When making the binding (or any time you want to set your creases) use your clapper to cool it quickly. Works beautifully.

Jessica, thank you so much for this! My daughter and I are going to see The Weeknd in concert in a few weeks and we needed a clear pouch 👝 . I can't wait to make two of these into crossbodies! 🙂

You need a tailor’s clapper to hold down your ironed pieces until they cool.

I have some cute ribbon -- that should work for the "binding" around the zipper, too. Great tutorial.

Not gonna lie. That accident cut size. Is a perfect size for a pencil case. I have a Japanese one that I love that’s looks like that.

Using a tailors clapper might be a good idea for the green binding. It’ll hold the edges flat until they cool.

We went to an outdoor concert lately and they said you couldn’t have a purse larger than 4-1/2x8-1/2 but coming in I saw a lot of ladies had clear vinyl purses of all sizes. That was ok. So this is perfect! Not that we go to many concerts 😆

Love these! Thank you for the tutorial! I’ve been making them for a while and I make a binding for each end of the vinyl and then I sew it to the zipper. I also just cut one piece of vinyl and sew each end with binding to the zipper …it’s much easier the way you do it but… I like not to have that seam at the bottom haha 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Jess, thank you so much for your great tutorials. I always learn new stuff from you. Those bags are adorable and the other day I bought some clear vinyl with cupcakes, candles, etc. on it. Super cute and this tutorial just came in handy at the right time. I made already two of them and if you believe it or not the second one I cut out wrong, too. I cut it to 7.5 instead of 8.5 because obviously I can't read the letters on my rulers properly, ha-ha. Came out super cute. One is for my friend and the smaller one I am going to take with me on my trip to Hawaii, yeah. Thanks again! You are an inspiration!

Another way to heat the vinyl (I don’t own a heat gun or hair dryer. I know crazy, right) is to warm up the ironing board with a nice hot iron and lightly press the vinyl against it.
