Hey you forgot about Gouki/Akuma being in X-Men Children of the Atom, history wise. Sorry to be that guy, but it's the only hit I'd ever get against you in a fighting game
Fun fact: XMvSF was the first appearance of brainwashed/Alpha Cammy. She then appeared in SFA2 Gold, literally a few days later from the release of XMvSF.
Yeah, because the game was meant to put together many SF veterans, but Cammy still had not debuted in SFA at the time. I don't know the developer history of XvSF and SFA3, maybe the devs were told to make Cammy's debut earlier for the sake of XvSF instead of leaving to SFA3, that only was released 2 years later. Then that story makes me think about how big Cammy is, because Capcom didn't give Guile that treatment. Like, XvSF is full of SF2 veterans... plus Nash/Charlie. He was the only sprite avaliable at the time. Guile also skipped the original SFA3 release and was only released in the console versions. Capcom didn't put extra effort to make Guile ready for XvSF. I wonder if the deadline was a strong factor too.
Chun-Li's ending is also a reference to Uncanny X-Men #1 from 1963. When Jean joins the school she gets leered at by Beast, Angel and Iceman with Cyclops watching from a distance.
Remember folks, people on Fightcade don't do infinites because it's considered boring. Most will stick to 2 reps, unless you're a jerk in which case welcome to infinite city.
Yeah I usually stick with the 2 reps and stop, infinites in XmvsSf are super easy to do but I just hate doing the same thing because it gets boring quick. Some people will argue that they're fun to do on other people to troll them, which I can't argue with that. Only way infinites are impressive is if they style it, meaning they put in the effort. Because there are some sick infinites.
and it sounds more cool than “air combo” Another case of Americanizing something that don’t need to be. Leave it pure and release what’s already a good game.

The easter egg "console" is NOT a PS1 nor anything related to PS1, that easter egg is not intended for that, what that easter egg wants to tell us is that the REAL "Playstation" always was the Super Nintendo, that's why we see a cartridge on top of the "console", and it's even more clear in the "Capcom Super Machine" (Capcom vs SNK) easter egg, the Snes was "designed" by Capcom to reproduce CPS1/CPS2 games, with an equivalent processor, knowing that the Motorola 68k runs at its 1/4 of its capacities when running external memory (games), and knowing that the Snes' one doesn't have this issue, a good choice by Nintendo/Capcom, and the possibility for the Snes to display 32 sprites on the same line of ANY SIZE (like 32x32, which is a lot), with the "33s Range Over" sprites option, fun fact!, the Snes can display up to almost 2050 colors in modes 3 and 4 (BG1) and still have the other 256 colors at its disposal for background layers and sprites. In fact, you don't need some "incredible" processing to run these games, the prove of that is that the best Snes games technically wise are SLOWROM, meaning the slowest way of Snes processing (similar numbers to CPS1), and meaning NO CHIPS, NO LOADINGS, NO SLOWDOWNS (e.g., Rendering Ranger, Gundam E.D., Super Smash TV, Turtles in Time, etc), and the "33s Range Over" was almost never used to avoid flickering, the "Time Over" sprites option was used instead. So don't be surprised if in the future "ARCADE PERFECT", and i mean, again, "ARCADE PERFECT" PORTS AND RE PORTS OF ARCADE GAMES (80s/90s, mostly Capcom's) ARE MADE FOR SNES. And remember, "select" is for inserting coins, and "start" is for 1p or 2p starting the game, obviously. CHRISTUS VINCIT, CHRISTUS IMPERAT. DEUS BENEDICAT TIBI.
There are aspects where XvSF is better than MvC1, like the stages and the art content... i mean how Capcom put effort to make those big 2d art pieces in the versus screen, and how the endings have a lot of exclusive art. But in MvC1 the versus screen had small portraits and the endings abused gameplay assets. Capcom was already in economy state with those 2d fgs (that went further in MvC2). Also the creativity in stages... like the transitions. Practically unnecessary details gameplay wise, but made a strong impression.
These are my favorite kind of Desk videos, and the editing and quality on this one is absolutely top notch. You're the man Desk, thanks for all that you do!
These games ended up having an effect on Marvel and Capcom fans. Capcom fans who played SF got interested in Marvel stuff and Marvel fans ended up being interested in Capcom games.

I was a marvel fan who loved SF. So when these games were at the arcade it seemed like the most unlikely shit graced the face of planet earth. It was amazing 😂
Another possible Easter egg for Charlie is on the stage where Blanka is seen in the background. If Charlie is chosen, then Blanka is changed out for Beast, but I don’t think this happens with any other fighter. The reason for this could be from speculation of what happened to Charlie Nash after he was defeated by M. Bison. At the time X-Men vs. Street Fighter came out, there was still a theory that Charlie and Blanka were the same person due to what happened to him in Street Fighter the movie. However, in SF5, it was later confirmed that Charlie was killed by M. Bison at the waterfall from his SFA2 ending.
Not really, it just helps to know his age. He used the White Headbanf during the Alpha games ( in which he was younger) meanwhile the red one is the current one.
He gets the red headband from Ken (Ken uses it to tie his long hair in the Alpha games). The event happens both in Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie and in Ken's ending in Street Fighter Alpha 2.
