The Metro opens up lots of flat, dedicated cycling paths for those of us with diminishing or emerging cycling skills. Any Metro station from Bella Vista to Rouse Hill is along the Windsor Rd path, which runs for 20 kms from Bella Vista to Windsor. From the Bella Vista station you can also get to the M7 path in 3 kms. Richmond Rd, Schofields Rd & Sunnyholt Rd have reasonable bike paths. The M7 path is completely isolated and arguably the safest path in Sydney. This is an excellent path to introduce someone to cycling. The Windsor Rd, Richmond Rd, Schofields Rd and Sunnyholt Rd paths are separated from the car lanes but be careful of turning traffic, especially on the Sunnyholt Rd path. Daytime running lights are recommended. Stay safe out there!
Great video mate!! Making me miss Sydney a whole lot whenever you post. Cammeray roadies put some routes up on their website and provide another alternative to military road when coming home. I used to always go that way when coming back from the north
People are often critical of some of the shortcomings of Sydney. But I think by and large we living in a fantastic place and it’s got so much good stuff on offer. Yep, roadies showed me that back way. Much safer and also gives you easy access to the cafes in Neutral Bay
Great route review. I really miss riding in Sydney, especially for the fact the variety of routes on offer are just unbeatable for the scenery, the mix of terrain and usually better weather. While the traffic factor is more hectic than say in Melbourne, it’s mitigated somewhat by riding in a bunch as opposed to soloing. I note though you make no mention on Sydney’s coffee, which suggests Ol’Melbourne town rocks this one in. Thanks for the vid it also rocks
Yea I would definitely recommend riding in a group, more fun and more safe! Haha I do like coffee, but I’ve been holding off on it during the rides recently, lest I need to go for a toilet break!
did my first 100k ride up northern beaches back in summer, almost same route from pittwater road! I remember hating the Parriwi climb simply because I had a sneaky puncture going on halfway 🤣
I don’t recommend Military road for anyone that isn’t confident in tight traffic on bad road conditions. It’s a rubbish road and can be super sketchy. There is a bypass scenic rout you can do via Manly with a fast downhill to,traffic lights along the beach then up a rise back to Military road.
Yep, the backroad way which runs parallel to Military road would be Ernest St, Belgrave St, Orimbah Rd, Bay St then take Figtree Ln to Spit bridge. Didn’t want to over complicate the video with all the alternate routes though. Thanks for commenting.
Just found your channel recently. Started good and getting better. Thanks! Love watching riding footage and cafe stops.
Thank you! Welcome and enjoy ☺️
It’s always a good feeling to wake up to a new upload from Josh Kwan! 🎉❤
Haha thanks for turning in. It’s 10pm here so I just finished uploading this video and I’m about to go to bed :)
Now the metro is open you can chuck your bike on the train to Rouse Hill and do the Springwood ride or some of the other Hawksbury loops.
That’s a great idea and I have thought about it. Never really ridden up there before

That’s a good point. Live a nice extendo.
Well just have to go and do it together 🫰
Ngl that backwards sunnies look is 🔥🔥
Hahaha, it is out of necessity. But it is probably the best looking way to wear them since they cannot be stowed.
Cheers brother

Hahaha a flat tire will do that to you! After 100km Parriwi probably feels like the Alps 🤣

All good, happy to answer questions.
Its the Exposure Joystick
Pretty crazy expensive, but I've had it for years and had zero issues.
