise God 🙏
Justin Martyr wrote before 165ad the description of how early christians worshiped and it is the description of the mass we catholics celebrate every day. He even describes the Eucharist saying “we do not receive these things as common bread or common drink;...so we also HAVE BEEN TAUGHT that the food consecrated by the word of prayer which comes from him (God), from which our flesh and blood are nourished by transformation, is the flesh and blood of that incarnate Jesus.”
The Catholic church didn’t make these up for no reason.
Ignatius of Antioch (taught directly by the Apostle John):
See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God.

So then what you’re saying is you’re all over the place. If you know scripture you won’t be bouncing all over the place. You are seeing a video explaining the heresy of Catholicism but yet have decided to return to it?
@@Cesar-pq2ckOr maybe he's learned over the last 10 years based on an increased understanding of Scripture that he never should have left Catholicism? Protestantism is so far from the Church Christ established it's unreal...

This video really helped me. I have been a catholic. Left 2 yrs ago. Now im alone. The Holy Spirit will lead me.
Will you discuss this publicly with Trent Horn?
I saw your shirt and the print is "Sola Fide" or "Faith Alone".
And I remember the epistle of James says "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone."
(James 2:24)
Does that verse say a man is saved by works and not by faith alone? Have you studied the entire book of James? What are your views when James say if you break just one law in your entire life, it is the same is breaking all the laws? So how can works save you when everyone has broken the law? Does that type of work save people?
Have you kept every aspect of the law perfectly in your life?
@@danielkim672
The context of what James said about "works" is 'good works' not a "law".
Ironically I think you never read
James 2:21-24
Was not our father Abraham justified by means of works, by offering his son Isaac upon the altar?
Yes. Faith vs faith alone...the scripture does not say we are saved by grace through faith alone. It says we are saved by grace through faith. Period.
@@ElizabethBattle Ephesians 2:8-9. We are saved by grace through faith and not by works. What else is there then? Faith is given all by itself-therefore it is alone. Hence, “ faith alone”
2)
Amongst the argument you oppose to the catholic faith there is a false fact.
Not only Jesus himself did forgive sins through a personal encounter, but "whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
4) when Jesus asks the sinner not to sin anymore, he indeed asks for a human cooperation with His Grace.
You make a similar argument to Muslims in regards to the infallible Word of God.

Excellent
Here are some questions we should ask:
-Did God only leave us with the bible, or a bible and a Church?
He wants us to seek him:
Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 7:7-8, Hebrews 11:6.

Perhaps we should just read the bible and do as it says. Like not pray to saints and worship statues like the one of mother Mary. Perhaps the original teachings are in the bible? Lol

We are all called to be Holy and to live our lives in a way that glorifies GOD! 🙏🏾
Your point is?
’m going to DESTROY Allen Parr’s arguments:
1. Praying to the dead
James 5:16 "Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
After the people had leprosy, Moses prayed for them:
Numbers 21:7-8 And the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. [8] And the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and every one who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”
Elijah prayed for the life of the child of the widow woman, who was righteous herself, giving Elijah food. Elisha also prayed and the Lord heard him in the same way. This is very clear in the Scriptures. Secondly, you misinterpret Hebrews. Hebrews 11:32 mentions righteous people who were already dead:
“And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets,”
Then it mentions Martyrs:
Hebrews 11:35
Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection.
Hebrews 12:1-2 finally says:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Next, they are described as a “cloud”, turning your attention to heaven, obviously,
Next, Revelation 5:8 says:
“And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”
First of all, the twenty four elders are Christians in heaven.
2. Praying for the dead/Purgatory
First of all, 2 Maccabees has been Scripture for centuries, until Martin Luther removed 7 Books from the Bible Canon, because they didn’t agree with his own personal interpretation of Scripture.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15
for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ.
12
If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw,
13
the work of each will come to light, for the Day* will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work.f
14
If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage.
15
But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved,* but only as through fire.
3. Transubstantiation
This has to be the worst of your responses.
4. Mortal and Venial Sin
First, you misunderstand James.
This means all of us need mercy and therefore need to be merciful (Jas 2:12-13).”
Mortal and Venial sin are cleary taught in the Bible:
1 John 5:17: “All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.”
Yet all sins don’t lose salvation:
“We all stumble in many ways” (Jas 3:2).

One small truth to add. All children of God are called saints the moment they are saved by the Grace of God through our faith, through the Holy Spirit. There are no special deeds or classifications of works that needs to be accomplished to be a 'saint' in God's eyes.

Yes, they focus on everyone else except Jesus.
The source and the summit of the mass was the Eucharist,
the closest in this temporal world to being in communion with God.
One of the seven sacraments practiced in the early church
as prescribed by Jesus.
Catholic and Orthodox Churches are made to be a beatific
vision of Heaven on the Earth, with the saints and angels surrounding
the altar, where the priest consecrates the bread and wine into the
body and blood of Jesus, so that every generation can be in communion
with Him until He returns again.

Exactly
There’s no 1,000 year gap
True. many people became arrogant after reading the bible yesterday. Yet they have no authority. Only the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church is the One, True Church. You have no Bible Canon without the Catholic Church.
@@kyrptonite1825 oufff you need to Holy Spirit my friend
You already believe Satan has such powers, so why stop there?
When you join with Christ after dying righteous, you become united with him. I believe it is not at all difficult to imagine what the "possibilities" of this unity are. After all, *Luke 15: 7* says: _"Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."_
If those in Heaven rejoice... it means those in Heaven have been given the capacity to notice, one way or another.
Do not put limits to what is possible in Heaven.
On the contrary, we should rejoice at how awesome it will be.
Yeah, true. Allen should have mentioned that.
Your concern about praying to saints attributing God-like powers to them can be addressed by clarifying Catholic beliefs:
Agreed, his misinterpretation of James does not work.
The deadly sin is receiving the mark of allegiance.
Also, that saying on your shirt is only found in ONE place in all of scripture and it’s preceded by the word “not”. But Catholics are the unbiblical ones, right? So cringe.
Can you please tell me the verse because from my research you are wrong. Please share for the sake of truth because that’s what I care about most
@@smallfeet1345 James 2:24. Read the whole chapter for context.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV
@@CurtosiusMaximus828 lastly being a believer means that you pray and talk to God and obey when he puts things on your heart to do or what direction to go in life and to be loving and kind to all to do HIS will on earth. Those works are just us following God and his commandments. Do you get what the Bible is saying?
““If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
John 14:15 ESV
@@smallfeet1345 yes. Of course. But that means you’re not saved by faith alone. Nowhere in the entire Bible does it say you’re justified by faith ALONE. We are justified by faith, hope, and love, love being even more important than faith (“And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:2-3, 13)
Protestants reject this biblical principle because to suggest that love is an integral part of our salvation implies that works is an integral part, because agape love is love that works in action.
You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.”
James 2:14-17, 19, 24
I don't believe, but I really want to. I can't choose what to believe, so please pray for me.
You can choose. Your not pre determined every one has a choice
I suggest attending Divine Liturgy at an Orthodox church. You will meet the Holy Spirit there.
Read the Bible it will tell you what to believe..
Catholicism is the One True Holy and Apostolic Church, Jesus founded. He wanted a united Church. Eastern Orthodoxy is divided by nationalities.
@@christopherjohnson9167 What are you trying to say?
Amen.
You should have a dialogue with Trent Horn. I think that would be interesting.
I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention the sinlessness or immaculate conception of Mary
She IS sinless
@@fishing9467You mean was sinless. She's dead and must not be prayed to. Also, she didn't remain a virgin.
Right Jesus made her that way because God can’t dwell with sin
@@fishing9467 Where in the Scripture does it teach this? This is what Scripture says about Mary, a human being. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Mary sinned. Many many times. Just like the rest of us.
Read your bible God can’t dwell with sin that is why God made Mary sinless so he could dwell with her
By Stating that saints in heaven cannot pray for us ,is a big contradiction to the belief in priesthood of all believers.
If saints in heaven are alive in Christ Jesus they can hear our prayers.
Read Luke 20:38He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive
Revelations 5
8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.
